Don't buy other brands because they aren't as precise, unless that's not a concern and you're OK with mediocre. I've bought plenty of controllers and I've had to return many or smashed many new simply on the lack of sensitivity and huge dead zones in the joysticks. That or they freak out and lose calibration. Small moves or anything by that point you over exaggerate small movements. Longevity I don't know yet but, quality is hands down or hands on.

I have been through 3 of these in 4 years. The thumbsticks just simply do not last a year. You will almost always experience stick drift within a year of use. Make sure you get the warranty through best buy. They will replace for $25. Otherwise i am very happy with the way the controller feels in my hands. The haptic feedback is so fantastic! You can feel raindrops and footsteps in your hands which adds significant immersion. Buttons feel good and smooth. Overall a good, not great controller.
