Love the controller but that battery life!!

So, I tried the other two options, that PDP and Razer controllers and by them not having vibration, I had to return both, so I couldn't wait to get the DSE controller and I love everything from the grips to the swappables, thr nice case, to the back paddles, but, Sony, that battery life sucks. Come on, Sony, my Series X Elite controller lasts at least 30 hours. I literally played a PS4 game, Days Gone lasy weekend, and one sitting I had to charge the controller twice. Twice, and that game barely uses vibration. The battery barely last 4-5 hours, and that really bothered me for the firt time, so now, I primarily use the controller plugged in. Other than the battery, it is what I wanted for a PS5 Pro controller.

Best PS5 controller, but has only 2 cons

Let me get the cons out the way, they're both kinda subjective... the battery life is shorter, as the battery installed is 33% smaller. And there's only 2 back buttons/paddles, where some people may want 4. Neither of those affect me personally as i only want 2 buttons and my play sessions are never long enough to even see the low battery warning, but if it's not enough for you then avoid this. Everything else about the controller is the best available. No Dualsense features were sacrificed, it still works with the official charge stand, and it's easy to set up profiles and switch them on the fly. The removable thumb stick modules should mean you'll never have to buy a new controller if this starts drifting, unlike all the other $200 controllers out there.

It's great! What else can I say it feels just like the original dual sense but a little heavier and actually maybe even step up in certain areas. Are you grip your hands feel better the little PlayStation symbols on the triggers. I may not a heavy competitive gamer. I never run out of battery on this controller. I'm sure most people will get this controller are much bigger into gaming than me but I bought it to replace my original controller which got the dreaded stick drift. Customizable buttons are great as are the function buttons. There are a lot of customizations built into the OS specifically for this controller very nice.

    A Gamer's Delight

DualSense Edge Controller - A Gamer's Delight I recently got my hands on the latest PlayStation DualSense Edge controller, and I can't help but share my excitement about this gaming accessory. As an avid gamer, the controller is an extension of myself, and I was pleasantly surprised by the features and experience it brought to my gaming sessions. Design and Comfort (5/5): The first thing that struck me was the sleek design of the controller. Sony has perfected the art of crafting a comfortable and ergonomic gaming tool. It fits perfectly in my hands, and the button placement is intuitive, allowing for hours of gaming without discomfort. The textured grips are a nice touch, giving that extra bit of control during intense gameplay. Precision and Responsiveness (5/5): The controller's precision and responsiveness are top-notch. Every button press and joystick movement feels incredibly accurate, which is crucial, especially in fast-paced games. I've noticed a significant improvement in aiming and movement controls compared to the previous generation controller. This level of precision elevates the gaming experience. Adaptive Triggers and Haptic Feedback (5/5): The adaptive triggers and haptic feedback add a new dimension to gaming. The adaptive triggers provide varying resistance, making in-game actions feel more realistic. Whether it's drawing a bowstring or revving a car's engine, you can feel it. The haptic feedback, on the other hand, offers a level of immersion I haven't experienced before. Sensations like raindrops or footsteps are not just heard; they're felt. It's a game-changer. Battery Life (4/5): The battery life is solid, but not outstanding. It lasts several hours on a full charge, which is usually enough for most gaming sessions. However, I wish it could last a bit longer. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's something to be aware of. Connectivity and Compatibility (5/5): Connecting the controller to the console is a breeze, and it works seamlessly with the PlayStation 5. Final Thoughts: In conclusion, the controller is a remarkable piece of gaming technology. It excels in design, precision, and immersion, providing an exceptional gaming experience. While battery life could be improved, the overall quality of this controller is outstanding. Whether you're into action, racing, or sports games, this controller takes your gaming to the next level. It's more than just a controller; it's a gamer's delight.

    Almost perfect

I love the controller except for one thing. The back paddles are not good. They work fine it's just the shape that I don't like. They just feel kind of wimpy. They're just really on the smaller side and I can barely reach them when I'm playing a game like Call of Duty. The PS4 back button attachment was awesome and worked perfectly for me. If the back buttons/paddles on this controller were similar to that it would be perfect.

Best PC Controller on The Market

Fantastic build quality, easy connection/setup on Windows, excellent support for controller-first games through Steam with good default configurations. I upgraded from a DualShock 4 that had finally reached the end of its useful life after nearly a decade. I love that the thumbsticks of the DualSense are DESIGNED to be user-replaceable, since that was the last straw when my DualShock sticks started jumping all over the place randomly and uncontrollably. iFixit has detailed tear-downs and step-by-step instructions for repairs, like replacing the battery. I anticipate this controller should be very possible for me to take good care of and will serve me well for quite a long time. The USB-C connection is SO MUCH better than the DS4 Micro-USB one. The fit is very secure and clicky; should be much more resistant to wearing out. I've never used a controller with back-paddles, so I wasn't sure what to expect there, but they're quite handy. So far, I find them most useful for parry/perfect-guard on the left and alternate bind for "Y"/Triangle on the right, but they're very customizable (even through Steam w/o the native support on PS5). It would be nice if there were two pairs of paddles, like on the XBox Elite controller, but ultimately the PS-style inline-thumbsticks control layout is more significant to me. The ONLY gripe I can think of is that the battery life is a little lackluster. The USB cable is nice quality, though, and is about as unobtrusive as a cable can be, so it's not the worst to play with it connected. As long as I plug it back in to charge after using it wirelessly, the battery is rarely an issue.

The removable analog sticks make stick drift a problem of the past, you can use the back paddles for optional button bindings for professional/competitive gameplay.

Great controller. Makes adjusting volume settings during games a breeze, I like the separate profiles allowing one for differing games or games modes. Battery life is a little low but not a concern for me. Nice carry case included.

The reactions time on this controller is awesome. I love the bottom paddles. The changeable thumbsticks make huge difference. The downfall is the battery life. The battery only last 2-3 hours before needing to be recharged. This can be increased by turning off led and the trigger features.

    Better Than Expected

This is my first ever pro controller and it was definitely worth ir. Disclaimir i did receive this as a bday gift. I was hesitant on buying tbis controller simply cause $200 is outlandish. However what you are given is quality. Everything from the case down to the cable is qualiry. This controller shines in the software however. After using it for about a week i can say it is definitely worth it if you serious about gaming but im sure there is other controllers out there that may be cheaper that gets the job done. But this has instantly helped me when it comes to Rainbow Six. In terms of batteryblife sure it can be betterr but for me i maybe on average game for about 4 hours and it has lasted the whole four hours and im sure it could have lasted longer. Battery concerns is just a tad bit overblown in my opinion.

    A must have

If you are a competitive gamer or take your gaming serious this is the must have controller. The sticks are interchangeable, so if you get stick drift you can just change out the one that’s having issues with a new one, no buying a whole new controller. The R2/L2 buttons are adjustable, has paddles and buttons to add the back of the controller to reset the controllers buttons to your preference. Overall this is the way to go…. I like it so much I got 2 of them, so when one dies I grab the next one and keep going without having to go back to long trigger pulls abs throw my gaming off……. You will not go wrong with this controller

Best PS5 Controller On the Market

I was thrilled to see Sony release a first-party pro controller. The controller looks and feels premium. The paddles on the back work flawlessly. The glossy black finish does not bother me. The short battery life doesn't bother me. The price is actually on par or cheaper than other competitor's controllers. I love the details put into this as well as the case. I feel like there could be a little more customizability in the software itself. Also, I think the triggers need one additional setting more than they have, but let's be honest; adjustable triggers via the switches is pretty awesome. It will be interesting to see how it withstands the test of time.

Loving it so far. Battery lasted 5 hours for me which is more than enough per charge. Actually enjoy the half moon triggers more than the triggers on my xbox elite controller. Its heavier than the regular Dual Sense as well. I think it states that it weighs the same but it definitely is heavier which i like. Changing the triggers range is a game changer as well. It has the pre ser triggers on the rear but you can also customize it with the software on the PS5. Which on another note is very well done, there are multiple profiles and a slew of options to change and customize it for multiple games.

I have tired every controller on the market, even the really expensive ones, scuf, etc.. The only controller I like more than this one is a ps4 controller I custom built, this one is the only pro controller worth the money, the paddles are in a good place that makes sense, they give you the option of easily replaceable sticks to future proof. Don't think just do it, you wont regret it.

Controller feels great, plays great, earns the three stars. 4th star would have been for more than 2 mappable back buttons. A standard 4 button layout like found on Xbox elite and other 3rd party companies would have been much preferable. 5th star would have been battery life. Battery is atrocious for the cost of the controller. Luckily it’s got a long recharging cable with clamps to keep it secured in, but I bought a wireless controller, it would be nice to get through one 3 hour gaming session without a low battery warning.
