    I have only used this lens on a couple of opportunities and have not had much, if anything, to complain about. I have used this on my A7rII and A6300 and have really like the performance on both setups. The focus is relatively fast and accurate, and I especially like the focus hold button which I have reassigned to the eye autofocus option. This focusing option is why I tend to use my Sony rig more and more versus my older Canon 6D/Tamron 24-70 f2.8 setup. The lens is sharp and seems to be relatively good throughout the aperture range. While being stopped down to around f/4 through f/8 seem to be the sharpest, the ability to open the aperture to f2.8 is nice and produces pleasing background bokeh. This is a great all-around lens that I use the most out of all my other E-mount options. The lens is big and heavy and sports an 82mm front thread to accommodate various filters. The balance is not too bad on the A7RII with a battery grip, but when mounted on the A6300 it tends to be a little off balance. This is not a show stopper, but does require a little adjustment to hand held photography. The main complaint that I have is the price point. This lens is one of the most expensive in the FE range of lens for the E-mount system. However, with the lens wearing a GM badge, I guess the price is justified. It definitely performs better than the previous 24-70 f/4 FE lens, as that lens tended to be a little soft, especially wide open. The GM lenses can definitely stand on their own when compared to other “professional” quality glass from Nikon and Canon.

    Very good lens and versatility is great. Able to use it for portraits as well as landscape photography. Image quality, and sharpness stand out. One negative of this lens is the weight. It is heavy. Overall, very good lens and it’s the get the job done beautifully.

    Pros: Sharp wide open, aberrations are minimal, all of the buttons are switches you would expect of a pro lens’s. Cons: Very expensive, large, heavy Bottom line: If you must have the best, you won’t be disappointed with this lines but competing brands for this system cost far less money for similar performance.

    This lens completely exceeded my expectations. The image quality is outstanding — razor-sharp even at f/2.8 and edge-to-edge across the frame. Autofocus is incredibly fast and accurate, making it perfect for both photography and video work. The build feels premium and durable, and the zoom ring has a smooth, solid feel. It’s definitely an investment, but if you’re serious about your craft, this lens is worth every penny.

    I wanted a lens that I could carry with me on trips without having to swap lenses between my shots and oh boy does this bad boy delivers! It's sharp, fast and it feels great in my hand. I can use it for portraits, parties, hikes and even weddings. I don't mind the weight of this lens at all but I can see how some people may find it a bit on the heavy side. The photos I'm showing are both raw and unedited.

    This is my go-to lens for most of my photography needs. It is well built and feels great in use. The image quality is fantastic. It is big and heavy which is to be expected for this lens. I would have given it five stars but the price is too high relative to other competitive options out there.
