The PlayStation 5 feels incredibly futuristic
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The jump from PS4 to PS5 is massive. You are able to instantly download everything from your PS4 on to your PS5 through the cloud network. Which means you can instantly have all of your old games and saves on your new console. Many old games also have updated versions that allow the game to run faster with better graphics. The load times are significantly better so you spend much less time waiting to play your games. The controller is arguably the most futuristic part of this new console. The triggers are able to add resistance for when you pull them. This can be used in a variety of ways like showing fatigue in a sports game. The triggers can also be used to differentiate the feel of a pistol with the feel of a sniper rifle in a shooter like call of duty. The haptic feed back is also an incredible part of the controller which makes the vibration more dynamic and detailed. There is even a built in microphone in the controller so you no longer need a headset. Overall, the PlayStation 5 is truly the next step in console gaming. This ambitious piece of technology is jam packed with features that will impress any gamer. They’re also constantly adding new features in updates such as the mouse and keyboard support that came in the most recent update. I would definitely recommend the PS5 to anyone who enjoys video games.

Best Playstation Yet!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Playstation 5 is a powerhouse gaming platform that offers SSD drive speeds and does not disappoint. From the second I switch this bad boy on I feel a sense of joy, then when the main menu pops up seconds later, I feel pure gratification. Long gone are the days where booting up and loading between scenes and or areas. Now, we have a seamless experience to keep you in the action or drama. Now, the system has very few games at this point in time which were actually made for it, but what is available is very beautiful and fluent in regards to gameplay and stability. However, one of the most interesting features that sets it apart from say the latest xbox is the controller. The first time that I felt the increased resistance the triggers offered in a shooting game I was impressed. While its not the most natural thing to experience, and in some cases with the resistance set to maximum, it can be hard to pull the trigger without affecting the controller; meaning it pulls the controller and could force you to have to re-adjust the controller in your hand. Finally, my main complaint is simply with storage and the state of the apps that come with it. You will either need to use PS Plus for cloud storage so you can swap out games, or invest in the expansion storage when it becomes available. I recommend the PS5 for anyone looking to up their experience, and to somewhat future proof the console experience for the next few years.

Love it!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS5 is definitely worth the investment. Its performance is super fast and smooth, the load times are next to non-existent, the graphics are awesome and the controller's haptic feedback is honestly impressive and effectively immersive. Besides that, it looks amazing and runs much quieter than the PS4 Pro. First time I bought a console at launch and I don't regret it a bit! Love it!

I like playstation
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great console, very fast. Not as big of an upgrade from ps4 as I'd like, but it makes ps4 games run better and ps5 only games are starting to come out now. Best home console on the market. I just bought a gaming laptop but ill probably stick to ps5. Kind of stuck to psn since ive accrued so many games for better or worse

Worth the wait
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't had a PlayStation console in a number of years and considered re-buying a PS4 Pro for certain games I missed out on (Ghost of Tsushima and God of War). I'm so glad I waited. The upgrades the PS5 offers over the PS4 for games are incredible. Better frame rates with top notch visuals, quieter console, amazing 3D audio. Then there's the controller. It truly feels next gen with its haptics and adjustable controller tension. Astro's Playroom really showed off all the capabilities of this new gateway to gaming. My two criticisms of the console are its enormous size and overall, to me, unappealing look. It just is a pretty ugly console. And with it being as big as it is, it really stands out. I also wish there was more storage space inside as only 5 games installed (Astro's Playroom, Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, Spider-Man, and Miles Morales) all take up about half of the available storage. Game sizes aren't small and having to clear a game off to make room for another at a pretty regular rate is going to suck for download speeds and data caps. And kudos to Best Buy for implementing the only good form of bot protection I've encountered. It still took a few tries due to incredible demand, but their system is the one that works best. But, overall, I can't recommend this console enough.

Great Gaming Value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a PC gamer for many years and owned many consoles in the past. The PS5 is pretty powerful for the money. It has a fantastic SSD (Solid State Drive) because it is a PCIe 4.0 custom SDD. Unfortunately, you cannot use all of the 825Gb. I had around 660GB after updating to the latest operating system. The PS5 is quiet when playing games. Once in a while, the fans will ramp up for a few seconds. The controller is a lot better than I expected because of the new adaptive triggers. You can charge the controller with a type c cable. You can play most of your ps4 games on the PS5. If you want to expand your storage, you have to use an external drive that connects to one of the back USB ports. At the time of this review, the external drive can only be used for installing PS4 games. I have not experienced any crashes with games.

Worth the Wait!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was absolutely worth the wait. The graphics are amazing, and the SSD is lightning fast. Games load so much faster than what my PC's SSD's can handle. The dualsense controller's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers are also a really cool addition to the game. It's one of those things that I didn't know would make such a difference until I actually experienced it.

Absolutely great
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the PS5, and it has exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I powered it on, I was blown away by its sheer power and graphical prowess. The stunning visuals, coupled with the smooth and seamless gameplay, have truly elevated my gaming experiences to new heights. Only downside is the storage, it should have been at least 2tb.

Next-gen is now current gen!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was one of the lucky few who was able to preorder and pick this up on launch day. Luckily, no launch day issues. Pro - Storage speed. Games just loads instantly. - Exclusive games on launch day. - The console just looks amazing even though all the memes - Controller just feels amazing - Fan is quiet compared to the PS4. - Games just looks so much amazing due to better CPU and GPU in the PS5. Now for games to uncap frame rate or provide game patches for PS5. Con - Storage space. Unfortunately, with only roughly 650GB of storage space available, you would only be able to fit only so many games. However, Sony will be opening up for storage expansion down the road once the NVME SSD is up to par per Sony requirements - When reading disc, can be loud, but that's only during installation but during normal operations, quiet from 3 feet away - Sony logo on the controller off-centered... not the end of the world or deal breaker - Software bugs but that can be sorted out with patch updates.

Next-Gen gaming at its finest
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am lucky I was able to preorder this on launch day, by far the best PlayStation console to date. Not sure it is a must have though, as there are not a lot of games or optimized games for it yet, but that will all come in due time! The PS5 is rather large, so if you have a smaller entertainment center it might not fit into it, and you may need to place on top of it, or somewhere else. It is quiet when running; if you have a PS4 or PS4 Pro, then you know how load those consoles can be, and the PS5 being so quiet is worth the upgrade for this aspect alone. If you can ever find one in stock! The controller is a game changer, but beware; the adaptive triggers break easily. Make sure you get insurance on your console, I'd recommend buying a 2nd controller and getting the BB insurance on the 2nd controller, that way if one breaks you can replace just the controller and not having to replace the entire console. I'd also recommend turning the adaptive triggers off if you play FPS games and that will wear them out much quicker. The vibration is strong on these controllers. The adaptive triggers and vibration will give you a more pleasant playing experience, that will feel more immersive with most all games made for the PS5.

Most Innovative Console Since N64/PS1
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most favorite console since the original launch of the N64! Been playing video games all my life, and there are only a few console generations or games that can stand the test of time as true innovations. The PS5 is one of them. The DualSense controller itself is the biggest jump in controller design since analog sticks were adopted. The adaptive triggers and haptic feedback of the DualSense vastly increase the depth of the immersion and far surpasses what rumble motors currently do (let’s hope developers take advantage). When you add DualSense controller features + Better graphics + big jump in FPS + significantly decreased loading times + fairly great (although limited #) of launch titles + how quiet it is (compared to PS4) then saying the PS5, when looked at as a whole, is much more than the sum of its parts is an understatement. It feels like going from SNES to N65, or from PS1 to PS2, or like pong to pac man. If you are on the fence, don’t be. Buy it.

The pinnacle of PlayStation gaming
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am sharing my perspective as someone moving from the PS4 Pro to the PS5. I have very much appreciated the following: - faster load times and easier ability to switch among games - fantastic graphics, as demonstrated in Demon Souls (just started) and Resident Evil Village (finished, loved it), the main games I've played so far - new haptic controller is cool, but so far only Astro's Playroom and Demon Souls seem to fully use it (of the games I've played) - no problem playing PS4 games so far (with one exception, The Sims 4, which is not working) That being said, coming from a PS4 Pro, the PS5 seems like an incremental upgrade, and I think PS4 Pro owners can wait. This situation will get better as new games that take full advantage of the PS5's graphics & controller capabilities are released. Also, moving all my save data (for all accounts) from the PS4 to the PS5 was harder than it needed to be, though I believe it would have been quite easy if I had a subscription to PlayStation Plus, with cloud storage. If you are new to PlayStation or if you are coming from a PS3 or earlier, the PS5 is amazing and I very highly recommend it. I rate it 4.5 out of 5.

PS5 Happy Customer Review
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My boyfriend and I absolutely love using our PS5. It took a while to get but it was well worth it. We’ve been using it consistently for the past year and the console and accessories are still like new. Performance and hardware are great. The visuals/graphics are amazing and the UI is user friendly. Overall, would highly recommend.

Curbside Pickup is Fantastic!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What is there left to say about the PS5? It is a fantastic system and the haptic feedback in the DualSense Controller is truly a next generation feature that I cannot describe with words alone. I cannot wait to pair this console with a 4K HDR TV soon. That said, even at 1080p, the performance gain alone is worth the PS5's price tag. I upgraded from the original version of the Xbox One and the load times are noticably quick. I probably spend a fourth of the time waiting for things to load and update than I did the previous generation thanks to the solid state drive. I found the process of picking up the PS5 effortless. I especially appreciate the curbside option, where I did not even have to get out of my car. I hope Best Buy decides to keep this pick up option around after the pandemic ends. It's very customer friendly and I definitely consider purchasing more items from Best Buy in the future versus ordering an item from Amazon or another online retailer to be delivered to my door. Being able to pick up expensive tech at the physical store is invaluable given the rise of porch pirates and the inconvenience of having to catch the delivery person at just the right time to sign for the package.

Excellent purchase
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The games look and feel great. The haptic feedback is awesome. The fan noise is waaay better than the ps4 pro, but noisier than the Xbox series x which is completely silent. The 2 problems are the storage space is terrible until they develop an expansion. And the controller is a huge upgrade except it needs more of an angle where you grip it

The best gaming experience yet!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to wait over a year to finally get my hands on the PS5 and although I wish I could have gotten it sooner. I am so happy with the overall gaming experience so far. The processors is incredibly fast! the game play is exceptional! and it is so realistic (depending on what games you are playing). For example the new F1 22, is the ultimate gameplay experience. At times, I actually thought and felt I was in Monaco. Pro: Intuitive interaction and life like graphics. As long as you have 120 motion rate, the game play is phenomenal. Con: even after a year, the gaming console is still extremely hard to get. It takes a bit of time to set up the entire console (be patient). It’s still feels a little costly for what you’re getting. The disc version of the console is almost $600, when you include taxes. Even the games are kinda pricey. So be prepared to have a huge dent in your pockets when you purchase the PS5.

Next generation game console
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent console for those looking for an easy quick plug and play gaming set up. Although the advertising is a bit exaggerated, it is still a very capable device. What do I mean about advertising being exaggerated? Although the box claims the device is 4K/8K capable, it is not true native 4K. Most games use special techniques to render image in 4K. Most games even in quality mode run at 1440p-1800p and upscaled. Image still looks fantastic but if you're someone that can notice resolution well, you may feel the image isn't as crisp as true native 4K. The sound scape is fantastic on this console and being hooked up to a 5.1 surround sound system brings it to life. HDR is great as well. The controller however will be a bit of a disappointment due to battery life but depending how long your gaming sessions are it may not matter much since they sell separately a nice charging dock for easy quick charging when taking a break or calling it for the day. Overall highly recommended this console for someone that prefers a quick easy way to get into gaming.
