Tried taking it apart to clean and found the mechanism that broke. Tried replacing it ourselves and it was ok but not great. Just gave in and bought a new one. It sucks to spend this kind of money when the actual console costs so much as is, but it is obsolete without a functioning controller

Also the controller had really bad stick drift once used. I would recommend checking the box before leaving the store.
