The new PlayStation DualSense Edge controller is a premium upgrade designed for serious gamers, particularly those into competitive play. It builds upon the standard DualSense controller with added features like customizable button mapping, adjustable trigger lengths, and replaceable stick modules. Users can also save multiple profiles for different games, switching seamlessly between them with a button press. The back paddles, a standout feature, make gameplay smoother and more comfortable for intense sessions. The controller delivers excellent performance in FPS and racing games thanks to its high level of customization. However, it comes with notable drawbacks: a hefty price tag of around $200 and a shorter battery life (roughly 8 hours compared to the standard DualSense’s 10-15 hours). Despite this, for players seeking a competitive edge, the DualSense Edge offers unmatched control and adaptability【8】【9】. If you’re a casual gamer, the improvements might not justify the cost, but for those who prioritize high-end performance and customization, it’s a strong choice.

At first I was hesitant at getting this controller because of the price. However, after finally deciding and “pulling the trigger” and I purchased it. This controller feels better in someway. It feels more heavy, but not too heavy to make it obnoxious. The joysticks all feel nice and premium, especially the ps3 ones, and apart from all of the, the main reason on why I bought it, the fact that you can swap out the the main component of the joystick in case you ever get stuck drift. The controller’s battery isn’t the best, clocking in at 5ish hours of gameplay, give or take, but the cable makes up for it.

It is a bit more hefty than your regular dualsense controller. The quality of it feels great. I love that it comes with options for the thumbsticks and for the back buttons. Unfortunately, the only downside to it is the battery, does not hold a charge as long as the normal dualsense. Also I am glad that I can change out the sticks if I get stick drift, so it’s worth the investment instead of buying a whole new controller. Overall, it is awesome.

For $200+ i would not recommend this playstation controler. If it was 100 i would. 150 maybe. First, the joysticks have a clicking to them. I didnt notice it at first, people around me wothout headsets on told me. I then looked it up and seen other people have same issue. Point docked. After less then 30 days of playing mw2, stick drift all ready started. I had to clean it, must of had dirty hands, but wait, looked it up, a lot of people have issue with same yellowish tint forming by where pinky would sit. Alchool rubs it off a little but my prediction after so many cleanings rubber will start to fade and wear down. Points docked. Theres definitely more you can adjust then other controllers but not much. this one is strictly for ps5. Idk if it works with ps4. Or pc for that matter. The dpad buttons, up fown left right, feel really nice. Same with trickers, they have textured x o ■ triangle on them whitch can be nice, after long game play can make a numbing sensation on fingers. Being able to lock the amount of pull needed on R2 n L2 is nice. Being able to swap out joysticks after 30 day use then stick drift accuring, is nice. Dualsense joysticks on controler that came with ps5 lasted 5 month's. After watching other people taking the edge apart, the components are a lot of metal or aluminum whitch makes the pull and push of all buttons feel smooth. In return adds more weight. A lot complain about battery. Dont last as long as original controler. But can still get 4 good hours of gameplay on a charge. The lights around touch pad only come on when you first turn controller on, then they turn off and stay off. Only a small white light above ps symbol stays on. Mute button is a little better then original. I prefer the trigger/lever style exra buttons rather then the small push buttons, but both are magnetic and smooth. Im gonna keep it but i would tell someone to wait untill it drops in price or if you have reward points to use or a coupon. Not $200+tax

I purchased this controller last year in September 2024, i havent had any issues up until about today August 13th 2025 and that “issue” is stick drift which I have already put my new analog stick in and feeling great again, normal default controllers end up getting stick drift within 3-5 months so im very pleased to write this review! I suggest every playstation player and or pc player that loves using controller to buy this Dual Sense Edge

The controller feels and works great. Customizability is awesome. Only downside is how small the battery is but assuming you're buying this for a comp game chances are you want a cable to minimize any potential lag this thing comes with a little lock to prevent the cable from being disconnected on the controller end.

Strengths & Highlights 1. Immersive Haptics & Adaptive Triggers The DualSense delivers advanced haptic feedback that simulates textures, resistance, and in-game motion with more nuance than classic vibration. The adaptive triggers add variable resistance, giving sensations like drawing a bow or pulling a brake. 2. Comfort & Ergonomics The design is more rounded and tailored than previous PlayStation controllers, and its grips are comfortable even during long sessions. The Edge version includes slip-resistant inner grips for better control. 3. Customization & Pro-Level Features (Edge only) The DualSense Edge stands out with replaceable stick modules, interchangeable caps, rear buttons/paddles, adjustable trigger lengths, and multiple user profiles. It integrates well with PS5’s software, making profile switching and button remapping smoother. 4. Built-In Mic, Speaker & More Features Sony added a microphone array so you can chat without a headset, and the controller includes its own speaker. The touchpad and motion sensors (accelerometer/gyroscope) remain useful extras.

This everything the normal dualsense has and does but with a plus, the triggers are great for shooter now that you can adjust the travel, the function button is very useful for when you are switching between games, the back paddles are really comfy for those "pro gamers" and the sticks just make this controller future proof if they drift! I only wish the battery life was better but that isn't a deal breaker for me, overall a very very good controller and a worthy opponent for the xbox elite series.

Used this for call of duty hit iri in warzone and crim in mp. If you want to get serious in gaming or at least get better i really do recommend this controller. Still to this day i dont have stick drift. This is my second controller i have bought but this one is for my girlfriend. Only complaint is the battery life like most people say but If you are playing at a desk it really doesnt matter. The triggers are game changing even if they arent mouse click. Ive ordered custom controllers from the two big companies and none of them have lasted me longer then 6 months. Please do yourself a favor lol and give it a shot. So many good features. I love the discord chat to game audio balance that the controller lets you use in game by using the Function buttons below the thumb sticks. The other good thing is the thumb stick grip doesn't wear down like normal ps5 controllers. The grip on the back also feels great mine is slowly coming off and ive seen people bring that up which does suck but again the pros just outweigh the cons so much to the point that it's just not enough for me to not use the controller or recommend It. If you play fps games like fortnite cod r6 or anything like that give it a shot. Btw not proud of this but have over 2000 hours played with this so if you take anything from this please know ive put time into this.

I purchased the Sony Dual Sense Edge controller after my regular Dual Sense controller developed a pretty bad case of stick drift. The controller has a great feel in the hand and feels very solid. It drops right on the Dual Sense Charger which was a plus. The paddles on the back are a welcome edition and by default I have them mapped to L3 & R3. I always seem to move the Sticks a bit when I press that function. The ability to change profiles by using the front buttons is great. My one gripe initially was that the 4 face buttons on the right were a bit soft or mushy to me. They lack a solid tactile click. That being said they work flawlessly. I would buy the Dual Sense Edge again.

Love this controller. Feels heavier and all the extra buttons and features are great. You can change your headphone volume from the controller too which is awesome. Only negative is the battery life goes quicker than a base controller.

I got the DualSense Edge controller for my 13-year-old son for Christmas, and he absolutely loves it. Right out of the box, it felt super high-quality, and he noticed the difference right away with the customizable controls and improved grip. He’s big into gaming, and this has become his go-to controller it’s held up great and really enhanced his experience. Definitely worth it if you’ve got a gamer at home who wants something a little more premium.

I had been following the Dualsense Edge since launch, reading plenty of reviews and watching many videos outlining the features of the controller. TLDR - It was worth the purchase amidst the shorter lifespan than the regular Dualsense controller. While I may not be playing games like Warzone, Apex Legends, or Fortnite, I’ve found that the hardware customizations, such as trigger responses and adding various shortcuts have really made games more engaging and more tactical. Games like Returnal, Beakpoint, Genshin Impact feel more responsive and with the function buttons, swapping to up to 4 different controller mappings is quick and seamless. The biggest surprise was the hard case in houses the Dualsense Edge. It’s eye-catching, and can be brought with you protected when thrown in a bag. The controller in its case is a statement in my living room and is eye-catching when opened. While I do have the Sony Dualsense Charging Dock, I preferred to keep the controller separate from docking. Setup was very simple and the on-screen instructions were clear. I also swapped out the thin sticks with others that were included for my own gaming comfort, which was very simple to do. The controller feels center-weighted and a bit heavier than the original controller, which to me makes it feel more comfortable and that I’m holding something in my hands — premium definitely! If you’ve watched and read lot of reviews like I did, the Dualsense Edge was spoiled because of everyone’s opinions. I was glad I went out and bought it to try it for myself and it changed my initial thoughts. If you can grab one, I highly suggest it!

Hefty, feels great. I play racing games and I use the back panels as shifters. The back buttons are great because you can program them to replace any other buttons to make it more accessible I also like that you can switch out the analog sticks to the height you prefer. The only gripe I have is that I would’ve liked it to have a bit more of battery life.

Perfect controller for gaming! Using a regular controller just doesn't do it for me anymore. The warranty added through Best Buy is perfect with it. Just remember to purchase the warranty with the purchase. Controller dropped by a 6 year old and 11 year old consistently while gaming for a year straight with no damage. Pretty solid! You can tweak the deadzone and trigger responses along with rearranging button functions for different have. Can save up to four (4) different profiles of button reconfiguration.

    A Game-Changing Controller – Precision, Comfort!

I recently picked up the Sony DualSense Edge Wireless Controller for my PS5, and it has completely transformed my gaming experience. If you’re looking for a premium, customizable controller that offers incredible precision, comfort, and features, the DualSense Edge is a must-have! Performance & Precision: The performance of the DualSense Edge is outstanding. The adaptive triggers and haptic feedback make every game feel more immersive, and the customizable trigger stops are perfect for fast-paced, competitive gameplay like shooters or racing games. You can adjust the sensitivity of the triggers, so you get that perfect balance between a soft pull for rapid firing and a firmer pull for precision. The level of control and accuracy is second to none. Customization: What sets this controller apart is the customization options. The rear buttons and interchangeable thumbsticks let you tailor the controller to your preferences. I particularly love the remappable buttons—it’s a game-changer for those who like to have quick access to specific actions in-game. The ability to swap out the thumbsticks also allows you to fine-tune your grip, whether you want a tall stick for precision or a shorter one for quick movement. It’s the ultimate controller for players who want to optimize their playstyle. Comfort & Build Quality: The build quality is premium—the controller feels solid and durable without being too heavy. The ergonomics are top-notch, with a design that fits comfortably in your hands for long gaming sessions. The soft-touch materials on the grips provide extra comfort and prevent slippage during intense moments. The mildly textured surface on the back ensures a secure hold, making it easy to maintain a comfortable grip even after hours of play. Battery Life: The battery life is excellent for a high-performance controller, lasting for a solid amount of hours even with the advanced features turned on. The fact that it also includes a USB-C charging cable is convenient, and the charging dock (sold separately) is a nice addition for those who want to keep everything organized and ready to go. Audio & Communication: The built-in microphone is surprisingly clear, and the 3.5mm audio jack works perfectly for connecting wired headsets. I’ve had no issues with lag or distortion while using it for voice chat, which is great for multiplayer games. Aesthetic & Design: The Black/White color scheme is sleek and modern, maintaining the signature look of the PS5. It’s a visually stunning controller that complements the console perfectly, but what I love most is the customizable back panels and the ability to make it truly your own. The LED light strips give the controller a futuristic vibe, adding an extra layer of style. Conclusion: The DualSense Edge is, without a doubt, one of the best controllers I’ve ever used. It combines premium performance, customization, and comfort in one package, making it an excellent choice for both casual players and competitive gamers. If you’re serious about gaming and want a controller that adapts to your unique playstyle, this is definitely worth the investment. Sony has raised the bar with this one—highly recommended!

Great weight to it. Perfect for all type of games. The fact that you can replace the stick modules in case you get stick drift is a huge W. Battery life issue? Havent had a problem with mine. If you’re playing longer than 6 hours non stop, then you should be wired in the first place. Another big plus is the customization interface within PS. Also, being able to control your headset volume using the fn keys is great. Haven’t experienced any peeling or discoloration, although im very clean/meticulous and sometimes use a skin on it. Hard protectove case included. I can charge it from the case and/or from the charging dock? SOLD!
