Best to always pay for the protection plan on controllers, you will be glad you did!!

I will say that it does look pretty cool and you don't notice any dirt or smudges like on the white controller. If you're lucky to have a PS5 then I suggest getting this! If you're playing with a friend then there's no mistaking which controller belongs to who.
