Amazing sound, steep price, comically bad mic

This headset offers a premium style and sound quality but is not perfect. Pros: Sound - In reading other reviews, I anticipate Sony will reply to this review explaining all about the 360 spatial sound which is truly impressive. It offers a listening experience that is above any other gaming headset I have used to date which is what you would expect from Sony. Design/ build - The design aesthetics of this headset are incredibly sleek. The ear cushions and headband are nice and the usbc port is efficient to charge the very long lasting battery Cons: Microphone: now I know that most gaming headsets are not known for extremely high quality microphones, but in my testing this mic falls laughably short of passable. I will NEVER use this mic which makes it completely useless to not be able to remove or hide like other competitors Price: this is going to be an individual preference, but for me I just don't think this is really worth the price. I think you pay a premium for the look and sony brand. Conclusion: if you are looking for the best sound while gaming and enjoy the aesthetic of this headset, you will not be dissapointed but it will not be fire everyone. Try before you buy if possible.

Just disappointed in Sony for this one.

If I twist, bend, and fiddle it around, sometimes I can get the mic to stay active without holding it, but for the most part it must be manually held in a "sweet spot" if I want to get a whole sentence through. The quality of the sound is not bad but the volume is abysmal. Volume at 40% on my Corsair HS55 is louder than the Inzone H7 at 125%. You simply cannot turn up the volume enough on this headset.
