Best Game Console on the market
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best way to sum up the PS5 is it is the best of the best all around. After having owned many generations of game consoles, the PS5 has perfected the shortcomings of the previous generations. The user interface is snappy. The software works seamlessly. The hardware looks fantastic, and the controller is the most comfortable I have used so far. It is superior to my previous favorite which was the Xbox 360 controller. The most important aspect is the games, and the PS5 has a lot of options no matter what genre you like — and they all look fantastic with insane graphic fidelity. You can’t go wrong with this console - highly recommend

Happy with the PS5
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had this for a month, here are a few thoughts. Was very surprised how fast this is. I hooked it up, downloaded and installed all software updates, and started exploring in under 20 minutes. The new controller is very cool. Graphics are gorgeous. The drive makes a little noise, similar to a small fan, when loading a disk. But once loaded it, is super quiet. Been playing Assassin’s Creed from disk and Jedi:Fallen Order from download. There is no difference in load times. No lag in gameplay. Played a few 4K UHD Blu-rays, looks as good as my original player. Has most of the APPS I wanted, still a few missing. Overall, very happy with my purchase!

Best console
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a two years of use it’s a pretty good console, very fast, great graphics. The controller, dual sense, is one of the best things, the adaptive triggers are pretty good.

PS5
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What can I say. It's beautiful, the digital is just a tad more sleek in comparison to the standard. It's quiet, fast and and new OS is beautiful and easy to manage. Ordered on a Tuesday, was able to pick it up in store on Sunday. The controller is also a homerun, the adaptive triggers are definitely a cool technology. Excited to see how games incorporate it. I've owned it for around a month and although early I have no complaints so far. Hopefully they are able to meet up with the giant demand. Everyone that wants one of these, deserves one. Also, for peace of mind get a warranty its a fair price for the just in case. 10/10.

The new PS5 is pretty cool, but needs some more op
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was difficult to get one of these. I had to follow a popular Twitter user to learn when these things restocked. But through that method, I was able to secure and purchase this from Best Buy. So the one I have is probably the better of the versions out there. There's the Original Release Model and the ones that are coming out now. The ones coming out now have a different model number than the one I have, but that also means it has a smaller heatsink than the one I have. If you have the newer model, your system may be prone to getting hotter than mine during normal use. It was easy to set up, and easy to transfer my information between the PS4 to the PS5. Gameplay, and the new controller are top notch. Controllers come with a built in Microphone. There is a slight engineering fault with it because it also has a small speaker in it mostly for game immersion since some sounds are emitted through there on top of hearing your game. Because of the voice feature, when trying to chat with other players, their voice tries to come in through the tiny speaker, and you can't hear them. There is a small fix in the settings to keep player voices on your main audio setup (TV speakers, or external speakers) while still using the controller to speak to them. You could also just use headphones. You can even insert an old wired headphones kit from when phones had them. My Switch headphones worked fine. The PlayStation 5 only comes in the white color but controllers have several colors. With 3rd party skin kits, you can get them to match. However, if you buy the new all black controller, and the Dark Plates from a 3rd party skins seller, your PS5 can be all black to match the controller. The Dark Plates replace the OEM side plates simply by unclipping them from the system and installing the new ones. Until just a few days ago, you couldn't install the expansion memory cards (M.2 SSD) despite having the slot pre-built into each console. They just released the firmware to be able to install them. You are otherwise left with 667GB of storage to play games. With the new SSDs, you can expand your storage an additional 4Tb. Slowly but surely, Playstation is fixing the minor issues, so future buyers probably won't experience the same as I did. It's a fine console and everything seems to play well on it. Super fast loading speeds pretty much eliminate loading screens, and most games start up instantly.

Falls a bit shy of a generational leap
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Console is nice, albeit large and clunky looking. We’re talking stupid big — on its side (the only orientation that fits on the TV stand), it takes up more real estate than my AV receiver and stands out among the neatly packed black boxes, including my PS4. The system itself is zippy and games load remarkably fast. I’d say it’s a touch faster than games loaded on a PC NVMe drive, but I’m not a professional reviewer and refuse to buy a game twice to put that to the test. The real power is in the new controller, which the Astro’s Playroom demo highlights beautifully. Other games don’t really utilize the full controller feature set [yet], so time will tell if that alone is worth the upgrade. The same goes with the graphics. It looks nice on a large format 4K TV, but you have to really squint to see where settings have been enhanced on the launch titles. I’m sure we’ll see this improve as new games better utilize the hardware as has always been the case with previous generations. One exception is the addition of ray tracing. The reflections provided by this budding graphics tech add a new layer of realism, but this comes at a cost to frame rate — a trade off only the most casual gamers are going to be willing to accept. Overall, it’s an impressive piece of tech for $400-500 depending on your chosen model, but some of the compromises like target frame rate and storage capacity feel shortsighted given where gaming hardware is on PC in 2020. I’m excited to see how it matures with new games designed for PS5, particularly with the incredible new Dual Sense controller.

Worth the wait
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony Playstation 5 is an amazing game console, and since it's release in 2020 a very difficult item to find for a reasonable price. The console itself is a huge improvement over the previous Sony line with the PS4 and PS4 Pro. Gone are the loud jet fans that wind up quickly and are apparent during any gaming session. The PS5 sports a gen 4 NVME SSD drive that is light years beyond the spinning discs of the last-gen, so boot times are almost non-existent in many titles. The addition of 4K up to 120fps are welcome with the new hardware. Also, optional ray tracing adds a performance hit to many games so many offer performance or quality settings. But still, options are good. As far as a games library, the library is starting to build, with many games patching to add PS5 features. With this the internal storage (and with a recent update optional internal NVME upgradability) is the only way to play PS5 games. Fortunately, if you do have a large library you can connect a USB 3 hard drive to store and play PS4 titles, as well as store and transfer back later PS5 titles you don't currently have room for. This is great for the games that you might not want to redownload because of data caps, but plan to get back to later. As far as accessories, bring all of your current PS4 games and controllers as they are nearly all supported. In fact, PS4 Dual Shock controllers pair and work with PS4 titles on the system. And many of the issues with PS4 titles have been worked out on PS5, so unstable FPS or other issues with many games have been patched to just perform better on PS5. I can't think of a single game that performs worse, so for me the PS5 was a replacement for my PS4 Pro. Also the PS5 camera is nearly worthless as it only supports web streaming and not PSVR, so hold onto your old PS4 Camera. For new accessories, I highly recommend grabbing the Sony dual controller charger and maybe a second controller if you play local multiplayer on any PS5 games. But that is about it. All around the Sony Playstation 5 is a great console that feels next-gen especially if you have been with Sony for a while now. Unfortunately, these will likely be hard to find for at least another year, but when you do find one it will be worth the wait.

Love my PS5, but I will address my 4 issues
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was very simple (physically and digitally) and the PS5 is very attractive in both horizontal and vertical positions. I have a catalog of over 300+ games from the PS4 that I’m itching to play with a more stable frame rate and performance (previously owned PS4 slim). The good: -4K gaming at 60/120 hz (MOST of the time, some backwards compatible titles are still capped at 30, 120 HZ is only if you have hdmi 2.1 and for certain titles) -very sleek design. It’s quiet without a CD inside. -UI looks nice, easier to multi task -the Dualsense controller feels a lot better than DualShock The bad: -I will be honest, I am disappointed that a lot of games are still capped at 30 FPS solely because there wasn’t an update on the individual games to uncap it. That being said, if a game had moments where everything slowed down and freezed from too much happening at a time, i have not been seen them at all with the PS5. Some games do offer free upgrades from the PS4 version, but games like Nioh are being remastered instead. Or in Control’s case where you only get a free upgrade if you purchased the ultimate edition. Or in Yakuza Like a Dragon, you do get a free upgrade, but your save file does not carry over from the 2 versions. -Another problem I have is the UI. At first I thought there were way more options than PS4, but I realized there’s a lot of things taken out as well. For example, games no longer have an option to be put in a folder so you can’t sort games the way you want to. Only ways to sort are how recent you played, date purchased, and alphabetical. They also added a filter between PS3/PS4/PS5 games, though it does not support PS5 games. Also they still never added in option to delete a game from your library. Yes you can delete a game from your console but it will still show up in your library. That means all the free trials and demos, or free games that you tried out will also be in the library. The UI really limits customization options and they even took out themes. Also, when you type in the search bar on the Home Screen, it brings up everything from the store, not just what you own. I’m trying to look for a game, not browse through 20 DLCs. -Finally my last complaint, the disc drive. It is the only loud part of the console and I’m not sure if it’s a bug, but the optical drive is louder than PS4’s. I took the screws of my fan out to see if a sticky label was near the fan (a common problem seen on Twitter), but I did not have this issue. Many assume it is coil whine. When I first turn on the PS5, if a disc is already inside, the UI will tell me that the game is unsupported or corrupt. Reinserting the disc remedies this problem. Reinserting the disc also sometimes fixes the screeching sound. When the screeching sound isn’t there, the only time the ps5 is loud is when I copy a game onto the console (since the CDs are just license authenticators) or every once in a while for the ps5 to check for authentication. -Also, the storage is really low. After system usage, you really only get about 600-700 GB of space. PS5 games are NOT able to be installed on external hard drives, only PS4 games. When you have games like Call of Duty Modern Warfare taking up 150+ GB, I see this as a big problem. I used my 8 TB external hard drive from my PS4 for my PS5. 7 TB is used for my games and there are times when the UI does slow down. If possible I would wait until Sony enables the m.2 SSD expansion slot and use that for storage instead. Overall, I enjoy my PS5. If you get the digital version, 1/4 of the problem is already solved. If Sony and game developers fix some of the cons, I would definitely give this a higher rating. A lot of games are starting to receive patches or remasters, and Sony has already thrown out 2 performance patches. The PS5 is really good value for next gen gaming. Same with Xbox Series X, though they do not really have many exclusive games (albeit they don’t have as many reported launch bugs as PS5). You could build a PC with ray tracing, 4K, 120 hz/FPS, but it will not be 499$ (even with sales).

Ps5
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS5 is a powerful console that offers stunning 4K graphics, fast loading times, and a revolutionary DualSense controller. It also has a large library of exclusive games that showcase the console’s unique features, such as 3D audio, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback. However, the PS5 is not without its flaws, such as its massive size, limited storage space, and lack of backward compatibility with older PlayStation games.

Ps5 is great.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: The Playstation 5 delivers a truly next-gen experience. Unboxing is quick and easy; all cables and accessories are securely wrapped as is the console itself. The PS5 is packaged with a new HDMI cable, stand (this is a welcome addition), DualSense controller with charging cable, and power cable. Setting up is as simple as you'd expect; cables go exactly where you'd expect and you're finally ready to hit that power button. The machine powers up and you - the user - are guided through the set up process; connecting to your router, setting screen preferences etc. The home screen is streamlined and easy to navigate. I like the single tap/long press functionality of the redesigned PS button on the controller; the former displaying a mini-menu at the bottom of the screen, the latter taking you to the main home screen of your console. Graphically, the PS5 is stunning. I loaded Spider Man: Miles Morales DURING the set-up process and the game was ready to play in around 10mins. Absolutely sensational! Gameplay is slick, fast and brimming with dynamics. The PS5 delivers all of this from virtually silent hardware; gone is the jet-engine roar of the PS4.The DualSense controller is a dream; haptic feedback is immersive, innovative and impressive. You'll feel like your on a train rumbling over tracks, feeling every bump in your hands. Amazing.Logging in via the Playstation app made for a smooth, easy transition from PS4 to PS5. Highly recommended. If this is what next generation gaming looks like, then sign me up. Absolutely amazing addition to the Playstation legacy. Cons: My right hand isn't used to the new DualSense controller yet and I keep missing the menu button. This isn't the console's fault, although it is annoying me until I can adapt. Again, my problem, not the PS5's.Themes are absent from the settings sub-menu, which could be seen as a negative point, although the range of changing backgrounds displaying game and media info etc. are more than enough to keep your eyes busy. The ridiculously-short DualSense charging cable is only good for sitting three feet away from your console while your controller charges. Not an issue once charged, although I think it's high time console manufacturers included longer cables of premium quality for combined gaming/charging.

||Posted . Powerful next-gen console
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While the PS5 library isn’t that large yet, it has only been out for a year. For now I would still rate it as an excellent system, the UI is very good, it’s incredibly powerful, it’s relatively quiet, it plays 4K Blu-Rays, and most PS4 games. The best thing about the console is probably the controller though, Sony made some real innovations with the DualSense, the haptic feedback is super cool in some games like Astro’s Playroom. Bottom line, if you can find one this is a great system.

One word...Amazing
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got mine on the 13th of January and I've played it every day since. It's a beast of a console, with super fast load times, amazing 4K graphics, and a controller that is unlike anything I've ever held before. It's super quiet and barely puts off any heat. Sony really brought it this time, and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite consoles ever. There isn't a ton of games for it yet, but im looking forward to what's coming in the future and how amazing they are going to look running at 4k 60 or 120 fps. Definitely happy with my purchase.

The best in gaming
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best in gaming gets better. Great graphics, great speed, innovative dualsenze controller brings you in the game more than ever before. New revamped ui that allows you to hop right into specific activities in a game within seconds. 4k up to 120fps the best games and enhances ps4 and psvr games. If I were to knock it would be the ssd space and its a large machine which may not fit into everyone's entertainment center. You only get 667 of the 825 to use and the additional storage slot is inactive until a future firmware update and compatible drives.

PS5
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS5 definitely has a premium feel. You can tell the difference between this console and the PS4 instantly. The feel and look of the home screen the fluid movement and response time of controller when you move from icon to incon in the screen it's just an all around upgrade. It definitely makes you feel like you are in the next gen of gaming. The exclusives like Ratchet and clank a rift apart, Returnal. God of war : Ragnarok, Spider-Man Miles Morales Astros playroom are worth the upgrade. The haptic feedback of the dual sense also pushes an increased sense of immersion. Even games that are remastered or upgraded for the PS5 show the true power and potential for new properties in the future. Definitely happy I got lucky enough to snag one

Great improvement over PS4
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent new PS console. The graphics and especially the speed are an amazing improvement. Even downloading games is much faster than before. You can play almost entirely your old PS4 games and some of the new games like Astro Bot, Spider-Man Miles Morales and Sackboy are a must have. The console is very quiet as well and the new controller, the Dual Sense gives new way to okay videogames. I hope that most developers in the future take advantage of such a great feature. Totally recommended if you can afford it at this tough moment.

Great Buy!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the new haptic feedback on the controllers. SSD technology definitely is a game changer on console and makes games run much smoother. Depending on the game, load times are vastly improved. Power and performance is impressive and being tied to a 4K projector is a great way to play and watch movies. 4K blu-ray player is long overdue and works great. Only downside is loud disk noises at boot up and sometimes throughout gameplay.
