Ps5 - fun, new console
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only a few minor glitches so far in my experience, most of them related to the USB drive I ported over with my PS4 games, and the others with CoD: Black Ops Old War. Graphics are great, load times so much shorter, and the new controllers are comfortable and a neat experience with the new tactile feedback in the triggers. The new UI takes some getting used to, but has some nice features. Loving mine so far!!

It's snappy and snazzy!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its incredibly quiet compared to the ps4. I've played about 2-3 hours of demons souls and am amazed I haven't heard the fan. This is great if your walls are paper thin as you can keep the volume down and still hear the game with no issues. The console itself is huge and will most like take up a big chunk out of any entertainment center. The ui is kinda meh in my opinion but am sure I'll get over it. I had one hard crash and had to unplug it completely but other than that no issues. Overall am happy with it and I have to say demons souls looks amazing.

Genuine feedback
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The load times to get in and out of games is every bit as advertised. The graphics and gameplay of the system are phenomenal for a console. The controller is comfortable and feels familiar and similar to legacy PlayStation controllers. The physical size of the system is larger than I expected it to be but that is not a bad thing as far as I am concerned. I am still getting used to plugging my controller in for updates. I have had some difficulty familiarizing myself with the Home Screen navigation but that may be user error. Overall it is a great system and worth the wait (in my opinion).

Big Console Big Performance
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS5 is large and in charge! I'm glad my TV stand can accommodate it's 15.4" height because I'm not a huge fan of how it looks sideways. The PS5 is truly next-gen, and I've enjoyed playing the latest games like Spiderman and Ratchet and Clank after finally getting one. The new SSD destroys loading times and makes everything feel faster along with better performance in graphics as well. I'm eagerly awaiting the launch of Gran Turismo 7 next year though which has always been my biggest draw to the Playstation over the years.

Awesome 4k gaming
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Next Gen gaming at its best. I’ve played the Spider-Man games and final fantasy on them on a 4k tv. Also supports 120hz on specific setups.

scalpers are horrible. It is amazing though
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.gonna start off saying scalpers are literal scum of the earth and corporations need to do more to prevent them from artificially increasing product scarcity.. If you could get ahold of this, you know what you’re getting. UI feels next gen, new controller features are interesting but might just be a gimmick down the line.. Wasnt too crazy about the design at first, but it honestly looks breathtaking and is probably my fav looking console Anyways you probably already know you’re getting some serious hardware for the money. Gaming pc equivalent would probably be at least a grand or more.

First ps5 at Best Buy
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was able to get the very first ps5 at Best Buy on the release day over 1yr ago. I have had zero issues with it and I have put a ton of hours into gaming. The speed of the system is just insane which makes downloading games so quick 5-10 mins and it has downloaded a 100G game no problem. The graphics are absolutely phenomenal this system is a must have but make sure to pair it with a tv with hdmi 2.1 I recommend the Sony Bravia x900h it’s capable of running games at 120 fps and I absolutely love it’s stunning.

Solid machine!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I usually own the Xbox and PlayStation, but I was always biased towards the Xbox. The PlayStation 5 changed that for me! I really like it a lot and I enjoy the new dual sense controller and the adaptive triggers! I like the ray tracing support for games and I got to try it with Spider-Man which looked really awesome! The console is lightning fast during load times and navigating menus comparing to the PS4 Pro. What disappointed me was no support for Dolby Atmos, and it seems it won’t be available in a way that we know. Otherwise the device is solid and I’m really happy with it!

It's good, but far from perfect.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As someone who was frustrated with how outdated the PS4 was, the PS5 brings in a new sense of excitement. It fixes everything that was outdated with the PS4 (faster storage, better graphics, updated ports). It let's you play PS4 games with better quality than the PS4, but it still feels underpowered when compared to the competition. It does not have a 1TB storage, and the space it does have is shrunk down some by the system. I ran out of space after installing five games from my virtual library. While the PS4's hard drive could be upgraded, Sony has yet to offer an effective option to increase storage on the PS5 (that I know of) without the need for an external drive. My biggest beef with the console comes from its design, however. It's way too bulky for a console. It covered a part of my screen, and I tried to move my TV until I realized it wouldn't solve my problem and just tilted the PS5 on its side. It has the ability to be sideways or standing, but it is clear that it is meant to be standing upright. It simply looks way too funky sideways, and it feels like it would've even been better if they had just removed the excess plastic that serves no purpose. Overall, it's a good console, offers a great selection of exclusives, but it is lacking in power and design. It feels like it will quickly become outdated and a new, more powerful variant will be warranted.

Great at Retail Price, Not worth Scalper Price!
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its a great system with some serious caveats. First of all, I purchased both ps5 and Xbox Series X so I will be comparing both and reviewing the PS5 against the Series X. Sony got a lot of things right here, but there are some serious missteps that Im sure will be addressed in due time. The system design is cool, but its novelty wears off fast when you try to fit it in your entertainment center with other devices. Nothing else looks quite like it so it sticks out like a sore thumb. Its not horrible, but it could certainly use a redesign. I dont think it needs to be nearly as big and galmy as it actually is. Whereas the Xbox SX is sleek and symmetrical, the PS5 just looks odd in comparison. The console performance is phenomenal to say the least. Spider Man looks insane on the PS5, whereas it looked merely great on ps4 pro. Its actually quite a shocking difference, which bodes well for games in the future. If cross gen games look this good already, 2-3 years from now will be mind blowing! However, cross-generational games also pose somewhat of an issue on the ps5. On several occasions, the PS5 downloaded the ps4 version of a ps5 game I had downloaded. I then had to delete and reinstall, making sure to select the PS5 version to install. Why wouldnt it automatically recognize what system Im installing the game to, which is where Xbox Series X really shines. On the Xbox, you automatically get the best version for your system, no guess work. It may seem minor, but its fairly frustrating in practice. One huge issue is the HDD size. Ive only got a handful of games installed and am already out of space. With no upgrade options, Im stuck uninstalling and reinstalling games I want to play at any given time. Sure you can plug a regular old HDD in and use that, but its not NEARLY even close to a solution as you cannot actually play the ps5 games from a standard HDD and there is NO SSD option to expand the PS5 SSD memory. So yes you can save game file and transfer them back and forth as needed, but why there isnt an expansion similar to Xbox SX memory card solution is beyond me. The ps5 controller is pretty great as well, but the immersive haptic trigger feedback is almost a nuisance at times. This force feedback is considered revolutionary by some, but I find similar implementation on the Xbox that has been there since early days of Xbox One. Sure it may be more active and slightly different than Xbox, but its basically the same thing! How is it a revolution now if Xbox was doing it last gen? Xbox Trigger feedback is also less intense, making it more bearable for long play sessions. Try playing Black Ops for more than an hour with trigger feedback on and your hands will curse at you! Whe it comes to the games, thats where Sony always shines. However, I find myself playing and replaying ps4 games more than anything. There just arent that many ps5 exclusive games yet. Almost everything is also available on ps4 and I have already played most of them! Demons Souls, which many argue is a true ps5 exclusive, is simply a remake of the ps3 game! As glorious as the graphics are, I didnt care for Demons Souls then and prettier graphics DO NOT make it more fun. Its still a riduclously hard game and pretty graphics do not change that. Godfall is not good either, so there no exclusives that could be considered killea apps right now. Of course Ratchet and Clank is out soon so that will change, but if you have been having a hard time getting a PS5, just be patient as there really isnt anything that screams you need this right now!
