Its been few years since this has come out It did arrive late but thats not the lens fault lol it’s understandable during these times for items to arrive late. But other then that, i do recommend these lens. I had a 24GM but wanted the zoom. I have Sigma 24-70 for mirrorless as well as this one. Both are AMAZING. Its still a debate whether or not to keep one or the other, pairing it with my A7R4

This lens is sharp as a tac and works amazing in moderate to low light which is extremely helpful in motorsports photography. Its become my go to lens.

I prefer prime lenses, but opted to go with this one to cover a majority of my needs from the get go. I would recommend this to anyone who can only buy one lens for their new full frame Alpha, unless that person only has one specific need for a lens, in which case i would say to stick to a prime. I am happy with my purchase. Happy to be a Gmaster owner

The best medium range zoom available on Sony

A quality zoom lens

A powerful 7RII full frame camera requires quality glass to record sharp details. This lens was the matching combo for my Sony camera. I am satisfied using it and at times this zoom lens is all I need to cover an outdoors adventure. I would suggest using PhaseOne software to fine tune your images. This software is supplied when you buy a Sony camera. The lens weight is just like any other f/2.8 lenses out there. Happy pictures everyone!

No regrets taking a plunge into this price point

Read many reviews about quality. My only hesitation was dropping this much dough on a lens. I've never invested in (non-kit) lens because photography was just a casual hobby. This is my first serious investment in a professional-level lens and have no regrets! The crispness! The softness in bokeh! The ability to shot in lower light scenarios! New possibilities to explore which makes me want to shoot even more!

Awesome Glass

While I did not want to spend the extra money on this lens, I am quite happy with the results. The bokeh is soft, while the focus is super sharp. If you don't mind the extra size and weight, it is well worth the cost.

Fast native midrange zoom

It would be an overstatement to say it runs rings around the Zeiss 24-70, took a few test shots with both lenses, there is a difference, especially at the edges. Having a wider aperture takes a lot of the sting out of the price and bulk over the Zeiss. And it seems to have much better transmission - with a setting on a tripod 1/80 sec, ISO100, A7RM2 selected f5.6 on the GM, while the Zeiss had to open up to 4.5.

Did Sony Screw Up?

I'm making the switch from Nikon to Sony and I've been comparing this lens to my Nikon 24-70mm and I'm in love with this lens. I don't use auto focus a lot but when I do I love that I can't hear it! It's sharp, great bokeh... and yes to me the bokeh on this lens looks better than my Nikon. I can't find anything bad to say about it.
