I was replacing a 10 year old Samsung Curved TV and soundbar with sub. The audio had to be around 37 after auto tuning to be at rhe same level as my old one at 15. The audio was really muddy, the highs werent bright and the lows were meh. The inability to really tune the eq was a giant drag as well, with some work the sound was better but not worth the money. I did the HEAT bank shoot out test and the sub was 10/10 but the reat of the audio was meh. Atmos is really cool but the speakers let down. I ended up pulling my HW-F850 from 2013 out and hooked it up, it was such an obvious difference my wife asked why I had bought the Sony, so its goimg back.

Great sound but poor connection issues

That being said the connection when plugging into the hdmi input has me shaking my head at times. The handshake issues between the soundbar and my Sony a80j tv is terrible. Definitely takes to long for two products of the same make, quality 8k cables all settings on tv and soundbar are correct. If this wasn’t an issue this product would be perfect.

It’s good, it Sonos is infinitely better. I used this for a week and returned for the Arc. Very happy I did.

Okay volume but no base to speak of. I was expecting a little more from Sony. My 5 year old Sony HT-Z9F Sound Bar with rear speakers and subwoofer deliver a superior sound. Unfortunately I was told this system is not compatible with my new Sony 65" TV. Not looking forward to the added cost of subwoofer and rear speakers. Or added clutter to the room.

If you mean if you can output the center part of the speaker system sound from the TV. Unfortunately, it will only work if your Sony TV has a S-CENTER SPEAKER IN Jack.
