Only giving it 3 stars because of the applicability and usability of using a second controller. For any sort of use you will need a second PlayStation account(or use as a guest each time). For some games you will need an additional account for their respective servers as well. I wanted a second controller to play with friends when they visit, and technically it gets the job done. However, it was a bit complicated for me to figure out how to use individual games with multiple controllers. For example, for COD Cold War, you need a second PlayStation account (guest option won’t work), and a second Activision account. The worst part is that the new account will be on a low level, so unless you manually up the level, your friends will have a poor load out. Overall I think a second controller is nicer in theory than in actual application.
