They're outstanding at reducing ambient noise, especially for the price paid. The coating over the foam ear cups peeled off my first set after about 2 years of near daily use, but the headphones themselves are still functioning. Definitely a must have when traveling.

They did cut down a lot of the engine noise. There was still a little but once you took them off you heard just how much they do block. They do fell a little weak but if your careful with your things you shouldn't have a problem. They are not as nice as the Bose but they are 1/6 of the price. ($50 vs $300)

If you forget to turn it off overnight the next day you will need a new battery. They are not 100% noise canceling but decent enough to tune people out in the office. After so long the cushion around the ears is starting to break apart.
