Going from a kit lens to a G class lens is night and day. Its amazing what the lens captures and how it performs. Even on my old aspc sensor the photos are excellent!

Coupled with my A7riii I'll probably look for a new carrying option other than a basic neck strap. It locks in place at 24mm. The autofocus and focus lock are amazing. Just buy it.

Good lens with one major design flaw

The one unfortunate thing that made me give it only 3 stars is it the poor construction design. Unlike a true professional lens, this lens has the end of the lens that protrudes out as you zoom similar to a cheap kit lens. This is most unfortunate that you spend this much money and Sony can't take the time to do a decent construction design. Hoping they will get their act together by the time they release the next version of this lens. Based on this (and given the cost) I cannot recommend this lens.

Versatile And Formidable

Great quality, good aperture, decent zoom, and that little button on the side you can customize to anything, (a different way to back-button autofocus, etc). Gonna be in my camera arsenal for a long time.

I use it primarily for flowers and insects . It provides high resolution shots combined with my Sony Alpha 7 iii camera. I don’t do a lot of portrait work but this lens should also do well in this application.

Sony’s version of the legendary zoom, the 24-70

Not cheap, but resolves great on the higher resolution cameras such as the A7RIV. AF is quick and snappy in good light, but can be a touch slow in low light, but that can be said about the majority of lenses

Love the bokeh.. One big problem with the lent, I like it so much that I'm not using my previous Lents.. Next the 85mm

The color rendering and sharpness are fantastic. Auto-focus is quick. I programmed the focus hold button on the lens to trigger eye-autofocus and it works like a charm. I can't see this lens coming off of my camera anytime soon.
