In this review I’ll be testing out the new Sony InZone H7 wireless gaming headset for PC and PS5. My review will be limited to how these perform on the PS5. I’ll be changing up my review to present the TLDR version right up top in case you don’t want to read the whole thing, so let’s get into it!
Overall Impressions:
I think I like this headset? It’s super comfortable, easy to use and even though its design is different and big, it matches the PS5 very well. For the price I really expected a bit more from the sound signature of this headset and maybe even a charging cradle, or cool travel case though.
However, if you’re looking for the best Sony branded headset for your PS5, this is definitely a step above any other Sony offering in the past, but still leaves a bit to be desired. Adding an equalizer option to the PS5 for this headset would definitely remedy some, if not all of the sound issues in my opinion, so I hope we see that coming sooner than later. For right now, I can’t give this headset my recommendation though as there are just way too many better sounding options on the market that have the feature set as the Sony InZone H7s.
Appearance:
The first thing you’ll notice is how big and white this headset is. It may be one of the biggest headsets I own and that’s saying something. The design is very much inspired by the Playstation 5 as the console itself is very big and white. There are some black accents and black ear cups, but overall they’re pretty minimalistic looking and other than the big size, wouldn’t stand out in any discenerable way. There’s no RGB to be had here and no fancy design, but they look decent.
Build Quality:
These headphones are very light, which is impressive due to packing enough battery for 40 hours of play time. That means you’ll be recharging less and playing more. 40 hours up at the top for wireless headsets of this caliber, especially ones with bluetooth connectivity and bigger audio drivers. Build quality seems solid, however dropping these on a hard floor might result in some damage as they are primarily made of plastic. I believe this is to keep the weight down, but it’s definitely noticeable in comparison to other headsets in this price range.
Comfort:
Comfort is pretty subjective, but I have to say that the Sony InZone H7 fit my giant head just fine. Yes, I had to extend the band to the furthest setting, but after that they felt comfy and the clamping force was adequate but not overbearing. I was able to wear these for several hours without any pain or discomfort with their plush fabric ear cups that didn’t make me sweat much at all. The padding on the top of the headband also seemed adequate as I didn’t feel any pressure up there. I could however see the size of this headset being an issue for people with smaller heads though, as the ear cups would absolutely envelop a smaller head. I’d say try these at a store if possible before ordering if you have a smaller than average head as this is a very large headset.
Sound/Microphone:
This is where this headset should shine, right? When paying a premium price you would typically expect premium sound and performance, right? Well, it’s not that simple unfortunately. While the InZone H7 sounds fine, it doesn’t sound like a $200+ headset. It has all the right qualities that should make it a stellar sounding headset such as bass ports for enhanced lows, low latency 2.4ghz technology, 3d sound support and whatever “symmetric acoustic sound design” is. With all this being advertised, the sound from games like Horizon Forbidden West, Doom Eternal and Gran Turismo 7 were good, but didn’t blow me away. Also, the H7 does not have active noise cancellation, but did a very respectable job passively canceling noise around me due to its closed back design and thick ear cups.
The headset didn’t seem to deliver low enough lows, or high enough highs, but excelled at mids throughout my time gaming with it. This could most likely be easily remedied by having an equalizer function available on the PS5, but that’s not a thing yet, so you’re stuck with the default sound profile that Sony provides, which to me is pretty underwhelming.
3D audio with Sony’s Tempest technology on the PS5 was well defined and the headset was loud enough for my liking, but everything sounded like it could be just a little more vibrant and alive. Overall music sounded a little better when connected to my phone and the native support for AAC is welcomed for Apple users. You’ll be stuck with either SBC or AAC though as it doesn’t support any other codecs currently.
The microphone was also just mediocre. I’ve definitely had headsets with worse microphones, but many headphones provide a much clearer and fuller microphone sound at half the price. Your friends in your party won’t complain, but they won't be able to tell you’re on a brand new Sony headset that costs half as much as your PS5.
Connectivity/Ease of Use:
Set up is as easy as plugging in the USB-C cable to your PS5 and letting the headset come to a complete charge. You can quick charge the headset for 10 minutes to get an hour of battery life from it in case you’re in a pinch though. For the price of the unit I was a little disappointed that it didn’t come with a charging cradle or stand of some sort. You’ll be receiving just the headset and the USB dongle with a slider for PC or PS5 use. Plug in the dongle to a USB port on your PS5, slide the toggle to PS5 and the Playstation 5 does the rest.
Adjustments are pretty basic in the PS5 interface. All you can adjust is 3d audio height as there isn’t an equalizer yet, but I believe if Sony is smart they’ll add one so users can fine tune the sound of the InZone H7 like they can using Sony’s Hub software on PC.
Bluetooth connectivity is just as easy. You’ll be able to connect both your phone and PS5 or PC simultaneously and pipe the audio in from both. This is awesome if you have friends on Discord or want to listen to an audiobook or music while grinding out some quests in a game. Adjusting the volume is super simple with the volume wheel and you can manipulate the chat/game audio mix with 2 dedicated buttons on the headset.
The layout for the button is well designed and everything really works in terms of physical controls on the headset. I don’t think there’s anything I would change on how Sony arranged all the buttons and toggles on the headset. Also, you can flip up the microphone to mute your audio, which is absolutely great and one of the most convenient features to have on a headset.

Well I learned a lesson with these inzone H7. I’m a new PS5 user so wasn’t familiar with any of the older model of this Sony product but after watching and reading some reviews my expectations were tempered.
When I got them first thing I noticed is how NOT heavy they were. They actually feel fantastic, very well made and weight is what you would expect. But the padding… Wow. They really make sure to make these the most comfortable headset that I’ve ever tried. It felt so good and was also great at keeping sounds in (my wife couldn’t even here my music as I was playing the PS5 game with Apple Music.
Sound was excellent! Installation was a breeze (put the usb on PS5 toggle) and the headset is found.
Back to the sound I love it! Plus I like how it has a setting for chat and game so if you are playing with friends you can move the bar closer to the chat this way it is more prevalent then the game sound.
Battery life I have not tried but package says 40 hours?!?!!
Honestly the best headset I ever purchased and tried.
Also very happy I didn’t listen to the negative reviews this product is awesome.

:::Initial impressions:::
I love headphones I have such a big collection of gaming headsets and general use headphones. That being said I couldn’t pass on Sony’s new H line of gaming headphones. I opted for the H7 the middle line of what Sony has to offer. Upon opening the box I am immediately reminded of the XM5 headphones because it seems they share a little in terms of looks. You will find a 2.4Ghz USB dongle and a USB type C cable for charging.
:::General thoughts:::
I was very excited to try this out and I can say that I wasn’t disappointed because it is a PC & PS5 headset that is made by Sony. It makes sense because of they are beginning to realize the potential of releasing their games on PC. That being said I tested it first on PC and installed the Inzone Audio software. I tried it out with a Bluetooth connection and from my experience the software only recognized it when I connected the headset via the dongle.
It wasn’t a flawless set up I had to reset my PC after installation just so that way I could get the headset setup completed. I tested it out on a Windows 10 PC. After that though I didn’t run into any issues.
For me the real meat and potatoes is the dual connection to Bluetooth & my PC at the same time. I really appreciated how the connection was as good as advertised. Not once did I experience any sort of interference while on a phone call or while gaming.
On the left cup you will find the volume wheel which was pretty cool if you ask me it moves with ease and I find it to be more precise than a volume button where you would press by increments. On the right you have the power, Bluetooth and game/chat button. And you will find the foldable mic on the left side as well. I am no fan of foldable microphones and would have rather preferred a detachable mic so that I can use these on the go if I chose to do so. I suppose Sony would rather you spend more on their other headphones but It would most certainly have been a nice option to have.
:::Fit & Sound:::
Now let’s talk about comfort the H7 is most certainly comfortable albeit a little bulky in my opinion but comfortable there is enough padding between the headset and your head. The cups are plush and there is no excess pressure while wearing them so I did not experience any kind of fatigue as you would on some other headphones. I can not speak of durability because I haven’t owned them long enough but I have to say that they look far more durable than the previous generation Sony gaming headphones. The headset has 40mm drivers which I found to produce fairly rich sound good highs and lows and depending upon what content you are watching and what equalizer settings you use you can get these to sound amazing.
I played Cyberpunk 2077 and a few other games, watched some YouTube and found that vocals were good I mainly used the flat setting except for when I was gaming and turned-on bass boost. It didn’t sound excessive and was pretty good I did find myself lowering the volume a tad though as I am not too found of really loud noises. For those of you who are into that sort of thing then turn up the volume and you will find yourself pleasantly surprised.
Next up microphone sound it isn’t anything that will blow you away but that is pretty much the consensus with most of the headsets that are on the market. You will find the microphone to be acceptable and exactly what it is designed to do.
:::Pros & Con’s:::
Pros:
- Super comfortable
- Long lasting battery life
- Seamless dual connection (2.4 & Bluetooth)
- Great sound
- Passive sound isolation is good enough IMO didn’t see the need for ANC
Cons:
- Inzone PC software could use some refining
- These are strictly wireless no hardwired option if your battery dies
- Non detachable microphone
- Microphone is a little better than average
:::Closing thoughts:::
I am pleasantly surprised with the fact that Sony ventured into the PC gaming sector and with the H line it is a great introduction and I can only see Sony offering more refined products in the not-too-distant future.
:::TL;DR:::
If you like Sony products and like gaming then I would say that these are a solid offering. I do not regret getting the H7 I am more than pleased with it and think most consumers would agree so check these out it has solid battery life and good sound and is plenty comfortable and is what you would come to expect from Sony.

Sony Headphone
I have been searching for a perfect set of gaming headphones and Sony might of done it.
In the environmental friendly box I received:
USB transceiver, INZONE H7 headset, USB-C charging cable, and warranty information.
Installing these headphones is very easy. I connected the USB transceiver to one of the ports on the back of my PS5. Make sure you have the switch on the USB transceiver on PS5 before installing. I then installed the USB-C charging cable to the front USB of my PS5. This same charging cable can charge your remote so you can rotate what need’s charge.
From there I turned on my H7 headset and PS5 and they paired automatically. Once paired I went to the PS5 sound audio menu and set my preferences.
Sound quality is incredibly good on the H7 headset. They are made with the PS5 in mind and they integrate well together. Adjustments you make on the headset are sent to the screen for you to see visually and I think that’s a good thing in case I accidentally push a button. No issues with chatting on the H7 headset. I’m heard loud and clear. The gaming sound effects are so good I can hear the environment like it’s intended by the developers. The trees, birds, fire burning all sounds better with the H7 headset.
The spatial audio that Sony advertises is good but so far I haven’t experienced it to be as good as they promoted. In example hearing enemy movements behind walls. Maybe a few more adjustments or updates but for now I get a better sound quality headset that is made for my PS5 compared to my old gaming headset.
Comfort is a big factor for gaming headsets and the H7 INZONE is comfortable for hours. Every material from the H7 headset are soft and smooth. Having the H7 headset wireless adds to comfort because of the extra freedom of movement. The H7 headset are lightweight and some might confuse that for poor quality but I don’t think they are bad quality. I suggest to be careful because it is a new product and it might not be able to handle some abuse. I will not be throwing around $300 headsets so that will not be an issue for me.
Storing the H7 headset when not using or charging is something that Sony I don’t think thought about. Nothing is included for it. No case, no stand, and no dust bag. See my pictures and see my setup to help with a temporary solution if you have not already come up with something better.
The H7 headset is my new favorite gaming headset. They sound great and compliment my PS5 very well. I think it should be a PS5 bundle option.

About
The Sony INZONE H7 headset is designed for gaming in mind. Catering specifically to the PC and PS5, this headset utilizes 360 Spatial Sound to hear every little sound and chat with friends. Added Bluetooth connectivity and a 40 hour battery life will give you lots of options to use this headset.
Packaging and Contents
The packaging seemed pretty standard at first glance. Nothing super fancy as far as design of outer box and interior packaging materials. Upon a closer look, it stated that the package was created without the use of plastics, and that Sony was trying to use a more environmentally-friendly packaging initiative.
Contents included the headset, a 2.4 GHz USB-A Bluetooth receiver, a USB-A to USB-C cord, instructions and some INZONE stickers. There is no storage case or bag like other headsets that I have used.
First Impressions and Comfort
The headphones are a contemporary sleek white with black trim. They go perfectly with the PS5 color scheme. Clean looking, but are large. They have a padded headband and soft padded fabric over-the-ear design. They are comfortable on, but are not the best for smaller sized heads. When moving the headset seems to shift. I could see them being loose on some folks and possibly coming off. The microphone appears to be attached completely, so you’ll have to wear that everywhere you use these. With no travel case and the sheer size of these, I don’t see them being used for travel. These would be much better for in-house, office, or gaming.
Setup
The headphones were easy to setup.
First thing that I did was charge them completely. You’ll need to find a way to charge with a USB cord. Sony recommends charging fully before first use. Charge should last for about 40 hours.
Second, I tried the USB receiver with a PS5. Just plug it into the PS5, make sure that the receiver is set to PS5 and not PC, then turn on the headset and begin using. Control the volume with the wheel. Buttons are pretty intuitive.
Third, I paired the headphones directly with my phone through Bluetooth. I streamed Spotify through them, and I think that they sounded better than with the PS5.
Note, this can be used with a PC in conjunction with the Sony INZONE Hub software. I did not use this as my intentions were to use it mainly with my PS5.
Also to note, I had connected to the USB Receiver on the PS5 and then connected to my phone through Bluetooth. I expected the headset to disconnect from the PS5, but it did not and I could listen to both audio streams at the same time.
Sound
These headphones H7 do not have active noise cancellation, but they do seal really well around the ear keeping quite a bit of background noise out. If you want these with active noise cancellation, you’ll need to look at the next step up (H9).
PS5 – Initially, I thought that I had an issue with the headset because my audio kept clipping. After researching and testing some more, I found that I actually have an issue with my PS5 (boo!). The internet speed seems to be low (even though I have 500mb) and it was causing a bad stream with the Disney app. I used the Prime app and it did not have the same issue. The audio quality using the headphones was well done. The sounds seemed to come from all directions and the audio was clear. I would have liked to have had more high and less mid-range, but overall they did pretty well. Distance did not seem to phase the stream. They sounded the same from 3 feet away from the receiver as they did 20 feet from the receiver.
Bluetooth through Phone – Sound quality while connected to my phone was pretty impressive. Spotify sounded great, and I tried all kinds of music genres. Now, I have several headphones, and while these were not the best (or most expensive) headphones, they sounded really good. It was crisp and clear. Better bass and highs during the music stream.
Overall, I do think that the headphones sounded good. They are bulky and not ideal for travel, but they are nice for gaming, streaming, and music. I am giving the Sony INZONE H7 headset 4 stars.

Summary:
These are a very well-built set of headphones with a creative design, good sound and good ease of use. It is only compatible with PC and PS5 so be aware of that prior to purchase if you are intending to use with an Xbox.
Pros:
-Stylish
-Good quality build
-Good overall audio quality
-Good microphone
-USB-C
-RF Dongle
Cons:
-Software is a little too simple
-Initial setup issues on PC
-Limited audio resolution/bitrate on PC
-No Xbox compatibility
Unboxing:
The box is typical Sony styling which means basic design. It is a white and purple box with few details of the product. Inside there is warranty information, a USB-C to USB-A cable for charging, an RF dongle and the headphones.
Setup:
I primarily used this with my PC. I first charged it which took an hour or two. I first tried it with the USB dongle. If using on a laptop, the USB dongle sticks out a good 1 ½” or so. The adaptor has a switch on the side for PC or PlayStation. I tried to download the Sony INZONE Software from the Sony website but each time the website crashed. I found another link on the Sony India site and it worked like charm. Hopefully this issue is fixed soon. Within the software I also tried to setup Spatial audio which requires a Sony login but again the link did not work. I gave it a few days and it did start to work so maybe it was just a bad day. The Spatial audio setup requires you download a Sony 360 Spatial Sound Personalizer app where you will take photos of your ears to better map your ear shape to the headphone settings. It is a bit weird on your phone as you must turn your head, but it does the job.
Music:
I went straight into listening to some music in the Master setting of Tidal. Sunroof by Nicky Youre, Dazy sounds bright with crisp bass, nice details, clear vocals and pronounced highs. Next, listening to Patient No. 9 by Ozzy Ozbourne feat. Jeff Beck, I was quite happy with the quality. The recording itself is a bit muddy but that is no fault of the headphones. The bass is very deep on this song being somewhat overwhelming, but the guitars come through clearly as do the drums. The highs from the electric guitars seem to be nicely reproduced. The separation between channels is also noticeably clear on this song. I spend a good amount of time listening to music and was happy with the results.
But... when I dug into sound settings. I realized that audio using the RF USB adaptor is limited to 16 bit, 48000hz audio only. I was surprised that streaming quality was limited and plugged it in directly via USB. The settings were exactly the same. I have been able to get up to 24bit 96000hz with other headphones including other Sony branded ones, so I was surprised this was the case.
I also hooked up via Bluetooth and it was the lowest quality to my ears with lots of details missing due to the limited stream rate of SBC.
For music, the best setting I found in the INZONE app was FLAT, Spatial Audio – OFF, and Dynamic range control – OFF. Any other setting just sounded wrong to me.
Gaming:
I played a decent amount of Overwatch using these headphones. I had no complaints from the other players as to the quality of my mic quality. I did turn on spatial audio for this along with the Dolby Atmos setting in the game. The two technologies are different, but you could indeed hear a decent amount of surround effects in the game, and it did help to determine where the noises were coming from. The headphones have buttons that correspond to “game” and “chat” so you can quickly switch between those modes. I did not really notice any difference when I did but I assume it changes the EQ for each.
Comfort of these headphones is ideal for long gaming sessions. The headphones have great weight distribution, so you forget you are wearing them. They stay cool with the earcups feeling like they are a microfiber material filled with memory foam.
The only reason I took off a star is because the PC software feels half baked and there is only 16-bit audio support.

I'm a SONY fan. Have been for many many years now. Love their products. I was excited to check out the INZONE H7 wireless gaming headset with my PS5. I don't plan on using them with a PC, so I'm focusing on the PS5.
DESIGN/FUNCTIONALITY -
The design of them is really nice, they are white and black, which complements the design of the PS5 perfectly. They have an adjustable headband with a soft cushion that goes over your head, and a simple but robust mic boom on the left cup.
On each cup are some controls, and this is what I love. The integration with the PS5 is superb, you plug in the USB dongle (I chose to use the front USB port) and they paired as soon as they turned on. On the left cup you have the microphone boom, the USBc charging port and a volume scroll wheel. It has some nice tactile feedback to it and works seamlessly with the PS5. On the right hand cup, you have the power on/off button (press and hold for a couple of seconds to turn on, same to turn off). There's a bluetooth pairing button, and then another great addition, the adjustment buttons to change the chat/in game sound balance. That is fantastic. When you turn them on, they automatically mute the audio to the controller which is superb (as I regularly forget to mute that) and also, when you turn off the headset, the audio returns and passes through, without the dongle interfering. On other branded headsets I have, you have to unplug the dongle each time. The SONY headset really works well on this front too.
THE SOUND
The 360º Spatial Sound is good, it works well in conjunction with the PS5 - playing Call of Duty, you can hear people moving around, you can tell if they are upstairs, behind you walking towards you for example - that level of audio detail is there, but it's not quite as pronounces as say Dolby Atmos enabled headphones for example. The audio is all there, not quite as punchy as other headphones I've used tho. I play with a group of 5, we have the party chat on the whole time, and sound was as clear for them with the mic as it was for me. Being able to balance out the chat/in-game sounds on the fly was awesome. And adjust the volume too on the left cup was nice and simple.
COMFORT
This is where I had a challenge with these headphones, and the reason for the dropped star in the rating. They are very comfortable, an in our gaming sessions, I never ended up with sweaty ears, or discomfort of any kind. However, the material that the foam cups are covered with is incredibly silky, and that makes them very slippery. I found that if I was to move my head quickly, they would slide to the back of my head and ultimately off my head. At first I figured it was a fluke, I tried extending the headband, I tried cinching it down as tight as it would go, all sorts of different tricks, but alas to no avail, they keep sliding backwards and off of my head. I have to rotate the headband more forward to the front of my head to help mitigate them sliding backwards. That has been challenging, and hence removing a star. I really wanted to LOVE these headphones, they are really nicely featured, they integrate so incredibly well with the PS5, but with them sliding around a lot, I just don't love them.
Maybe other people won't have this issue, maybe the tension in the headband is off on this set of headphones, so I can recommend them on functionality, style and indeed comfort, but with them sliding off all the time, I doubt they will be my goto headset.

Sony has entered into the headset market with a surprisingly fantastic headset right out of the gate. This has to be one of the most comfortable headsets that you will ever put on your head. And they remain that way even after hours of use. They also are good at not causing you to get hot, they seem very breathable in that respect and I never got sweaty due to the headset, something I've had a real issue with when it comes to other headset offerings.
When you first receive your Sony headset it comes in a rather large, very snazzy looking box. There's not much to be seen in this box, mostly just your headset, and a few other items related to instructional. The headset is setup by scanning a bar code that takes you to a page. But we will get to that later. The actual unboxing of this product made me pretty hopeful that the headset would live up to the aesthetics of the initial impression.
Putting the Inzone H7 on for the first time is an experience. Despite the fact that I'm 52 and have owned probably hundreds, or close, of various very high end headsets, I was very impressed when I put them on for the first time. In fact, it was just a week or so ago but I distinctly remember that I should write something in the review about that initial try on. It's just that comfortable.
You press the circular button to turn on and you have to hold it about 2 seconds, then you'll hear it fire up. The mic is rather large but you can swing it up to both get it out of the way and to also mute it. I did go ahead and install the Sony App that takes pictures of your ears (this is optional) and then it made a soundscape for me. It sounded impressive once complete but to be honest I don't know how much of it changed from the initial soundscape as that sounded good as well.
Clarity wise I had some friends who I was gaming with give me some feedback. My last headset, the Razer, I said the clarity of the microphone must be pretty good since no one complained but some folks online told me that doesn't necessarily ring true, some folks may mute you if your mic is bad. So with that in mind I went online and gamed with some random folks and then once I was comfortable with them I began asking and there were no complaints, in fact some said I was very clear, so I think that bodes pretty well for the microphone aspect for the online gamers.
As for the quality of the music, it's very good. The directional sounds and how Sony does it with their tech is pretty amazing. This can be demonstrated either on a PC (go to Youtube and look up directional sound, Sony, things of that nature to hear the massive difference from stereo to directional sound) or you can simply try these on your PS5, if you are fortunate enough to own one of those consoles.
I concluded my PC test and really was sort of reluctant to take these to the game room as they may such an excellent PC headset. But take it to my game room I did and got it hooked up to my PS5 in no time. I ran the 3D demo and holy cow, they need to demo these in malls or Best Buys because just hearing it and how much better it is than even Atmos is pretty incredible. Just reading about it is not going to change your opinion though, you need to experience it.
As for durability, these things do use some plastic but it's a very hard plastic. Only time will tell if there are any weak spots in the hinges or something to that effect so we cannot know this. However, judging from the headset quality I think it is unlikely these will eventually break. I will say I take excellent care of all of my products, use them mostly exclusively, do not smoke and I rarely have products fail on me.
All in all this is an amazing headset and I think Sony has a huge hit on it's hands. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

--- SETUP ---
The Sony INZONE H7 headphones are easy to set up. Decide if you want to use them for PS5 or PC, slide the switch on the receiver to the corresponding platform of choice, and plug the receiver into an open USB-A port. From there, charge your headphones and you are good to begin using your headset.
--- FEATURES ---
40 hours of use, works with PS5 and PC, USB-C charging, flip to mute mic., 360 spatial hearing with PC software.
--- PERFORMANCE AND EXPECTATIONS ---
This headset is a great replacement for my former headset and sounds incredible. I tested this headset with both 360 spatial and nonspatial auditory approved games while gaming on PC. In games like Doom Eternal, Resident Evil 2, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, the audio immersion with 360 spatial audio is amazing. You can hear how far a sound is coming from and enjoy more nuanced sounds from various angles.
In order for 360 spatial audio to work, you have to take a picture of your ear using the Sony Headphones app. I already had a spatial audio profile from another Sony product, so all I had to do after downloading the INZONE H7 software to the computer was log in. My previously created audio profile was stored online and transferred to the PC experience.
I also share headphones with my wife. I have several pairs of headphones and she just grabs whatever is nearest. After several matches of Fallguys on PC, she asked why the headphones sounded better. It was only then she realized that she was holding a new pair of headphones and she could tell that the audio was improved over our previous pair.
Using the software, you can customize several settings as well as choose from two profiles, one for boosting bass and one for music/movies. The app was overall user friendly and I greatly appreciated having the ability to save several profiles for different needs. I wish there was a gaming profile, but that could easily be added with a future update. The software itself allows you to do a mic check and have the best mic levels setup according to a mic test.
--- APPROVAL ---
Overall, this is a great-sounding headset that any gamer would appreciate. I highly recommend this headset for PC gamers or PS5 gamers wanting to experience spatial 360 audio in their games.

The audio quality is pretty standard. It lacks bass response for sure. Additionally, after 30 days of normal use the headband cover is now separating and exposing the foam cushion underneath. I called both BestBuy and Sony to obtain an exchange for this obvious Manufacturers defect but was denied by both. I would hold off on buying this headset until their quality control and manufacturing processes can be improved. Additionally, I will no longer support new products from Sony as they do not support their products when they have defects.

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Inzone H9 Cancellation Gaming Headphones, and I must say, they deliver a remarkable audio experience that enhances gaming immersion. These headphones are designed with gamers in mind, providing both comfort and impressive sound quality.
Let's start with the active noise cancellation feature, which is a standout attribute of the Inzone H9. Once you put on these headphones, you'll notice that external distractions fade away, allowing you to focus solely on your game. The noise cancellation effectively blocks out ambient sounds, creating a more immersive gaming environment. Whether you're in the heat of battle or exploring a virtual world, the H9 helps you stay fully engaged in the experience.
In terms of sound quality, the Inzone H9 doesn't disappoint. The headphones feature powerful drivers that deliver rich, clear, and detailed audio. The bass response is punchy without overpowering other frequencies, while the mid and high ranges are well-balanced, allowing for accurate sound reproduction. Explosions, gunshots, and dialogue are all crisp and distinct, heightening the realism of your gaming sessions.
Comfort is crucial during extended gaming sessions, and the Inzone H9 provides a comfortable fit. The over-ear design with soft, plush ear cups ensures a snug yet gentle fit around your ears. The adjustable headband allows for a customizable fit, and the headphones are lightweight, reducing any strain during long gaming marathons. However, some users with larger heads or ears may find the fit slightly tight.
The Inzone H9 also offers convenient features for gamers. The detachable microphone allows for clear communication with teammates during multiplayer games. The microphone quality is decent, though not exceptional, and it's flexible enough to position it optimally for your needs. Additionally, the headphones feature on-ear controls for volume adjustment and microphone muting, providing easy access to essential functions without interrupting your gameplay.
One area where the Inzone H9 could be improved is the build quality. While the headphones are generally sturdy, some users have reported issues with durability over time. It's important to handle them with care and avoid excessive twisting or bending. However, given the price point, the overall build quality is reasonable.
In terms of compatibility, the Inzone H9 is versatile and works well with various gaming platforms, including PCs, consoles, and mobile devices. They connect via a standard 3.5mm audio jack, ensuring broad compatibility across devices.
In conclusion, the Inzone H9 Cancellation Gaming Headphones offer a solid audio experience and active noise cancellation that can elevate your gaming sessions. With their comfortable fit, impressive sound quality, and convenient features, they provide an immersive and enjoyable gaming experience. While there are some minor drawbacks in terms of build quality and microphone performance, these headphones offer excellent value for their price. If you're a gamer looking for an affordable option to enhance your audio immersion, the Inzone H9 is definitely worth considering

Pretty good sound, but 4 stars - at best. My $100 Xbox headset is comparable, if not a bit better, yet Sony wants over $200. They're very comfortable for people with big/odd ears, like mine, but they're massive. They making me feel like the people waving down airplanes, yet I'm not blown away by the level or quality of sound. The software, with the equalizer settings - which only works on PC, barely does anything. I adjusted the equalizer, after installation, and it sounded almost identical in any arrangement. I only paid $130 and am still debating returning them. The best part is the 40-hr battery life, but I don't game for more than 5 hours per session

Sony’s H7 gaming headset provides incredible 3D sound tracking in a package that can be the listening centerpiece of your personal gaming experience. With a USB dongle to dedicate to a PC and Bluetooth connectivity to use for PS5, you won’t be fumbling around multiple headsets to suit your needs. You can even connect to two devices at once using both wireless connections to listen to both sources simultaneously. Not only that, it’s a perfect match to the PS5 aesthetic.
With as large as this headset looks, it feels really well balanced and comfortable. It’s just snug enough to stay in place without slipping or feeling heavy on either side of my head or around my ears. Their presence on your head would be easy to forget if it wasn’t for the white color contrast some may see out of the corner of their eye. The controls are also well placed, appropriately sized, and easy to navigate. And the sound is great. Nothing comes off as overexaggerated. It's just clean sound that will likely blossom with some driver use.
The bonus for PC users out there is the InZone PC hub. With the proprietary app you can adjust the EQ, set profiles, update hardware, etc. And as mentioned before, you can listen to multiple sources and you can mix the levels of your inputs/outputs as you desire.

Sony's first deep dive into the hyper-competitive/hyper-crowded gaming headset market is a home-run in many respects. However, the premium price for the Sony name makes it a little hard to unequivocally recommend over very similar performers that clock in at more wallet-friendly prices, especially given that there really isn't a lot new going on here. That said, if you like the styling, especially to complement your PS5, and you respect or are a fan of Sony's products, I feel comfortable in saying you will probably be VERY happy with the INZONE H7. If you are jealously guarding your pennies and wonder if these are worth the scratch over other similarly featured wireless headsets, that answer is a little more subjective.
Despite its largish size, the H7 is surprisingly light. Generous letherette-covered padding on the headband, along with a wider curvature of the headband itself, helps spread the headset's weight through a pretty large arc across the top of the head (at least for me, this helps reduce hotspot fatigue during long sessions). The earpads feature similarly pillow-soft foam padding though the fabric covering that touches the skin is nylon rather than the pricier H9's "soft-fit leather." The result is a slightly less premium feeling, but I am not sure it's any less comfortable, and it certainly does not seem to keep the heat trapped in the way leatherette can. The earcups themselves are stadium-shaped but the pad openings aren't quite as big as the large earcups would suggest; on my adult cranium, the pads overlap the bottoms of my earlobes, though the rest of my ears fit inside the pads quite comfortably.
The earcups rotate through more than 90 degrees and fold perfectly flat for easier storage/stowage. The rotating action of the earcup hangers is fairly loose so the earcups will kind of flop and wobble when you take the headset off. In fact, the overall plastic construction feels somewhat light--not necessarily cheap-feeling, but it has an overall sort of "looseness" that says to me "this isn't quite a premium product." It also suggests you might need to take a little extra care with these headphones to get your money's worth for the long haul as I don't know how much punishment they can withstand. Sadly, there is no included storage case or even a drawstring sack to help protect them when not in use. The earcups themselves adjust at the ends of thick retractable rods (as opposed to most headsets' flat headband extensions) and provide a good 1.5" of travel; those sizing rods also offer a reassuring click-stop mechanism to hold the headband size adjustments in place through donning/doffing. Given their light weight and somewhat loose feeling overall, inward clamping pressure was still surprisingly sturdy enough to keep them on my head, though they did start to move around if I twisted and turned my head more vigorously (though this is probably a bit of an unrealistic use case outside of dance or rock band simulators). For my adult male head with a 7 5/8" hat size, I found the H7s to be VERY comfortable.
The lift-to-mute microphone feels solid and durable; the rotating mechanism itself works smoothly and effortlessly, yet it will keep the boom in place even if only partially deployed or flipped up. The memory wire inside the boom held its shape even after hours of use--this is a nice change of pace from some of boom mics I've seen on other headsets that slowly drip back out of place. Mic performance was also very good with excellent vocal quality that offered only the *slightest* hint of tinny overtones. In real-world use, it worked exceptionally well at isolating my voice from background noise; on telephone calls, listeners reported that they could not hear the nearby PC or its many fans, the droning of the air conditioner's blower overhead, or my dog incessantly licking its fur on the seat next to me.
Sony usually does pretty well in the usability department and this headset offers a nice array of physical controls that are fairly easy and intuitive to use by feel alone. The left earcup only features a textured rotating volume dial (and the USB-C charging port), while the right earcup places the round power button far enough towards the front that you would be hard-pressed to ever accidentally press it. The Bluetooth pairing/switching button is oblong in shape and is placed directly at the bottom of the left earcup, while the volume/chat mixer is a 2-ended rocker-type switch placed higher up. When in BT mode, the BT button also acts as a play/pause or call answer/hang-up button--nice if your H7 is serving double duty on your PC/PS5 and your phone. The different shapes and wide spacing between the controls make it very unlikely you would ever mistake one control for another by feel alone. The USB dongle is a bit on the long side, clocking in around the size of a bulky USB thumb drive; it has a single switch on the side that lets you toggle between PS5 and PC functionality. When wirelessly connected to the H7s, the entire end of the dongle lights up (and stays lit) with a confirmatory white rectangle that is easily visible from across the room--this ensures you always have a nice visual indicator of whether your headset is connected or not.
Sadly, Sony didn't pack quite as many nice-to-haves into its audio status indicators; power on, connection status, BT pairing, etc., are all communicated through a series of not-entirely-intuitive tones of varying pitch and patterns rather than offering clearly spoken prompts and status updates. There is also a bit of play with the lift-to-mute action so that you can partially raise and lower the boom for ideal placement of the pickup without muting the mic entirely. However, a confirmation tone when the mic is muted or live again would definitely have been appreciated--fully deploying or folding up the microphone offers no audible mic status indicator at all.
Out of the box tuning was surprisingly VERY good. Bass is taut and palpable with just the right bit of chest-thumping oomph to get the blood moving, but it was not boomy or overbearing at all. Mids sounded forward and full-bodied, not hollowed out for the sake of emphasizing an exaggerated V-shaped EQ; and highs were fast and sparkly without being harsh or fatiguing. Whether streaming music, watching movies, or running a pretty frenetic shooter onscreen, the H7s sounded authoritative and quite FUN, and I never felt like I was really missing anything in the soundtrack. Note however that although BT resolution was a bit higher, the USB dongle maxes out at 16bit/48Khz resolution; this is DVD quality audio which is still very good, but you won't quite be getting full resolution on the PC if you stream AmazonMusic HD or other high-rez music services. However, it was pretty cool to mix audio from a live phone call with a game running in the background--being able to use the chat/game volume mixer to also mix USB audio with BT audio at the same time is kind of a neat feature to have, especially for those times when a game's voice chat feature breaks down, but you still want to do some online gaming with your friends over the phone.
With the INZONE app (PC only), Sony tried to up the ante with a few more features, some of which hit the mark--others, not quite so much. Using the INZONE Hub, you can set the headset's master volume, adjust game/chat mix, adjust mic sidetone, and turn on the mic auto-gain control to normalize the volume of your voice for those listening at the distant end. You can also tweak the headset's sound with personal sound profiles using the provided 10-band EQ with 12dB of boost and cut per band (or use the built-in Flat, Bass Boost, or Music/Video EQ settings). Dynamic range control is also available--like when you want to watch a movie late at night without disturbing others, this can help even out the maximum volume differences between the very loudest and very softest passages of an audio signal to make elements of the soundtrack easier to hear.
The INZONE H7 also offers its own take on simulated surround sound. Using another app (360 Spatial Sound Personalization) you download to your phone, you use it and your phone's camera to capture photos of your ears. The photos are sent to Sony's severs where supposedly a custom audio profile that matches your unique anatomy is produced and then returned to the INZONE app to be used for Spatial Sound processing. Honestly, the effect was...okay. Yes, you can absolutely hear a greater sense of space and depth when INZONE's Spatial Sound is activated, and it does provide some measure of discrete sound-source localization for some noticeable panning and audio movement effects. BUT, I found Sony's Spatial soundfield was just a bit--subtle and kind of narrow all around; and I tried re-running the personalization process several times just to make sure I wasn't getting oddball results from a bad ear picture or something. For complex/busy game audio, I found Spatial Sound was a bit less enveloping, a little less expansive, and a little less smooth/continuous than Dolby Atmos, and I found pinpoint accuracy also lagged behind Atmos and maybe even slightly behind DTS Headphone:X's discrete imaging as well. Don't get me wrong, if you haven't paid for Atmos or DTS separately, Sony's Spatial Sound feature is a nice way to sweeten the deal for the H7s, but I wouldn't personally let my purchasing decision hinge on that feature alone as the results were sadly underwhelming.
So, is the H7 a good buy? It's wireless, stylish, comfortable, has great sound, really good mic performance, and offers some useful in-app customization. However, a lot of competitors can say the same thing, and the extra price the H7 commands doesn't deliver the kind of premium-feeling construction you might expect, or offer anything really new and unique in the sound or functionality departments. I still recommend the H7s, but it's not really a *great* value at its current price.

Fantastic headphones for PS5. ok for PC, let me begin that I know these headphones are labeled as PC first then PlayStation but they very much work best on PlayStation and let me start there.
On PS5 So y does not allow any headsets to control chat and volume mix so your only option is Sony’s other headset which I find extremely uncomfortable and not great sounding. These on the hand sound great they have a very wide soundstage and allow you to pinpoint sounds with ease you can also adjust you game and chat balance and while the mic does leave the some room for improvement I had no problem communicating with my friends.
Listening to music on the headphones sounded pretty good I wouldn’t take these out in public to listen to music but to use at home they sound great.
On PC it’s a little bit different as they is way more competition and features for gaming headsets.
I still find these to be more comfortable than most of the other headsets their software is not quite as robust as some of the competitors but it’s also a bit expected as this is Sonys first pc headset. I see a bright future ahead for Sony headsets and if you have a PS5 these are absolutely great.
Extremely comfortable and great sounding

I will be returning these. Do not believe the Paid Youtuber Hype
Fit - These are the largest headset I have ever tried. They look more like earmuffs you see the guys at race tracks wear. As a result they fit very loose on my head. The weight is fine and the earcups pads are awesome they feel amazing. the feel of the headphones overall is very cheap and flimsy, I thought they would be a little more like the Sony XM5 but they feel more like a $80 pair of Turtle Beach headphones.
Sound - Above average but are not able to compete with The logitech G Pros or any of the Steelseries headphones from the $150 and up price range. The Steelseries Wireless Pro destroy these in every possible measure for sound quality, and considering the H7 and the H9 have the same sound means going up to the H9 for $300 is a horrible decision for the extra money go for the Wireless Pros or the new Nova. The surround sound gives you good sound stage and direction but lack any character, very boring sounding headset.
Battery - The battery is the only thing I like about these so far.
Connection - This is where my biggest problem is with these headphones. My unit for some reason has horrible interference, it will continuously distort and warp the sound. It never stops doing it, I have tried sitting close to my PS5 or PC and even tried turning off the 3D sound nothing works and I even tried it on PC and was slightly better but still unusable. The Bluetooth is also subpar, there is a noticeable delay when watching Netflix, I have never had that issue with my Steelseries Wireless Pros.
Overall - There were supposed to be the chosen ones but they fall incredibly short. I was excited for a sony headset with all the specs and features I want in a headset but these genuinely feel and sound like $120 headphones. I highly recommend someone looking at these opt for any Steelseries headphones.

Solid headphones - very light - VERY comfortable and this is from a guy with a big Charlie Brown style noggin. Work seamlessly between my PC and PS5. They're kinda big - and I'm not a huge fan of how the mic works, but the comfort is what sold it for me. Sound is pretty good. I'm no audiophile, but I had zero complaints.

Super comfortable. The sound quality is great. Super easy to setup and use. Software for it isn't the just in depth but it's good enough. Battery life is superb. No complaints besides the software. Not mad I didn't pay extra for the noise cancelling. Got these at a discount of 100 bucks and am so glad I did.
