    Very disappointing. Claimed to be big sound but not with my Samsung.. Not sure why the two just didn't mesh. I returned.

    soundbar is straight up trash no power. I had to buy the old Sony soundbar HT ST9 from 2015.

      Hi wang2,

      This is not the experience that we want you to have. This isn't normally the case with the HTA5000. If the unit is not turning on, make sure that the AC power cord (mains lead) is connected securely. Disconnect the AC power cord (mains lead) from the wall outlet (mains), and then reconnect after several minutes.

    Not a good soundbar for the amount purchased. Sound quality is very poor compared to cheaper ones.

    We haven’t had soundbar a year and it’s already making a crackling sound. So dissapointed. What a waist of money.

    The power saving mode which you can put to bright the tv color or deem the tv color and its picture quality is the best

    Beast of a soundbar

    I have had a variety of soundbars through the years as well as having a full blown traditional theater set-up with a standalone receiver etc. So while I am not audiophile I have a broad range of experience with the different options that are available on the market. I am using this with a 65" LG OLED with all the Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision bells and whistles. I am upgrading from a Samsung HW-Q70R which at the time was a solid Dolby Atmos equipped system, but this new Sony set-up embarrasses it. Unboxing and set-up was easy and straight forward, though the soundbar itself is a beast compared to most others I've ever had my hands on. Its longer than my old samsung and definitely heavier. I would imagine this being a result of how many additional higher quality speakers it has but also it doesn't have an external power brick so the power supply is located internal on the soundbar. I am using this with the eARC output on my LG OLED and it works fantastic. This soundbar also has an extra HDMI port built in so it can passthrough media up to 4K/120hz or 8K, so it'll work with your PS5 or xbox Series X. I am not using the passthrough functionality and it still always recognizes Dolby Atmos/Vision content and appropriately changes settings. Sound quality is fantastic with this and is hands down the best soundbar experience ive ever had. This thing supports Hi-Res audio if you subscribe to Tidal or Amazon Music Premium, as well as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. It does some trick stuff with the speakers, which generally just seems like a gimmick but genuinely seems to work in this sound bar. They have upward firing speakers, speakers that fire out the sides, and it has its own subwoofer. From there you can even add an external subwoofer and rear speakers (which I have) for an even better surround sound experience. Out of the box its still a solid package with plenty of punch, I generally only listen to it around 1/4 volume, sounds great on everything from Netflix to gaming on my PS5. If you are looking for a high quality experience right out of the box with easy connectivity and minimal set-up this is a great option. Soundbars have come a long ways since they originally started popping up on the market and this is the first unit at this price point that actually seems "worth it". So for those that are still using the built in speakers on their TV and are looking for a premium sound experience that can be upgraded with external subwoofer and wireless rear speakers all with extremely friendly set-up then this is a great option for you to consider.

    Ive been waiting for this soundbar to come in for 2+ weeks they have delayed and pushed back the package forever. They've had it listed as preparing to ship for the last 2 weeks so I cant even cancel and get a refund.

    Purchased 11/18/21. Failed to power up at all. RMA'd product. Waiting for parts, swapped PSU, still failed to work. It is now 1/5/21 and still have been unable to get part repaired or replaced despite really wanting to try product. Geeksquad says they are awaiting a response from Sony.

    Can’t get it working

    I am normally pretty good with instructions but the ones with the sound bar are very confusing. No matter how I hook up the cables or what sequence i turn on the equipment, the only way i get sound is through the tv speakers.

    I purchased at a discount at 599 when I purchased a TV but I quickly returned it because the sound and quality was far less than my $199 Vizio sound bar with surroundsound. So I just purchased another Vizio.

    For the price I wasn't really impressed. Ended up getting the sonos and that is well worth the money. Had a hard time getting it set up to play music as well
