I had to buy it due to for some reason PlayStation not putting them with the slim version like they did the first version. Ended up getting a rgb stand with controller charger ports, game holder/organizer "10 games" and it cools the system off.

After spending +$700, it’s borderline criminal to have to pay extra for a stand. The bottom screw to attach it to the console is also plastic now, which makes it more susceptible to breaking when installing it with a flathead screwdriver. Overall, I don’t think you’re losing anything by going for a third party stand.

Set up is easy. Stand is not the most sturdy and blocks the vents at the bottom of the console. Tried numerous times to get the slim to stand and not wobble if you touch it but was unable to. For a "premium" product from Sony I expected more.

If you don't have space and need to get a vertical stand then go for it
