    Sony DualSense - Chroma Indigo

Sony has revised their controller design over years, and the current DualSense, for the PS5, inherits the best of the previous DualShock controllers. I think that we are generally well past the point of Xbox-vs-PlayStation controllers; If you prefer one, then that’s nice. Most modern PC gaming can work well with either by now, so you only get locked into one style if you’re using that specific console. And honestly, both are great controllers. It’s just preference. Where the Sony DualSense differentiates itself is with the unique touchpad (like the DS4 before it), and the adaptive haptics and trigger feedback. These are potentially really cool to use, when games take advantage of the features… But most don’t use more than a portion of that functionality. Team Asobi’s Astro Bot titles are almost the only ones to go “all in” on those features. And some other games do try to use the trigger feedback to provide more player info regarding things like bow/arrow, recoil, tension, etc. And many more use a bit of the rumble and haptics. It is capable of a very “HD” level of feedback, which can convey the surface on which a characters walks or drives, down to the tiniest details. Still comes down to how well a game implements it. This color variant is nice, although it doesn’t quite have the same textured feel in hand as the more matte versions. But it looks stellar, if this is your style. I like this one about as much as the Chroma Pearl. Otherwise, it’s the same controller - Pretty durable, decent battery life, all the audio features (mic, speaker, audio jack), and the nice USB-C rechargeable battery. I do recommend the Sony charging dock, which uses contacts below the analog sticks, rather than having to plug/unplug all the time. There are a few third party versions which are okay too, like one by Razer, but it’s only for single controllers. The only “con” worth mentioning is that the price just hasn’t ever gone down on these, and like most video game consoles, accessories, or software, prices only seem to go up. I only purchase extra controllers while there is a sale, so it was very exciting to see these special edition ones drop enough for me to rationalize getting one. Overall, still a great controller. It’s the only real controller for PS5, and works pretty nicely for PC gaming too. The color is up to your taste. Many of the features are just not utilized by all of the games, but it’s cool what they’ve packed into this thing. Value is the only point where I get hesitant, just because of the price.

Undurable product, stick drift usually occurs within one year of day to day use. Recommend forking the extra 130 for the better controller.

I’ve used a lot of controllers over the years, but the PS5 DualSense honestly feels like a step into the future of gaming. The first thing you notice is the comfort—Sony really nailed the ergonomics. It fits naturally in my hands, even during longer sessions, and the textured grip keeps it from slipping. What really makes it stand out, though, are the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. Pulling back a bowstring in Horizon Forbidden West or feeling the tension of a gas pedal in Gran Turismo—it’s so immersive that I catch myself grinning. It adds a whole new layer of connection to the game. Battery life is solid, though not endless—I usually get a good 10–12 hours before needing a charge. USB-C charging is quick and way more convenient than micro-USB days. And the built-in mic is surprisingly handy when I don’t want to grab my headset. All in all, the DualSense isn’t just a controller, it’s part of the experience. Once you get used to the haptics and triggers, it’s hard to go back to anything else. If you’re picking up a PS5 or even looking for a second controller, this is absolutely worth it.

Haptic Feedback That Feels Real The first time you experience haptic feedback on the DualSense, it’s honestly kind of mind-blowing. It’s not just random rumbling—it’s nuanced and precise. You can feel the difference between walking on metal, sand, or snow. It pulls you deeper into the world of the game in a way no other controller ever has. Adaptive Triggers That Respond to You This is where the DualSense really shines. The adaptive triggers (L2 and R2) can change resistance on the fly, depending on the in-game action. Drawing back a bowstring, slamming the brakes in a car, or firing a weapon—all feel distinct and responsive. It adds a layer of immersion that makes you feel the tension, literally. Built-In Mic and Speaker for Quick Access Need to jump into a party chat or send a voice message without grabbing a headset? The DualSense has you covered with a built-in microphone and speaker. It’s a small touch that adds a lot of convenience, especially in quick, casual sessions. Comfort and Design: A Big Step Up The DualSense feels amazing in your hands—slightly larger than the DualShock 4, with a more ergonomic grip and better button feedback. The textured back adds grip without feeling rough, and the layout is familiar yet refined. It’s solid, responsive, and built for long gaming sessions. Battery Life: Decent, But Not Perfect The one area that could use improvement is battery life. With all the haptics, adaptive triggers, and built-in tech, the battery can drain faster than expected, especially during intense play sessions. But it’s a fair trade-off for all the immersive features—and it charges fairly quickly via USB-C.

I think the controller has a glitch in it, so when I use it it takes a minute for me to press the buttons so that they can work again and my joy sticks work but when I use them in a driving game the car doesn’t turn at all.

This PS5 controller is hands down the best controller I’ve ever used. The build quality feels solid and comfortable, even during long gaming sessions. The adaptive triggers and haptic feedback at a whole new level of immersion you can actually feel what’s happening in the game. Button response is smooth and precise, the grip feels great, and the battery life holds up well. Whether I’m playing action games, sports, or shooters, everything feels more responsive and engaging. Overall, this controller takes gaming to the next level and makes every game more fun to play. Definitely a must have for a PS5 owner.

I've been using the DualSense controller for a while now and it has exceeded my expectations. The build quality feels premium, the buttons are responsive, and the controller is very comfortable to hold during long gaming sessions. The adaptive triggers and haptic feedback add a new level of immersion that makes games feel more engaging and realistic. Battery life is decent, and connecting it to my PS5 and PC was simple. The Midnight Black color looks sleek and gives the controller a premium appearance. Overall, this is one of the best controllers I've used and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality gaming controller.

Incorrect item condition status. Controller was a different finish suggesting it was pulled from a system combo and returned to Best Buy, rather than a returned loose sold controller. Also the headset connection port was cracked, which I would consider fair used condition, not excellent.

This is a backup controller so I haven't used it after purchasing. I finally decided to use and noticed that the dark plastic corner of the left side of the controller was loose. It seems that there are two tabs that need to lock into notches in the connecting plastic housing, but there is only one notch. The corner sticks out and can easily be pulled off from the controller. What's worse is that it digs into your hand when you are using it. Not happy at all about this, especially after paying extra for this camo skin. I wish I noticed it sooner or I would have returned it immediately.

I absolutely love the look of the Gray Camouflage pattern on this controller—it looks even better in person than in pictures. Aside from the awesome aesthetic, it performs exactly as you’d expect a DualSense to. The haptic feedback and adaptive triggers are incredible in games that support them, and the controller feels incredibly comfortable for long gaming sessions. Battery life is standard, but the style points make this a great addition to my setup. Highly recommend if you want to swap out the standard white controller.

The Sony DualSense Wireless Controller in Midnight Black is a stellar accessory that takes gaming to new heights. This controller deserves a full five-star rating for its innovative features, superior comfort, and sleek design. Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers: One of the most impressive aspects of the DualSense controller is its advanced haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. The haptic feedback provides nuanced vibrations that enhance the gaming experience, making you feel every action, from the gritty texture of driving off-road to the recoil of firing a weapon. The adaptive triggers offer variable resistance, adding a new layer of immersion by simulating the tension of pulling a bowstring or the pressure of braking in a racing game. Design and Comfort: The Midnight Black color gives the DualSense controller a sophisticated and modern look. The design is both ergonomic and comfortable, fitting naturally in your hands. The textured grips on the back and the refined shape ensure that long gaming sessions remain comfortable. The controller is well-balanced, and the buttons and triggers are easily accessible and responsive. Performance and Responsiveness: Performance-wise, the DualSense controller excels. The buttons are crisp, and the analog sticks are smooth and precise. The touchpad adds an extra layer of control and interactivity, while the built-in microphone and speaker allow for quick communication and immersive audio experiences. The controller's responsiveness makes it ideal for a wide range of games, from fast-paced shooters to intricate puzzle games. Battery Life: The battery life of the DualSense controller is solid, offering several hours of continuous gameplay on a single charge. It charges via USB-C, which is convenient and ensures fast charging times. However, as with any wireless controller, keeping a charging cable or a charging dock nearby is a good idea to ensure you're always ready to play. Additional Features: The DualSense controller also features a built-in motion sensor, which adds another dimension to gameplay, particularly in games that utilize motion controls. The create button replaces the previous share button, making it easier to capture and share your gaming moments with friends. Conclusion: In summary, the Sony DualSense Wireless Controller in Midnight Black is a game-changer in the world of gaming peripherals. Its innovative features, such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, provide an immersive and enhanced gaming experience. Combined with its comfortable design and reliable performance, this controller is a must-have for any PlayStation 5 owner. If you want to elevate your gaming setup, the DualSense controller is the way to go.

I recently picked up the Sony PS5 DualSense Wireless Controller, and it has completely transformed my gaming experience. From the moment I unboxed it, I could tell this was a step up from previous PlayStation controllers. First off, the ergonomics are fantastic. The controller fits comfortably in my hands, even during long gaming sessions. The textured grips provide a secure hold, and the overall weight is just right—not too heavy, but not too light. I never feel fatigued, even during hours of play. The adaptive triggers are a game-changer. They add a level of immersion that I didn’t realize I was missing. Whether it’s the tension of drawing a bowstring or the resistance of pressing down on a car’s accelerator, the triggers provide haptic feedback that makes gameplay feel more interactive and realistic. Speaking of haptic feedback, the vibrations are incredibly precise, offering a wide range of sensations that really bring games to life, from subtle rumbles to more intense, impactful vibrations. The built-in microphone is also a nice touch. While I usually use a headset for voice chat, it’s great to have the option to chat directly through the controller if needed. The create button is another handy feature for capturing and sharing gameplay, making it easier to record or stream your moments. The battery life is solid, lasting for hours of uninterrupted gaming, and it charges quickly via USB-C, which is another plus. Overall, the DualSense controller is a phenomenal upgrade and truly enhances the gaming experience on the PS5. Whether you’re into action-packed shooters or immersive story-driven adventures, the added features like adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and intuitive design make this controller one of the best on the market. Highly recommend it to any PS5 owner!
