It's next gen gaming and it's great. My favorite part so far has been the controller, which feels weird to say, but it's a game changer. There are only a handful of games that take advantage of the tech, but when they do I always think to myself, "This is next gen!". It does wonders on old games as well, I was able to play Control without all the stuttering and hitches on my PS4 Pro. Games load super quick. If I had to say something bad about it, it would be that the disc drive is very loud, and for some strange reason it kicks in even when not playing the disc in the drive. Like, if watching Netflix, the disc drive will just kick in and it's loud.

Graphics and performance are a big upgrade from PS4 but the best part is the new controller. Only complaint I have is the console is huge looking forward to a “slim” version in the future.

Upgrading from an original PS4, and WOW. This system is a huge improvement. I'm currently playing through many PS4 games, and the backwards compatibility does not disappoint. Improved load times, graphics(since I was on the original PS4), and increased FPS. I would be careful about the data transfer from PS4, since I had an issue with it getting stuck. A database rebuild was required on the PS4( you can Google this), but I didn't end up losing any data. I've tried the new dualsense controller in Astro's playroom as a tech demo. The new technology is very cool with adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. If you're a PlayStation fan, this is a must buy.

Well its worth the enduring the nightmare one has to live through to actually get one without paying three times the msrp. Its load times are so much faster that it is similar to a comouter with a m.2 ssd and a 2080 ti oc. The grafics are great! A big step up from the ps4 and the headphones with this new positional audio actually work and change the gameing experience. You really need tp try this system. I game on computers and they, so long as everything is new and consequently expensive, are still better but its getting close. If you can find one and afford a ps5 it is a must buy.

So I haven't been interested on what's been out as far as PS5 games so I've been replaying my PS4 games. Definitely better load times, the games that have been upscaled clearly show it, and, if you are a PS Plus member the free games you can play are high quality. I've only been able to feel the haptic feedback of the controller playing Astro's Playroom, but I see potential there. I'm am very looking forward to the upcoming releases of Ratchet, Horizon, and FFVII Intergrade to name a few, so being able to secure a system now and not when the games comes out is fortunate. Good luck to those still trying!

It's a big beautiful next gen gaming machine! It loads faster, PS5 games look amazing and and PS4 games look better. The new controller is astounding, the best on the market hands down - buttons feel better, haptic controller is fantastic. though it is a lot bigger then than the PS4 controller. Set up was easy. The console is really quiet. Downsides: not so many new games out right now that are PS5 exclusive; I did experience a download save game glitch that sorted itself, and my PSVR set won't work correctly (even with the ps5 dongle attachment). This is my first "early adoption" of a major console and I'm not disappointed!

I’ve had the PS5 for almost a month now and I really enjoy it. It’s a very powerful console and the detailed graphics of the games is really impressive. Load times are fast, the interface is clean and the dual sense controller is really something special. I’m looking forward to future game releases to see how developers take full advantage of the power the PS5 has. This system is hard to get currently but totally worth it. I highly recommend it. I’ve been a diehard Xbox user since the beginning and this is 2nd PlayStation I’ve ever owned aside from the first PlayStation. I’m very happy with my purchase.

This is true next generation. Not a rehash or a reiteration of something that came before. This looks nothing like any if the previous playstations and I like that. Its different and its eye catching. The controller is also next gen as well. Haptic feedback on the triggers are amazing. Especially in Call of Duty Black Ops Cold war. Each gun feels different as you pull or hold down the trigger. Astro's Playroom was a pleasant surprise and is actually fun for a free game. It doesn't feel like a tacked on tech demo. I'm enjoying it so far and I'm looking forward to the many great exclusives that are coming soon. Next Gen is here.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the ps5, it’s pretty much given me full oak since opening it. If you can get your hands on one, I fully recommend playing Ghost of Tsushima and God of War after the upgrades, guaranteed eye candy. The controller is amazing, the haptic feedback is amazing. One minute in Astros playroom and you really get to see what that thing can do! This is definitely next gen! The only con I see so far is the limited memory, 680 gb isn’t very large for the games these days. They should’ve gave us 2 TB. But other than that complaint it’s a smooth system with amazing speed to load games.

I was lucky to be able to get this during a 3am restock. The process of transferring PS4 data (PSN profile, save data, apps, installed games) was ridiculously easy. You can do the transfer via cable, wifi, or cloud. If you are using an external hard drive then there isn't any transfer required; just plug it into the new console and it works with no reformatting required. The first game I played on the PS5 was Ghost of Tsushima which had an amazing improvement in image quality compared to running on the PS4 (same disc and version). There are currently some limitations on the newer effects (Miles Morales can run at 30 FPS with Ray Tracing or 60 FPS without). You get about 20 free games with a PS Plus subscription (best of PS4 collection) for being a PS5 owner. Almost every game loads insanely fast, especially when installed on the SSD. Currently PS5 games can only be installed on the internal SSD and PS4 games can be installed to either the SSD or an external HDD. The UI is clean and easy to navigate; however, there are currently no theme options for the PS5. There are 2 main UI tabs: games and media. The dualsense controller has some great features. I am a huge fan of the adaptive triggers and new rumble patterns. They also have solid onboard speaker/microphone and can do several light colors. I would recommend using the Astro's Playroom game for the full/fun demo. (Fun Fact: the texturing on the bottom of the controllers is made of tiny X, Square, Triangle, and O symbols). Battery life is quite good and there is now a feature that allows you to hold down a new button on the controller to mute/unmute the microphone and tv or just press it to mute/unmute the microphone. A major con for the controller is that it can develop stick drift fairly fast and become unusable. My original controller developed it within 1~1.5 months of fairly heavy gaming, but I have not had recurrence of the issue with the replacement or additional controllers. As far as the console itself goes, it is MASSIVE. Almost as big as a PS4 and Xbox Series X combined. Due to its shape, it comes with a wedge-shaped stand to place it on its side. The white fins seem to be snapped into place and can become loose, resulting in a vibrating noise requiring them to be pressed back in place. The disc drive can also be VERY loud when first reading a disc. The HDMI cable provided with the console is an HDMI 2.1, and is necessary for taking full advantage of the console capabilities with newer TVs (I use an LG CX). I highly recommend buying a PS5 (physical edition-most PS4 games are being released with free PS5 upgrades at a later date) if you have the chance.

The 5th Generation of PlayStation is here. Games load insanely fast, the fan is really quiet, and the controller feels amazing with adaptive triggers. If you have a good 4K tv you will instantly see the graphical improvements from PS4 to PS5. The Ray tracing stands out most in Spider-Man Miles Morales so far but other games also use it. You won’t understand how the controllers adaptive triggers feel until you have it in your hands. It really does bring a whole new experience to games. The Home-screen takes some getting use to. The way you start a party and check notifications is different but faster once you figure it out.

Do you need to upgrade from a PS4 to PS5 immediately? No. Granted the PS5 is awesome and does feel like next generation in many ways. The Dualsense controller is a big upgrade and the haptic feedback with 3D audio really does add a true new level of immersion that is not a gimmick. Although so far we only have a handful of games that take advantage of those features. Overall it's a great system, my only real gripe is it still has a very noisy disc drive, but when it's not reading the disc the system is very quiet. I'd say if you want one and can get it at retail, do it but don't pay the resellers, it's not worth it.

A huge step up from the PS4, the UI has a great next gen feel to it, matching up to its futuristic design. Runs extremely quiet in comparison to the PS4 Pro while running PS4 and PS5 games with ease. Disc model is a definite must have for disc based backwards compatibility. Controller is also a huge step up from the PS4, with the haptic feedback being a big game changer. Playing PS4 games where it isn't utilized was very noticeable after using it. Main downsides currently are the account of storage space and how difficult it is to get one. Otherwise, a great purchase that I have no regrets about.

It's a PS5 - there's a lot of hype around it. I'm a PC gamer so it looks good but it's not quite on the same level as PC games. There's no doubt that it's a big step up in generation from the PS4, but it's in ways no so obvious. For example, it loads everything MUCH faster than the previous generation and it can run at a solid 60 FPS. That's really the biggest step between the two generations. It may be able to run some games at higher frame-rates but most people don't have TV's truly capable of displaying those higher frame rates so it's irrelevant for a console. The controller is what also feels really next-generation. The adaptive triggers, for example, set this apart. I love the Xbox controller for what it is, but it's not revolutionary. The PS5 controllers alone make it feel more advance than the Series X does. So why 4 stars? In the 2020's releasing a premium game console with less than 1tb of storage space is an insult. Yes, they have finally unlocked the m.2 port (long after release date), but that means investing another $100+ for another 1tb of storage (it has to be a gen 4 SSD that meets Sony's requirements). Flash storage is not expensive, there's no reason for the base storage size of ~800gb when some games top 250 gb alone.

So first things first, the system is great. Loading times are improved, and graphics for new games are amazing. The controller is really revolutionary, but for fps games like COD I recommend turning the triggers off. Having a game like Astros Playroom available was a really good strategy, and the console itself looks impressive. The fans are really quiet and keep the console considerably cool. The only cons I can think of is the actual size of the console, and there are a few flaws in the interface, mostly in creating a party chat. Overall its really good, only a few minor inconveniences.

I am enjoying my Playstation 5 load times for my PS3 PS4 AND PS5 GAMES. The system is extremely Quiet it makes no noise no matter the work load that I give it. The quality of the Playstation 5 is awesome including the Controller and stand that comes with the Console. The Console has like this brick like texture design on the inside of the white pillars That feels good to the hand. You can also take the Pillars off and Customized your PS5 pillars by Painting them whatever color you want to. You can also add your name and designs on the pillars without causing any damage to the PS5 internally and Externally
