Dogmeat Barked and I thought it was my dog.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best pair of headphones I've ever owned. Not flimsy like *other brands* of headphones, which I've had to replace 4 times in a year due to various problems. The difference between these and other headphones at this price point is huge. The surround sound on these is insane. Playing fallout 4, I can pinpoint exactly where in the room an enemy or NPC is just by their footsteps. Not just the direction, but distance and location too. Also, dogmeat barked and I thought it was my dog. I even took my headphones off and got up to check on things. So that's cool.

Great but not great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off let me clarify that all I've ever owned are Sony headsets ever since the original gold set for the PS3. I've always been impressed by the sound quality and design. I had the original pair of PS4 gold and it was phenomenal except the poor hinge design. This new model definitely fixes that issue but it's like PlayStation bringing out the "slim" model. This new design lacks compared to it's bulky first gen model. The range is cut in half and causes mic issues when you come back in range. My kitchen is 20 feet away from PlayStation and it loses connection in that short distance. When I come back in range the mic is distorted according to my gaming friends and I consistently have to turn it off/on to fix it. I've gone through three pairs within the year and sadly disappointed in this slim quality design. It just seems like they took something out they shouldn't have. Outside of that the sound quality is phenomenal and the 7.1 virtual surround sound is spot on. I may try the Platinum set next but I think that Sony needs to bring the price down before I'll by a headset that only supports a few games in 3D sound. I love the freedom of wireless but I've moved on to the Hyper X cloud Alpha wired and blown away by the sound quality! Way better purchase for a $100. Sony, step up your game and bring back your glory

Very underwhelming headset with an even worse mic.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a huge fan of the original playstation gold headset and by all fairness there were a few improvements from the original but overall comparing these to other mid range headsets, these were a total letdown. The new golds are comfy. Much more so that the Playstation Platinum but i do wish they had kept the large ear cups from the original Gold. The sound is good. Not the worst I've heard on a headset but far from the best. Bass didn't have much punch at all. Now here is the reason for two stars. The Mic. Out of all the gaming headsets I have tried this is without a doubt the worst mic I have ever used. Think of your voice digitized and sounding like you're talking through a tin can. I mean, wow. It's seriously that awful. My friends knew I was getting these and as soon as they heard me speak, they laughed. Yes, it's really that bad.

Good headset but beats your ears up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the headset sound wise, mic works great too, battery life is awesome as well and it charges while you use it so why not, right!? Biggest issue, 30 minutes of playing and my ears are on fire. This is the only headset I’ve had this issue using.

Great for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones are the best you can get for the price. The sound is amazing with directional sound. The only issue with these are the build quality. I've had three of these head phones and on each of them has had the same issue, the left ear-cuff disconnects its self from the rest of the headset.

First gaming headset
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my first gaming headset. They worked fantastic for about 3 years. Granted mine were the older version, but the new ones are basically the same. The earcups and headband imitation leather started to dry rot after a couple years. Then finally, both volume controls went out. Overall , the sound was great, just the materials used was cheap and didnt last as long as i preferred.

Not better than the 2nd generations sound quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The 3rd generation is a lot more comfortable than the 2nd headset but when it comes to sound quality I Immediately noticed that the volume and high frequencies are lower then the 2nd generation, For a person that got used to using the 2nd generation headset for music production its certainly a step down in sound quality.

Its good while it lasts
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The leather on the ears began to peel off so when you go to take it off you would end up with yours ears all covered in black debris. But sound quality is good and the fact that I can also use it for my Mac is also a really good feature.

Great at first, until it drops connection
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This headset worked great for a month and now it is nothing but disappointment The sound continuously cuts out in the middle of play. It is so frustrating to play a game and have your sound drop out every minute or so. My setup has me only 4 ft away from my console with a direct line of sight between headphones and the dongle and it still drops connection. I will be turning mine back in today and getting something other than this piece of garbage. Do not buy.

Great except battery
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This headset is comfortable, stylish, has great sound and love the fact I can control everything through the headset. But all of that is negated when I have to charge it literally every 4-5 hours. I usually game about 1-2 hours at a time. After 2 gaming sessions, I hear a beep and it’s time to recharge. Why would Sony make these great headphones but make the battery last 4 hours?? That alone turns a 5 star review into a 3

Most uncomfortable headset I've ever bought
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I pre-ordered these new headphones because my old golds were broken and had duct tape wrapped around them in layers. I purchased these hoping for the same performance and more durability. The first thing I noticed when putting these headphones on was they were extremely uncomfortable. After wearing them for only about 30 minutes my ears felt like they were bleeding. It's been 3 days since I've worn them and my ears are still a little tender! I can't imagine wearing them for hours during long gaming sessions. The audio quality wasn't as good as the previous gold headset. Overall these headphones were a let down and I returned them almost immediately. If you're looking for a headset around $100 spend the extra $50 and get the RIG-800hs. I've tried turtle beach 700, Sony golds (old version and new), and the Astro 20. The RIG is hands down the best you'll get in this price range.

Trash
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This headset is no where near good for the price of 99$ I promise anyone thinking of buying. Got it for 69$ and I still wanna return it. It’s a ripoff worth 39$ or 49$ at best. It’s really really average definitely not worth what they are asking.
