Sony Sound Bar

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Not really worth the money… I had a JBL 900 series sound bar, but wanted to “upgrade” to all Sony products. The sound bar is fine, but for the price tag of almost $1000 without a subwoofer I expect a lot out of the product. I did buy the larger Subwoofer offered coming out to almost $2,000. Took it home set it up expecting to be blown away… I just wasn’t. The JBL is $1000 with sub and I think the quality is better plus you get Bluetooth satellite surround that disconnects from the main bar, all included. Sony products usually don’t let me down but I have to say it’s best to look elsewhere for a quality sound bar that includes all you need rather then piecing it together for double the cost. The 2 saving graces this sound bar has is the dialogue is very clear, and easy to use especially if you have a Sony TV (I do) but if your expecting great movie sound I would go a different direction.

Depending on the combination of the setting of SOUND FIELD and input signal, surround sound processing may not work effectively. The surround effect may be subtle, depending on the program or disc. To play multi-channel audio, check the digital audio output setting on the device connected to the speaker system. For details, refer to the operating instructions of the connected device.
Additionally, you can adjust the sound settings of the soundbar to tailor-fit the sound quality to your needs. You may refer to this link for more information (refer to "Adjusting the Sound and Volume Quality"):
