Good sound, poor battery

Unfortunately, that's only for when it works. A little more than a year in and the right earbud refuses to hold a charge for more than 5 minutes. They are a unique concept for sure. The fit is strange - but once you get the small rubber piece right, they stay in place. The fact that they allow sound to flow through is really nice. Personally I find that I have to wear both ear buds & not one at a time as much as I'd prefer, but that could be related to the various mobile android devices we have. I would definitely recommend them and am not disappointed - just glad I waited for the sale price instead of pouncing on them at first release.

Great if it's what you need

HOWEVER, if what you need is some background music you can wear nearly ANYWHERE(including inside, looking at you Bose Frames) these are GREAT for that! They don't stick out so people don't seem to notice it(granted people wear earbuds everywhere anyways) and you can hear everything nearby clearly. Biggest gripe is Sony's app, it tries to add too many features but they can be turned off.

If the headset is not worn properly in your ears, tap operations or Speak-to-Chat speech detection may not work correctly, or you may not obtain the correct sound qualities or call performance. Having the ability to hear natural ambient noise around you makes them great for use in the office and in public in case you want to be aware of happenings around you. Microphone quality is a big improvement over previous Sony earbuds as well. The fit of the earbuds may take some getting use to but once you find the right size ear piece they will be more comfortable than any in-ear buds in my experience.

Instead of using a digital external sound amplifier, this actually make you hear the external sound through a hole in the unit. It has excellent fit to the ear, good sound quality, clear communication from both side of the user on call. The negative side that I have found and decide to return the unit was: First - It activates the music just by clicking my jaws accidentally. Also hangs up the phone with sudden jaw movements. Second - It does not have noice canceling options. Overall is a good device but is too sensitive to operate.

I used these earbuds when walking outdoors, in the office when colleagues are around, at home when talking to families. This could have been a solution for dealing with wind noise - let the wind sound naturally instead of being distorted by incomplete noise cancellation. I give these earbuds 2 stars because they only lasted a little longer than warranty. Battery dead after an update and won't charge. Numerous complaints about this issue have been raised, even flagship Sony earbuds won't last. These are my first pair of Sony earbuds. It feels like a representative of Sony quality.

The more I use them the easier it is to wear them, they sound great depending on how you put them on but people should go online and watch some review because these are not for everyone. Not having to touch the bud themselves for control is awesome but they dont give you much control of the touch features other than the preset (LET ME CHOOSE FULLY WHAT TOUCH CONTROLS DO) I would love to be able to play pause, skip tracks and easily control volume without having to pull my phone app.

My workflow doesn't allow for a 10 to 15-minute re-energize break every to 3 hours (plus more chances for me to lose them). These may not be right for me. I'll turn off all the advance settings tomorrow and see if they last longer, but spending $150+ on headphones that require all the neat stuff turned off to last 5 or 6 hours makes cheap/disposable BT or wired phones look like a better option. However, for hikers/bikers/walkers or office workers, I can see these making a whole bunch of sense.

Comfortable even with my tragus ear piercings i love how i can keep them in and still hear whats going in around me. The battery life isnt long enough. You get 3 charges out of the case before you need to recharge the case, but the ear buds only last about 1.5hrs of listening time before needing a new charge. But these are the only ear buds that are comfortable with my piercings and don’t fall out.

The sound quality is pretty good, and they are comfortable once you figure out how to wear them. I didn't keep them because they do let sound escape your ear holes when the volume is up, but I could see people loving these.

They sounded great, and worked like they were supposed to, but no matter what I tried I could not keep them in my ear. My right bud just kept coming out no matter what size wing I used. I watched several videos on how to fit them and nothing helped. So if you are the kind of person who needs a rubber or foam ear tip these may not be for you!

I normally use bone conduction while working so as to not have my ears blocked, but decided to give these a try. While the sound of any open ear device is never going to match that of earbuds or headphones that block the ears, the sound of these is actually pretty good while still allowing me to hear what's around me.

Good, but conflicted with GPS

Some reviewers stated they had problems keeping this in their ear, but I didn't have that problem. They seemed to stay in place pretty well. The only reason I returned these is because of issues with the music on my Garmin watch. It played music fine until I connected to GPS. Then the audio was very choppy and cut out constantly. Without GPS, it worked fine. Other bluetooth devices did not have this problem, so I believe it's a compatibility issue.

The open concept works well when you don’t exactly want to block out *all* of the background noise around you. I do however wish there was a bit more deep bass. I’m not sure if it’s just my earbuds or if it’s something I have to tweak in the app, but when I raise the volume to the highest level it sounds lower?? but other than that I’m really enjoying these so far

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The only reason I’m doing a four star and not a five is because I returned them due to having smaller than normal ears lol I love the concept I just have oddly shaped ears so they made my ears sore. Otherwise I liked them for what I need them for. They aren’t good for music but for phone calls and videos they are nice. Battery life isn’t long and you can’t track these if lost

It lets you hear audio while being able to hear your surroundings. Well that's what they were aiming for. There were times where I had to lower the volume to hear my sister who was right next to me while we were walking. In reality they're not bad but they're not good either. Also, I noticed mine would keep popping out, no matter how I put them in my ear.

If the headset is not worn properly in your ears, you may not obtain the correct sound qualities or call performance. The LinkBuds may also fall out or feel uncomfortable during use if you don't wear the LinkBuds properly or the ear fitting supporters are not correct for your ears.
• Check that you are wearing the headset properly in your ears.
• Select a different size fitting supporter and align the protruding part of the LinkBud with the cutout on the fitting supporter. Make sure to insert the fitting supporter completely.
• After attaching the fitting supporter, check that there is no movement on the LinkBuds. (Shake your head back and forth.)
Note: If they fall off or move in your ears when you shake your head, select a different size. The best fitting supporter may be different for each ear.
