I would not consider myself a hardcore gamer because I usually only play first person shooters online. However I do make game sound a propriety when I play. I never used the microphone to comment on this one but the sound is really really good. I owned the previous version (the pulse elites) and the sound is just as good. The major upgrade is the durability. I had to electrical tape the stress points and ear cuffs of pulse elites because they broke. I would not say these are up to par with the astro's but for 99 bucks these are awesome.

Headset is great for the price! It has less bass than I would like, but has clarity. Definitely gives you a virtual surround sound experience. Connects very easily and is great for late night gaming.

Best feature is it's wireless. Little tough to get used to the volume & mute adjustments as when wearing the headset you have to take it off your head to locate them. Otherwise awesome.

There are several things I like about the Sony headphones. I like the range and clarity. I could walk from my bedroom, through the living room and to the kitchen before I would lose signal. The mic is very good and I like that I don't have to worry about the boom. The headset fits comfortable over my ears. It's plug and play with both my PC and PS4. The battery only lasts 5-6 hours of continuous use, but you can use it while charging or use an audio cable if your near your computer or PS4 controller. Since it doesn't use bluetooth the only way to connect it to a phone is with a audio cable. I really enjoy it so far and definitely think it is worth the price.

These headphones are good overall. Sound quality is excellent when the speaker is centered over the ear; however, there is no room for placement change before you get sound degradation. In addition, they are not outside world noise cancelling. Bluetooth connectivity with the PS4 worked as expected.

Pretty comfortable set of headphones, has the option of being used wired or wireless, only complaint is that their a bit too big to fit around your neck.

This is a high quality set of headphones that work impeccably with the PS3 or PS4. It is a large step up from the single bud wired headphones that come bundled with the PS4. They are comfortable and provide a great sense of surround sound.

Although the sound quality is not as good as the $150 PS elite pulse edition headset. That minor lack in sound quality is more then made up for in comfort! Really soft on even the most sensitive of ears (like mine BTW) while even wearing glasses.

I looked up past reviews and was hesitant due to the fact that everyone complained about the headphones breaking. After a months usage, they still work fine. I did not have any issues with the earmuffs. I think those that have them breakibg are the ones raging and throwing the headsets around. There's built in noise cancellation, and the range was 15-20 feet before it started cutting out on me. The battery life was roughly 6 hours. All in all, for a headset that doesn't utilize the optical output, I'd say they're quite nice!

These work great and the sound is good, especially the surround sound. There is an high pitch sound in the left ear of mine that sort a bugs me for a while but being a professional musician, I may be noticing something others wouldn't hear. My ear tunes it out eventually or else it comes and goes.

I've had this headset since release and it finally broke today. this headset has a flaw and that flaw is having a folding option, and because of this folding option it has a weak spot at the bending part its only held together by two little plastic pieces, so if you have a big head you'll most likely stretch the little plastic pieces and they will snap over time as mine did. so big heads beware! I don't know why we would need to fold our headsets in the first place, but because of this my headset is held together by duck tape. The other reason not to get this headset is when you go wireless mode the audio is complete garbage, and then when its wired its really good audio but you can't use any of the buttons while wired, cant mute your mic, change volume etc. waste of money in my opinion.

As an avid gamer/music lover I have owned many wireless headsets, some cheap, some expensive and some in the middle. This set has become my go to set as far as quality of sound for both gaming and music and for functionality. Great product!

If you want amazing sound and don't want to bother others, this is the headset for you. All games sound amazing on it that unless you have great surround sound speakers at home i think you would rather play with this than your tv speakers.

Connects flawlessly with the ps4 and provides great surround sound. Excellent value for money and ideal for playing those M rated games or shooters when the little ones are in bed (wife is also happy!). Perfect solution for the whole family.

This headset surpassed my expectations as a gaming headset. And on top of that Best Buy surprised me and price matched Amazon allowing me to get the headset for an even lower price

This is a very nice and comfortable headset made for gamer's with custom sound settings you can upload to the headset the sound is very clear sharp and spot on with the 7.1 surround sound hear bullets fly or enemies creep up behind you it is the best also if you are a Sony fan these are a must but the overall sound and quality is great. The microphone is very good too only hears you and not small noise in the background perfect for your friends in the same team for those decisive and quick moves to win the match.

My husband uses this wireless headset when playing his PS4 and we both like the Sony headset very much. He gets to listen great surround sound on the headset and I get to listen to silence throughout our home hahaha. Great headset!

The PlayStation GOLD Stereo headset provides a great well-rounded experience to the user while keeping the comfort level on point for extended gaming sessions. A small, but not very critical gripe about the headset is that unless you don't have a big head like me, can be slightly difficult to take off without worrying about snapping the sides when you open it up to take off. However this can be quickly addressed with the right amount of attention every time your gaming session is over. Overall, very nice.

I bought the cheapest wireless headset I could find for my Xbox One and it was the same price ($100) but PlayStation blew it out of the water with their headset. I expected adequate sound and I expected to have to fight with it to get it to hear me because of the "invisible microphone." This is one of the most comfortable headsets I've worn and it works perfectly. The sound quality is great and you have total control over the equalizer in the PlayStation app for the headset. Sensitivity on my PS4 is totally controllable and everyone hears me perfectly fine even though the mic is in the headset itself. The battery life is somewhat equal to the PS4 controller, so if you game for more than 6 hours in a day expect to have to sit near the charger for a little bit. Overall awesome headset.
