    I used to have the Pulse 3D headset but needed to upgrade. I assumed another Sony headset wouldn’t be bad, I was almost wrong. This headset is very uncomfortable, the ear muffs were very warm and retained heat, my friends said the microphone sounds low quality. The only good part was the battery life and having the ability to have Game/Chat audio and Bluetooth going at the same time.

    The Sony INZONE H7 Wireless Gaming Headset is a great gaming headset for both the PS5 and PC. This headset is the next generation of audio from Sony, building on the Pulse 3D headset that was released with the Playstation 5. In my opinion, the INZONE H7 is better in almost every way than the Pulse 3D. Out of the box, this headset feels very solid and durable. The outside is matte white while the inner color is matte black. The ear cups are large and circular, with 40mm drivers and nylon on the outside of the ear cushions. The headband has a nice, soft cushion. The microphone boom is bendable and adjustable but not removeable, and rotates up to mute. It comes with a USB dongle with a slide toggle for either PS5 or PC usage. It also comes with a USB charging cord. On the left side, there is the mic boom, volume dial, and USB C charging port. On the right side, there is a game/chat button, Bluetooth connection button, and the power button. Aesthetically speaking, this looks like a gaming headset. I happen to really like the large, round earcups with the bright white exterior; it has a futuristic, robotic look to it. But, they would probably look somewhat out of place in an office/professional setting. The INZONE H7 feels very comfortable on my head. They are well-balanced from a weight perspective so that I didn't even notice I was wearing the headset after the first hour. I wear glasses so pressure from the earcups that causes discomfort is a pet peeve. I was pleased to note that the INZONE H7 was able to make a firm connection around my ear without any discomfort from the stems of my glasses. The H7 does not come with active noise cancelling, however I can say that most everyday noises do not penetrate the earcup so I didn't feel I was missing that feature. To use the headset with the PS5, slide the switch on the dongle to PS5 and plug the dongle into a port on the PS5 itself. Power up the headset and it automatically connects to the dongle. To use the headset with PC, slide the switch on the dongle to PC and plug the dongle into an open port on your computer. Again, power up the headset and it will connect to the dongle. A nice feature is that you can connect to your phone via Bluetooth at the same time so that you can answer any calls that come in while you're gaming. There is INZONE Hub software that can be downloaded for the PC that allows access to the sound equalizer and some microphone settings. There is also an app that can be downloaded to a phone that allows for the personalization of spatial sound based on the shape of your ear, which can then be linked to the INZONE Hub software. I tried the headset with both my PS5 and PC, and the sound production is great for both. The H7 produces 2 channel stereo audio that is put into 7.1 channel surround sound. I played several FPS and racing games, and the positional audio is both clear and accurate. I tend to not like headsets that can't produce bass tones, but this headset does bass very well so that you hear a good balance of tones. The game/chat toggle works as advertised. On the PC, the H7 worked just as well. Music sounded great, games sounded great, and chat was crisp and clear. I asked for feedback from others on how I sounded on the mic and received feedback that my voice was coming through very clearly. It advertises 40 hours of use on a single charge, and that seems accurate as I am approaching 40 hours without needing to recharge. I would reccomend these for any PS5 or PC gamer with no hesitation. The INZONE H7 looks good and sounds good. It feels very comfortable and blocks out noise naturally. It has a definite gamer/futuristic look, but it matches the PS5's look. The INZONE H7 is the definitive Sony headset to get for the PS5.

  • Not an upgrade from 3D Pulse IMO

    I upgraded from Sony's 3D Pulse headset for my PS5. First game played with my friends using the PS5 chat, and my friend immediately said, "why do you sound like a robot?" There's no audio settings to change on the PS5. The headset also doesn't have as much bass than the 3D Pulse headset. It is much more comfortable, though. Going to try the Inzone app on the PC to see if changing settings save to the headset and carry over to my PS5. If not, I'm going to return it.

    I was debating on whether to spend the extra money to get the H9 for active noise cancelling, but I'm glad I didn't. The ear cups block out enough noise on there own. The battery life is excellent. They are very lightweight. I haven't had any connection issues connecting to both the USB adapter and Bluetooth at the same time. The mic quality is excellent, and they sound great. They are very comfortable to wear for long gaming sessions. I picked these up at $150 on sale, which was almost half the price of the H9.

    Pretty great set of headphones, I love the ability to have it connected to two things at a time often allowing me to talk to friends or groupmates on my phone while still hearing the action that's going on in the game. The functionality that pairs with the Playstation 5 is also a really neat edition to the already wide list of specs it has along with the ability to also use 3D sense which is a pretty enjoyable and unique way to play games especially those that are competitive!

    The Sony INZONE H7 headset looks like a fairly bulky, but the fact is the headset is quite lite! The headset borrows style points from the PS5 and matched the plates that come preinstalled on the console. The headset also has some cushions that are really comfortable they are great for long sessions and soft enough that I can slide my glasses on and off, and not feel the pressure of the bands on the side of my head. The headset ear cups move fairly independently on a point which I think helps since they can sit without too much pressure thanks to thae design. The Headset takes advantage of the 3D Spatial audio to create a more immersive experience, the headset itself sounds fairly good. I'm not too into messing with EQs, but I feel the default sound profile works good for gaming. In battle royales it is easy to tell which side of you battles are happening, and the 3D sound is helpful in Returnal to know enemies are attacking from the side or back while battling others to help react. I love headsets that can use simultaneous bluetooth and 2.4GHz, so I typically have it paired to my phone so I can listen to music freely and control it separately than with my console or PC, and can easily watch vids or anything else i'd like while between matches or waiting for my squad to respawn me :-) The USB receiver works similar to the Playstation Pulse headset and has a toggle for PC or PS5, I do prefer this headset over my pulse and enjoy having a boom mic that mutes when you have it positioned up. Overall, I am happy with this headset and it is currently my favorite headset to jump back and forth between my PS5 and PC. The headset is a little bit of a spike over the H3, but I really don't like being tethered to my console or having to put my headset down to walk over and grab something away from the couch. H7 don't have the noise cancelling of the H9 but I think the noise isolation with these pads are well enough!

  • Research the Vinyl Lining on the Headband

    These were initially awesome! However, if you search online, the vinyl liner in the headband peels away and then you're stuck trying to repeatedly tuck it back in. I used a little super glue and a mini flat blade screwdriver. Would not purchase again.
