As playing PS5 is one of my main media hobbies, this control works great. Was hesitant to buy based on price but I really enjoy the paddles. I mainly play DayZ and mapping L1 and R1 to the paddles makes control so much easier. Being able to adjust stick sensitivity is nice too but takes some play to figure out what you like. It’d be difficult to go back. Might be some but the braided long USB cord and case that it came with are actually very nice.

The Sony DualSense Edge wireless controller Midnight Black is one of the best premium controllers available for PlayStation 5 players who want a more competitive and customizable experience. It keeps everything people already like about the standard DualSense controller — including adaptive triggers, immersive haptic feedback, and comfortable ergonomics — while adding pro-level features such as remappable back buttons, adjustable trigger stops, swappable thumbstick caps, and custom control profiles. The black “Midnight Black” design also gives it a sleeker look and tends to hide wear and discoloration better than the original white version. In actual gameplay, the controller feels extremely responsive and well-built. The back buttons are especially useful in fast-paced games like Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Apex Legends because they allow quicker reactions without moving your thumbs off the sticks. Sony’s software integration is another major advantage, making it easy to switch between profiles and customize sensitivity settings directly on the PS5. The replaceable stick modules are also a smart addition because they help extend the life of the controller if stick drift develops over time. However, the controller does have a few weaknesses. The biggest complaint is battery life, which is noticeably shorter than the regular DualSense controller and often lasts only around five to eight hours depending on use. It is also expensive compared to standard PS5 controllers, and some players may feel that having only two rear buttons limits its competitive advantage compared to other pro controllers from brands like Razer or Victrix. Despite those drawbacks, the DualSense Edge remains one of the most polished and premium-feeling PlayStation controllers available, especially for players who value comfort, customization, and seamless PS5 integration.

I recently bought the new black DS Edge. Lol I got tired of struggling with the regular DS button placements when I play COD, so the Edge was perfect for me. The only thing I’m not too fond of is the battery life. Thank God the cord it comes with is long enough to maneuver. Best controller ever.

I wasn’t sure about getting this because of the price and talks about battery life but so far I’ve enjoyed it. My primary reason for buying it was to avoid stick drift that one of my regular controllers currently has plus these regular controllers are pretty pricey for something so troublesome. I feel like controller all around is better as far as feels and reaction. Definitely something that I would tell my friend or a stranger to buy or invest in. Apparently also this controller is meant to be attached to a cable mostly so a long cable is included which doesn’t make gaming more difficult or anything. If you get one cheers.

Premium controller that feels amazing in hand. Customizable buttons and profiles make a big difference, especially for competitive gaming. Build quality is excellent and the adjustable triggers are a nice touch. Worth it for serious gamers.

Good value, has extra features that give quality of life in gaming with the back buttons. Battery life not that great (5to6 hours at best) but extra long charging cable that’s provided keeps you going. Still great controller would recommend.

Sony doesn’t let other companies copy their haptics. If you want a pro controller with haptics (granted some pro gamers don’t bc they feel it disturbs their gameplay), this is your only option. Fortunately, it rules. The settings can be adjusted thru the console as opposed to only the controller like 3rd party controllers. Very easy switch out pieces and I even customized mine with a cool shell. If you are a competitive gamer or just want a little more advantage, I HIGHLY suggest looking for custom thumb pads. There are several different types based on your play style, but I specifically went with concave because it keeps my thumbs from slipping! You want the warranty. I know it is expensive, but I have been playing video games for 30+ years. Accidents happen. A tiny piece that can’t be changed might wear out. These things are very delicate.

I purchased the DualSense Edge in Midnight Black from BestBuy as a Christmas gift for my son, and it has quickly become his favorite present. The sleek and professional Midnight Black finish is something he greatly prefers over the standard white. He mainly uses it for competitive shooters, and the ability to swap the back paddles and adjust the trigger sensitivity has significantly enhanced his gameplay. Additionally, the replaceable analog stick modules are a major plus for me, as it means we won't need to buy an entirely new controller if he experiences stick drift. The only reason I’m rating it 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the battery life. It depletes faster than the standard controller (typically lasting around 5–6 hours), which means he often has to play with the included cable connected. Fortunately, the cable is long and of high quality, so it’s not a major issue. All in all, it’s a premium, high-performance upgrade that any PS5 player would truly appreciate.

Being able to swap stick modules, adjust trigger stops, and map back buttons adds a lot of flexibility for different games. It still delivers everything great about the standard DualSense—immersive haptics and adaptive triggers—while giving you more precision and control. If you’re serious about gaming and want a high-end controller that performs as good as it looks, this one is absolutely worth it.

Pretty Good controller a lil overhyped but you pay for the experience not for the item. Nice controller presets but you can always customize it.

The best controller i ever had in all my years of gaming. The battery life is excellent for me. Changing key binds helps me in some games. Overall a excellent controller

Customization of the controller is nice and it is fitting right in the hands

Very easy to setup profiles for different games based on your playing style. Love the compensation for stick drift and sensitivity. The trigger sensitivity setting is awesome! You don’t have to pull/press the triggers all the way to register an action, you can also set the distance the triggers travel to fire weapons faster. The paddles kinda work for me, takes a bit to get use to them, mainly for multi tasking within the game. Battery life could’ve been better. A regular PS5 controller lasts twice as long. I turned off vibration and dimmed the leds and still only lasts half of a regular controller. Shifting profiles based on what game you’re playing is fast! You can do it mid game and in 1-2 seconds, you can switch the controller setup entirely. Make multiple profiles for one game if you want based on how you want to play at that moment, what ever you want! Leave it plugged in as I do and the battery life isn’t an issue anymore. Easy replacement of thumb sticks too if you ever need it. A quick adjustment of the Deadzone will eliminate stick drift. Watch tutorials before making adjustments to understand what you’re adjusting and why.

This has some of the nicest finishes and feels of any controller, it definitely feels as premium as the price tag to me. It's more grippy than a standard Dualsense and that leads to less fatigue over time. The same goes for the sticks which also feel nice and soft. Haptics, detailed vibrations and trigger resistance feel much more immediate just due to the whole thing being a lot more solid. It makes a big difference in games like GTA Online where the haptics are a big part of the fun. I did notice not long after getting the Edge that the sticks give off a click every time you move the joystick from center. It's the same noise as my standard Dualsense has, just much louder, and once I noticed I couldn't help hearing it especially during downtime in games, in gentle more reflecting moments. It's audible just when normally holding your controller unlike with the standard Dualsense. So, I found a type of WD40 that's silicone based and safe for electronics, and pried apart both sticks down to the main joint with rubber bands under the stick cover. I straight up drowned them in this silicone lube, moved the sticks around a lot, and they are now both very quiet. I probably would have returned the Edge if I hadn't been able to solve this.. but it just shouldn't be an issue at this price point. But I love the feel and the haptics so much that I found a way to make it work without an annoying click every time I, you know, looked around or moved in a game. Excellent premium, potentially infuriating controller that at least for me is worth some time and effort to make perfect.

Exceptional controller more durable than the regular PS5 controllers. Only downside is the battery life which is half of the regular controller.

Love this controller. Perfect for any type of gaming. With the replaceable sticks and the adaptive triggers and custom buttons, all around great controller. Could have a better battery though.
