It also rivals the Canon 24-70 F2.8 II It's expensive but if your income depends on quality glass and hate switching to primes (trust me, this is compares to the legendary Zeiss 55 F1.8 in sharpness) and great color rendition.

A 24 to 70mm f/2.8 is a classic and must have zoom lens. A powerful 7RII full frame camera requires quality glass to record sharp details. This lens was the matching combo for my Sony camera. I am satisfied using it and at times this zoom lens is all I need to cover an outdoors adventure. I would suggest using PhaseOne software to fine tune your images. This software is supplied when you buy a Sony camera. The lens weight is just like any other f/2.8 lenses out there. Happy pictures everyone!

I bought this as a replacement for my FE24-70 f4 that was stolen from my car. While I did not want to spend the extra money on this lens, I am quite happy with the results. The bokeh is soft, while the focus is super sharp. If you don't mind the extra size and weight, it is well worth the cost.

Very solid, well-built lens. And the sharpness is definitely there. It would be an overstatement to say it runs rings around the Zeiss 24-70, took a few test shots with both lenses, there is a difference, especially at the edges. Having a wider aperture takes a lot of the sting out of the price and bulk over the Zeiss. And it seems to have much better transmission - with a setting on a tripod 1/80 sec, ISO100, A7RM2 selected f5.6 on the GM, while the Zeiss had to open up to 4.5.

Nope, just the opposite. This is a great lens! I'm making the switch from Nikon to Sony and I've been comparing this lens to my Nikon 24-70mm and I'm in love with this lens. I don't use auto focus a lot but when I do I love that I can't hear it! It's sharp, great bokeh... and yes to me the bokeh on this lens looks better than my Nikon. I can't find anything bad to say about it.

overall I LOVE this lens!! I prefer a lens that can zoom and this is a high quality option for that that I think rivals a prime for sure. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that in low light settings I have to worry about banding a lot more than I ever have with any other lens before, including when I shot on Canon in the past and also used a 24-70 2.8.

This lens is crisp, sharp and consistent. I enjoyed the focus and zoom rings as well as the build quality.

The quality is def a GM. The focus noise is a bit noticeable, but my main issue is how large the lens is. I get that it’s super quality, but it’s hard to argue against such a beast lens defeating the point of a mirrorless design. Still can’t go wrong if you can afford it though.

It is one of my favorite lenses now. Great quality with its zoom range. I was in love with prime lens shooting but this made me ditch it! This lens competes with the Canon L lenses. It's fast, clear and crisp, and even has the auto/manual focus switch on the side which makes things easier since we all know how crazy Sony's menu systems are

I am enjoying this lens thus far. I tried an off-brand lens, but it did not hold a candle to the G Master. A little expensive but I think it will be well worth the investment.

This lens is incredible! I firmly believe that one should try all sorts of camera systems and lenses to appreciate high quality equipment. This maintains edge to edge focus and sharpness at all focal lengths. Absolutely recommend for daily use!
