I would give 5 stars but after a year of use I noticed a hair line crack in the main structure of the headband of the headset. This wear and tear was a result of stretching the earphones away from my ears. Eventually it just gave and it snapped. Thankfully I bought a warranty which covered it, so i was happy. If you Google PS4 Gold Headset Cracked you will see what I mean Overall...The headset works great. I really liked it. I recommend with caution. Make sure you buy a warranty that covers damage.

I love this headset, it works great wireless on my PS4. I also use it on my X Box One, unfortunately it has to be a wired connection with the XB1 but it is still a great headset. If you have a controller with a 3.5mm jack it plugs right in, but if you have an older XB1 controller you will need the converter ($24.95). I would highly recommend this product for PS4 and especially if you have both systems.

Now obviously this isn't going to be as good as the astro a40 or a50s but I got it for $60(actually $99) which is a really good price, for people wondering what to headset to get and are on a budget, get these! -they're playstation headsets so Sony can always do updates on it from your playstation whenever they get a lot of people having. Particular problem with it, -has an app where you can tune the sound -they're lightweight and comfortable even when I'm playing for 4 hours straight -they're not as delicate as the pulse -most simple setup! Connect the USB to PS4 or PS3, and turn on the headset, that's it! On a budget? Don't want all those wires? Looking for a good headset with Comfortability? Get these!

I bought these to replace a wired version that I had with a short in it. These were a fantastic upgrade with better sound out and in. Friends I play with commented how I wounded clearer and louder after getting these. They aren't too heavy and are adjustable and fold for easy storage. My only complaint is really with the ps4 console. a usb dongle is necessary to use these wirelessly.

This a nice headset for the money for your PS4. It is comfortable and holds a decent charge. Best thing about it a sound and comfort. Better options out their but none really at this price point in my opinion.

Download the ps4 headset app 1.6 before using. I got this last night, charged it last night and fired them up this morning and am very satisfied with the overall clarity with the sound. Do not let other reviews saying "oh buy the ASTRO A40 or A50" which is way overpriced for just a headset. This product is light and does an amazing job for the price plus its compatible with PS3/ PS4/ PC/ PS Vita out of the box and wireless. I almost got the pulse elites but with the power of google and doing some quick research while in store the sony pulse elites build quality is prone to breaking in a couple of months use due to a design flaw which is a first I have seen from sony. Again download the app even says on the back of the box unlike some early reviews that tried to rip these headphones and quick to judge negatively before the official app came out.

I bought these for my husband as a birthday gift and he loved them. They had great sound and blocked out the sound. The only problem we had was that the headband started getting stress fractures (in less than a year) Since we had the warranty we were able to exchange them but we decided to upgrade to Sony Platinum headphones they have a metal headband. But we loved these headphones and would buy them again.

I am not a hadcore gamer, but these headphones do the trick and work better than I could have imagined. I put them on at night as to not disturb my wife or child in other rooms and my only regret is not buying them sooner! I don't need to talk to people on CoD or Battlefield, but a game like Alien Isolation REALLY intensifies a game that already is intense.

Overall, these are a great gaming headset, but for music and movies, they are just okay. The 7.1 is amazing for games, specifically shooters, as you can tell where everything is! Sound is crisp and clean. Chat sounds great and it is awesome that the mic is hidden so it's not in the way. My biggest complaint is that is that the max volume isn't really that loud, especially for music and movies. I had it turned up max on a movie and it was simply too quiet. I primarily bought these for games, and would highly recommend them for that. If you are wanting something all around for gaming, music, movies, I would probably look for something else.

Just like i said in Sony Pulse review, these headset IMO are way better than the Sony Pulse, the only key feature missing is the rumble feature which is something we can live without. In my last review under the Sony Pulse elite i predicted the price to be around $120 and its actually cheaper. The way these headsets were made by sony pretty much has no crack issue (google sony pulse crack headset if you dont know what im talking about) the 7.1 and 5.1 is a welcome feature and even though i think the sony pulse looks cooler in design i like that these headset matches my Ps4. Keep in mind that if you can play the waiting game sony will becoming out with other/better headset hence the name gold.

These are my first headphones ever and my first review ever. When I first put them on I was like wow, what a sound incredible! they are pretty comfortable for over the ear headphones. On my 7th day of having these headphones I was trying to adjust the cups so they would fit in my ear more comfortable, and the cover in the outter part just broke.I wish it was bluetooth because the dongle do not have great reception you do 10 steps away from the PlayStation and you lose reception and sometimes while playing I lose reception too, this happened about 5 times already it's a shame because to me the sound is great but unfortunately I will be returning them and try to get something else.

I just picked it up and it was worth the wait. I use it mostly for playing COD Ghosts and the first time I heard an explosion it made me jump. I have owned other headphones for the PS3 and I am glad they made this one. The Sony Gold can also be used with the Vita which is handy when you are on a flight. For $99 you can't go wrong with this.

This is a great headset! I wanted a headset to use for when I play and didn't want to bother others that are resting/sleeping in the same room. The sound is great, would definitely recommend! The only gripe I had was that the USB dongle takes up a USB port on my console.

Let me start off by saying that I bought this headset last September at Game Stop. I had previously owned the old Sony PS398085 headset and loved it. The sound quality was great, the slide-out mic was high-quality on the receiving end, and they were quite sturdy. I've now owned the Gold Wireless Headset for about 7 months, and after daily usage with careful handling, the right side hinge is broken and the plastic on the top part is cracked and peeling off. For whatever reason, someone made the poor decision to cover this thing in cheap plastic, right down to the hinges, which are held together by a thin cover on top of a nearly needle-thick metal rod. Don't expect to use this headset for very long if you plan on using it daily, and remember to handle it with care, because it is VERY fragile. As far as the sound quality goes, there really isn't much to say about its output. It's very clear and I never had a problem with it. However, the microphone suffers greatly. It's touted as a noise canceling headset, and sometimes it seems like the noise it's canceling is your own voice. I've had moments where the person on the opposite end can barely hear my voice, but something playing out of my speakers sounds incredibly loud, even with my volume being low. Not only that, it's almost as if you have to wear the headset just right for the mic to even pick up your voice properly. If I take the right earcup off just a little bit, I've had people tell me I sound very far away, which is immediately remedied by putting the entire headset back on. For a gaming headset, the poor mic quality is no excuse.

Got these as a gift and couldnt be happier. They make every game sound amazing. Its like having surround sound. They were very easy to set up, almost plug and play. Also, the companion app is a must. It takes this headset to the next level. Download that asap!

I purchased two sets one for me and one for my grandson. Very easy to set up and sound quality is excellent. Also downloaded the free headset companion App and customized my audio mode .Another great Sony Product and recommendation from Best by Associate.

I've always hated wired headsets and those that have an extended mic. Went to best buy today looking for a this headset and was not disappointed. Mic is hidden, sound quality is flawless and they're comfortable and stylish! You can even download the free app on both ps3 and ps4 and customize the audio settings for your movies, music and video games! They come with a nice little pouch to carry them around and an audio cable so you can use em with any other device you want. Even the clerk at best buy told me he got them instead of wasting money in those overpriced Beats headphones!

I have used Turtle Beach headsets, Logitech, and the previous Sony headset for PS3. This one beats all of them IMO.

These are the best headphones/headset for the Playstation nation. Sleek design, light weight, awesome performance.
