Have been using for 15 months and the left bud has recently started only lasting 20-30 after being charged all day and showing 90+%. At this price point I really expected atleast 2 years of use, guess I will be shoping a different brand.

This is definitely not the news we'd like to hear from you. It is difficult for Sony or any other manufacturer to quote the life expectancy for a product. Certain variables, such as the amount of use (or lack thereof) a product receives and the environmental conditions in which a product is being used, play a part in the life expectancy of a product.

Not really worth the money

I find that the sound quality diminishes depending on how the ear bud shifts in your ear when you move. And the sound does not get strong enough to wear to noisy places like the gym. After a few months of owning these the sound has also become choppy/grainy, which is a bit of a pain to listen to. I have appreciated the battery life on these. But altogether, I don’t think it’s worn the near $200 price point.

While we're glad you like the open-ear design, we regret to hear if the LinkBuds did not fit your ears well and it hasn't performed to your standards. Allow us to help you and turn your experience around. If the headset is not worn properly in your ears, you may not obtain the correct sound qualities or call performance. If the part of the headset where sound is output is not oriented correctly toward the ear canal, the sound quality may sound poor or the left and right sound localization may sound misaligned. The LinkBuds may also fall out or feel uncomfortable during use if you don't wear the LinkBuds properly or the ear fitting supporters are not correct for your ears.
• Check that you are wearing the headset properly in your ears.
• Select a different size fitting supporter and align the protruding part of the LinkBud with the cutout on the fitting supporter. Make sure to insert the fitting supporter completely.
• After attaching the fitting supporter, check that there is no movement on the LinkBuds. (Shake your head back and forth.)
Note: If they fall off or move in your ears when you shake your head, select a different size. The best fitting supporter may be different for each ear.

Augmented reality for your ears

They sound good but not great, the battery life is nothing impressive and the hinge clasp kinda sucks. So why do I give them a 5 on value? They are unique and can easily change your life. I can watch a YouTube video, podcast, listen to music, catch up on the news while holding a normally conversation. I used these to enjoy some tunes while eating dinner with my mother in law and for me there was no awkward silence or listening to people chew and I didn't have to compromise on what I listened to. These headphones are the only product I have ever seen that truly let you augment your reality without being cumbersome or gimmicky. These are headphones you'll never need to take out of your ears unless you need to charge them.

Took them back after 1 weekend

I was looking for a replacement for my 2 year old samsung buds due to them no longer holding a charge and liked the design of these. I mostly listen to audio books and these habve a very bad sound quality for spoken word, i tried playing around with the equalizer and was never able to find anything the did not sound off. I could live with the sound quality if it were not for another huge issue. If my phone is in my left pocket the right bud cuts out constantly, i have never had that issue with apple airpods or samsung buds. I dont know if i got a bad one or if its an issue with the way they are made.

Given the price point of $180, I do feel there are better options. Pros: Everything around you sounds natural. You don't need to pause or remove them. This is perfect for times you need to be in tune with your surroundings. Also, the spatial audio and other features such as pausing when talking, are really cool. They are very lightweight and the case is tiny. Really comfortable to carry around. My Cons: Not comfortable for me after about an hour; Too expensive; Connectivity issues in the right ear; sound quality isn't too clear nor loud.

Pro: Audio awareness of outside sounds allow for multitasking Wide area tap allows for control even when wearing gloves Lightweight Con: Up to or less than 5 hour battery life (depending on how many settings are on) Slip off occasionally even with a proper fit (occurs when bending down to pick up something) Putting the earbuds on can be a bit awkward at first and gets some adjusting to

Nifty headphones

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tried these on a whim and wasn't quite sure if I was going to keep them or not, but after several hours of use I realized how nice an in ear open back headphone really is for using in enviroments where you still need to be aware of your surroundings. Now I use them all the time at work, or whenever I just need something going through my ears while I'm doing other tasks. They have just enough battery life, a bit on the shorter side but it's to be expected with the design. They are quite low profile which I like. The touch features are also quite cool as well, tapping just infront of your ear will allow you to control your playback. If you find yourself using ambient sound mode on your headphones frequently, these could be a direct replacement to that.

Good while they lasted

Something has happened and both headphones vibrate like something is loose or blown. I treat my electronics very carefully and I am not a loud music type of person and have mainly used these for a headset for phone calls and teams meetings. Disappointed, no easy way for any warranty repair that I have found. Looks like I need to find a replacement, would consider replacing with the same, but the price would have be be much lower. They are over priced from my experience.

Great for personal listening at home

I use this at home nearly all the time now. It's great to be able to sit in the same space as someone else and not bother them with my noise (especially when paired with my Switch). Unlike ambient noise options on other headphones, this doesn't feel like processed outside noise coming in -- everything sounds very natural. Obviously for intense music listening or sound isolation, these aren't going to be great headphones, but if you just want to listen to some tunes while still hearing the world around you, they're spectacular!
