Sound quality is alright nothing spectacular, but there can be nothing in the line of site from the playstation to the headphones. Even a coffee table blocks the signal so it is constantly cutting in and out. Forget walking out of the room to grab anything. Might as well have a cord.

Sound is great but plastic headband only lasts 6 months to a year tops with regular use! The Platinum's with the metal headband have held up way better so far. They also fit more snuggly longer than the plastic, they stretch, the metal ones flex.

Games sound quite good with this headset, although it would not be my first choice for listening to music. It is quite comfortable and not having any wiring is really nice. One possible drawback is that there is a single switch to control relative strength of chat vs game sound. I mostly play single rather than multiplayer, so this does not really bother me, but if you mostly play multiplayer it might be of concern.

I bought these yesterday and I come from Astro A40's. The setup is a piece of cake and they are super comfortable. For the sound, I read certain reviews complaining about the max volume. Take this into consideration, Battlefield 4 playing at max volume, you stand near a tank or heavy gun fire and your ears will want to explode of how loud and clear the sound is. Guys, for $100 you get wireless, easy setup, great construction quality, 7.1 surround, custom profiles in the future, think about it. What more can you expect for $100. The other headsets in comparison and 2 to 3 times the price. If you want something that is good and works and don't want to blow 300, trust me and just buy this. Other reviews that complain about certain things, obviously are not considering the price point and are comparing to headsets that are double and triple the price.

Beware of this item. It broke on me after 2 months. Lucky for me i purchased a 2 year warranty with it. After getting a new one, the second 1 broke again. I took it back to best buy and they gave me a full refund of the item. Both times the headset stopped charging and wouldn't turn on. They were also very uncomfortable wearing. It caused extreme pain to my ears after wearing for long periods of time. The ear piece clipped even broke on my 2nd one after a short time. I guess my head was to big even though i wear a size 7 hat. I plan on buying the A50 and ill let you guys know what i think about it once i use it for a little bit

Picked these up last night as they just arrived in our stores yesterday. I've never been a big fan of headsets as I usually just listen to my games through a 2 speaker/1 sub system, but when I saw these coming out for just $99.99, I figured that I might give headsets a try. My brother lives and dies by his Tritons, but they also cost me over $200 when I bought them for him a couple years back. By no means are these a perfect headset, however, for under $100 and being wireless, they're very nice. I've found some things that I really like as well as a few that I'm not as sure about. Keep in mind that I don't really do online gaming much, so I can't comment on the hidden microphone and chat capabilities. Pros: Great sound quality. I'd more call it a true 5.1 with a virtual 7.1 system capability. The sounds and music come through very clearly and I can easily tell which side they're coming from. It feels like the vocals are only coming from the right and the music is predominately the left, though. Sleek, compact design. These have a collapsing design for easy transport and safety. They even come with a nice little satin bag to store them in. Charges through a supplied micro USB cable. I love the black outer cover and the medium hue blue on the inside. PS3/PS4 compatible. I've got both systems and it works well on each of them. Cons: Fading sounds. Whenever there's a transition from one background to another in games, I notice that the music goes very low or stutters for about 2 seconds. Almost seems like there's a response issue for it. Charging cable. The microUSB cable is only about a foot long. Luckily, it's a standard cable and I can just use the one for my phone instead. Size adjustments. I'm sure it's been tested and it's durable, but the sliding ear pieces have caught a few times when I was adjusting them. Not a huge thing, but it's something I wanted to note. Got 2 years of GSP in case something happens to them. Overall, I'm definitely happy with the headset and I'll start using them over my speaker system for gaming from now on. At this price point, it's definitely worth trying out.

The point of this headset is that it's supposed to wirelessly interact with your PS4. I couldn't get it to connect at all, and you still have to have it plugged in to the controller in order to use voice chat. Kind if defeats the purpose of it being "wireless". I will say that it is entirely possible that I simply could not get it working through my own misunderstanding, but I'm pretty computer savvy, and it seemed to me like it just flat out didn't work. I would guess that this is not typical for this product.

I've owned turtle beaches x31, x42. These are comparable and are actually louder than both. Work seemless with ps4. Battery life is great, they are comfortable too. It has bass but is lacking a t I'd bit. I love them so far. The virtual surround might as well be full surround bc I can hear exactly where the competition is in BF4. Definitely helps my k.d ratio. Buy them! I will respond to questions if u have any.

I brought this and when I had connected it to my PS4, it worked but it didn't work at the same time. I was able to hear people talking but it would break up at times. And I don't think they were able to hear me.

    Great Value Gaming Headset

This is my first gaming headset purchase and my experience couldn't be better. First thing to keep in mind when purchasing is what you're getting, which is a low-priced headset with features of high-priced headsets. You should not be expecting this to sound as good as some of the $250+ headsets out there. That said, this headset is a tremendous value at $100. Set up is a breeze; just plug in the USB dongle in your PS4, turn on the headset, and it works. I downloaded the Headset Companion App on the PS Store and changed the "2" settings to the Shooter setting which sounds great for BF4. Coming from a 5.1 VSS Sony soundbar, this headset provides me with much more directional sound which helps trying to figure out where people are/where shots are being fired from. I have had these for a couple days and used them a couple hours each day and the battery indicator is still on 2 of 3 bars. It's built well but still lightweight making it comfortable at least for a couple hours at a time. The only cons are that the VSS is tied to PS3/PS4 and that it is only wireless on PS3/PS4/PC/Mac, but these don't really impact me since I purchased specifically to use with my PS4. I highly recommend for any PS3/PS4 owner looking for a headset or surround sound without breaking the bank.

One of my favorite headsets to date. Bought this so long ago and im still frustrated that they were discontinued. The foam is so comfortable that somone prone to headaches with headsets can wear this for hours no problem. The sound quality is so good I still wear and use this set to this day.

Prefer these over my Astro A50

This headset is much better than the price lead me to believe. For $100 I expected much less than these turned out to be. They are light but very durable (had mine since they released and still going strong). Of the 4 pair of different brands (these being the least expensive) the Sony Golds are the most comfortable allowing for hours of gaming without experiencing any discomfort. The only two headsets I have set up and displayed are the Sony Gold and the Astro A50. The A50 has better sound but are much heavier and uncomfortable over time but the real reason My A50 is covered in dust and I basically only use the Sony Gold is due to dependability with chat. In-game chat works flawlessly every time with no dropping, distortion or background interference. My $100 Sony Gold sits right next to my $300 Astro A50 and I grab the Sony Gold every time.

Short battery duration. Lousy microphone. Non accurate volume controls. Sound quality is just OK. . Many less expensive sets do much , much better. $20 sets perform much better.
