Next gen console gaming is here....sort of?
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This console is a beast, there's no denying that, it can rival some AV receivers size wise. I haven't had my hands on an original Xbox but this feels at the same level. Anyways, the SSD is lightning quick, load times do feel next gen as you don't have to sit there and wait for a while. The storage is lacking, especially if you have a backlog of PS4 games or in my case, bought a lot of games that went on sale during Black Friday 2020. 825GB of storage space is simply not enough in this year for these games. Back to my opening sentence about next gen, perhaps this console was released too early along with the Series X, the hardware is there for both consoles and they have even had their fair share of launch month problems for almost everyone, however, even though the hardware is there, the games themselves have not even scratched the surface of what next gen can do. For now, the thing that I would say gives the PS5 the edge is the Dualsense controller; it simply cannot be put into words how innovative it can be and it's a travesty that it's powers are only fully fleshed out in the Astrobot game (but hey at least it's free). The Dualsense is what the joycons tried to be and it may very well be the best controller for console gaming ever made to date. If you can buy it then go for it at the price you want, however, you will not see the potential console if you don't have a 4KTV, it should be a requirement.

Great System
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PlayStation 5 so far has a very good starting library of games. The Dualsense controller is one of the best controllers I have ever used with it's new features. The system is very large so make sure you have space in your entertainment spot for this console. The UI of the system is very much improved over the PS4 and I am sure future updates will improve on it even more. The Storage on this device isn't the biggest and can probably install 10 or so games on the SSD. So hopefully soon they will approve more storage options in the future. I highly recommend this system.

this is next generation entertainment
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony finally outdid themselves. As the owner of both a gaming pc with a I-9900K, 32 gigs of pc4200 RAM an nvidia RTX 2080TI Founders edition and fast m.2 SSD Consoles have officially caught up to the master PC race - for now. everything is fast everything looks great and plays great especially on an OLED TV. I currently play demon souls and it looks incredible Spider-Man loads in seconds and plays great! So I need you I now loads games much better than the PS4 ever could. Definitely happy with my purchase and I hope that you can find one to experience it as well

Finally! Worth The Wait!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After trying and trying to get one for months I was finally able to get one at Best Buy. It shipped and arrived at the store two days earlier than it was expected to. Console is great, there is no noise compared to the PlayStation 4. The controller is insane, with haptic feedback, the new DuelSense controller is something worth experiencing! The graphics are crazy on this thing, the fact that many PS4 games are getting enhancements to work on the PS5 is even better. I have already spent countless hours playing games on it. Could not be happier!

Totally worth the effort to get one.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not sure how this doesn’t get a 5 star review. Loads times are essentially nonexistent. Controller is amazing, and the issues I’ve read other people complaining about haven’t even hinted at popping up. Are the graphics and fps as good as a pc or top end pc? Of course not but the games look and play beautifully and the next gen games aren’t even here yet. So the detractors can have their opinion as it means nothing to me. I’ve always gamed on consoles and always will. Anyone on the fence about getting one should just get off the fence. On the side of buying it.

Love it
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The console itself has held up great and I use it constantly even just to stream shows or youtube. I do wish it had more storage but you can buy more. Also, the controller that came with it has developed massive stick drift so that it's impossible to use. Bought a new controller and I've had no issues.

A great upgrade to the Playstation 4
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a definite upgrade from the Playstation 4, in its specs and interface. Having a base PS4 from launch, I can tell that the PS5 is much more quiet and capable of handling next-gen games, or even playing PS4 games when installed. The option of 60 fps is a game changer for PS5 games, compared to the more typical 30 fps seen in many PS4 games in the last generation. Although the SSD is easily another useful addition, able to load up games much faster than the HDD drive of the past generations, and letting you switch between games much more easily.

Load times, frame rates, controller, 4K UHD
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Load times are incredible. Even if your PS4 game doesn't get a specific PS5 upgrade, the load times can make an unplayable game (like Tides of Numenara) playable just because the load times are so much shorter. Frame rates. Again, even if your PS4 game didn't get a specific PS5 upgrade, the frame rates will be smooth. Give Bloodbourne another try. Controller is next level. The haptic feedback is amazing. 4K UHD. Start up God of War, go to the display settings and enable 4K and UHD. Pick up your jaw from the floor.

Worth Every Tear And Penny To Get One
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really pleased that i camped on the Best Buy website for days and finally got one. The improvement of the SSD alone is quite noticeable, and the graphics improvements are substantial. This device is much more efficient with storeage space as well. The PS4 games which i had on a 3 Tb external drive are now on an external SSD for the PS5, and what was more than 2Tb of games on PS4/Ext HDD is now less than 2TB on an ext SSD on the PS5. Sold the PS4 Pro on my second day of PS5 ownership and haven't looked back at all.

Great Upgrade Over the PS4
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Loving the PS5 for the few days I've had with the console. Everything is super fast and snappy from navigating the main menu to loading the games almost within seconds rather than minutes on the PS4. The controller is a huge upgrade especially with how refined the haptics are. The best way to describe the haptics on the controller is that it's very similar to how iPhone's haptics are. Graphics look amazing, especially Demon Souls. PS4 games run at 60FPS and it is very noticeable. Worth getting especially at $399!

PS fan converted to XBOX but now I am back home
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The controller alone is awesome from having a speaker built in which provides sort of a 3d sound to a mic built in to motion like a wii controller to touch sensitivity to vibration and triggers that make the experience even more real. I am in love with this new system. I do hate how big this system is which does cause you to figure out where you can place it. I placed mine behind my 65 inch Tv and it is half as till as the tv. Load times are super fast and the gameplay is super smooth.

Amazing performance and a big upgrade.
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Massive improvement from ps4 pro. 60 fps at 4k HDR on Destiny 2 looks amazing. So much smoother, quieter, and loads games 3 times faster. I love it and have not had 1 ounce of trouble. It is durable also. I travel weekly for work so it gets plugged in to a new tv 2 times per week. Weekends at home and mon to thurs. In motel. 6 months of use and still works like new. Also the controller is still working perfectly which is much better than previous generations.

Nearly perfect!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing performance. I knew what to expect, and I know the limitations of the console coming from being an avid gamer on my pc with an rtx 3070. For the price, the PS5 is absolutely amazing. The controller itself is the most impressive part of the console. The new controller is comfortable and probably my favorite controller, beating out the xbox one controller I use on pc. So far I have only played Astro's playroom, Miles Morales, and Demon's Souls. That launch lineup alone makes me content with my PS5 purchase, so I am definitely looking forward to the next exclusive PS5 titles. The negatives are few, but do need to be addressed. First it the disk drive. It seems the RPM on the drive is set extremely high when copying a disk to the PS5 on first insert, and also when first booting up a game. The drive is extremely loud, and is distracting. Seems like this is normal after reading online that many people are having the same issue. Second negative point is the user interface. If you grew up playing Sony consoles, get ready to get used to the new navigation of the home menu. One single PS button press brings up a shortcut widget, and a long press achieves the typical home button function. So muscle memory does fight this new application of the PS button. Not a fan, but I might get used to it. Last negative point is the obvious one. The PS5 has less than 670GB of usable storage. Coming from having over 4TB of SSD storage on my pc, this is a bummer. Even more of a bummer since PS5 games can only be played from the PS5 SSD, and at the moment we cant add a second SSD to the PS5 until they update it to do so. Overall, the positives heavily outweigh the flaws and this console is absolutely amazing. Just about as happy with this purchase as I was when I first got my Nintendo Switch 4 years ago. If you get a chance, upgrade to the PS5...you wont regret it!

Sony VS Microsoft
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a better purchase than the new Xbox. It’s the small things that make PlayStation have the upper hand like the haptic feedback controller and sky scraper design, with tiny designs etched on to it. The exclusive games made for PS does it for me as well as Miles Morales and the Last Of Us 2 being available at launch. The main reason for wanting to buy a mini fridge as a console would be for Halo. The specs are basically the same except for each console except for the Xbox having 1TB of storage.

PS5 Disc Version
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I love everything about the PS5 except the internal storage size. Once the 2nd slot is unlocked to expand internal storage it should fix that problem. The controller feels great and the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback are awesome. It runs quiet and cool without any problems so far. The backward compatibility for PS4 games is working without any problems and runs much better. It is very big so make sure you have a place to put it where it can breathe.
