This system was well worth the wait. It was super easy to set up, and once the updates were done, it performed like a charm. The graphics are far and away the best I have seen on a system (comparing the PS4 and PS5 versions of the same game, Insomniac's Spider-Man game), and installation of PS4 games has also been very easy. I highly recommend this system.

Overall really happy with the console Pros - much faster than the previous generation, cant wait for next-gen exclusive games - the new feedback in the PS5 controllers add a whole new dynamic to games Cons - The hard drive is about 200gb smaller than the Xbox - its freakin huge! - disappointed with how difficult its been to get the next-gen consoles. Something needs to be done about scalpers

Going from an og PS4 to the PS5 makes all the difference in the world. The ps menu is so much better interface-wise. The controller feels so much better than the PS4 one does. Games load at lightening speed if they’re optimized for ps5. I played Miles Morales on both consoles and it doesn’t even compare how much better it is on the new console. All worth the month and a half of struggling to find!

Wow. I mean, what can I say that hasn't already been said about this machine? It's hard to explain just how incredible this console is when it's running on all cylinders with games that were built specifically with the hardware capacities in mind. Playing Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was surreal. I didn't know games could run that well and have that much polish. The controller, oh man the controller. Some might say that it's just a gimmick, but when you play a game that uses it right then the controller just melts away into an unbelievably immersive experience. I understand that so many people will not be able to experience this console for quite some time due to stock shortages and the pandemic, but I'm excited to see where this console goes once this pandemic has finally ended. I only have one gripe with the console and it's not even with the console. There are far too many games that run poorly on this system due to developers and publishers not releasing a next-gen patch for their games. It's not Sony's fault that Hollow Knight, which can run on a paperweight, is locked at 1080p. There are countless instances of games that could be running at a locked native 4K 60fps on this system and I really wish developers would show a little more love.

WOW. This console blew me away. I love this console! It is super fast and the UI is so much better than the PS4. I have my PS4 games on a 4 TB external hard drive and all I had to do was plug it into my PS5 and I was all set. Spiderman: Miles Morales looks and plays incredible!!! Backwards compatibility works exactly as it should. The new controller feels perfect! This is a must buy console!!!

ridiculously silent. cannot be overstated.... it is dead quiet, while at the same time drastically outperforming ps4 pro and xbox one x with a truly unique controller you'll never find similar of elsewhere in a lifetime..... but.... chances are if you're reading this, you probably already made your mind and will end up buying a ps5 regardless of what anyone above it below me have to say about it ;)

It took a while, a year, since thats how long it took for me to actually buy one, but the PS5 design actually grew on me. I've had the system for 2 weeks now and I'm pretty impressed. The new controllers are AWESOME and definitely feel better in my hands than the PS4 controllers due to their size. I am still getting used to the new home screen setup but that will eventually get easier. Upgrading the storage was super easy and I did that a couple days after getting the system since I didn't want to mess with it after it was setup in my entertainment center and all the wires were ran. Ratchet and Clank was the first game I picked up and it looks and plays great, even though I did encounter a few stutters here and there but it wasn't a big deal. I do have an Xbox Series X as well and both systems are great, even though I think the way you expand the storage on the PS5, while a little more time consuming, is better and cheaper for the end user on the PS5. Never cared for proprietary hardware and the price that comes along with it. Overall, glad I waited and didn't pay scalper prices. Best Buy came through for me and was able to get me both systems, even though I had to wait for a while.

I am beyond happy with my PS5 so far. The controller is absolutely next gen and everything about this console is as fast as can be and the fact that a lot of Ps4 games run considerably better than on the PS4, it reignites certain games that had issues or that I never played or finished. Setup is as easy as can be and despite people's comments on the size, it is really a gorgeous piece of technology

Blazing fast loading speeds and cutting edge graphics make the PS5 the best of it's kind. As developer explore the capabilities of the hardware, more and more impressive games will be available. The Dual Sense controller is truly unique and cannot be put into words. Squeezing the trigger adds resistance programable by the developer to simulate the touch on objects, like a gun trigger. Recommended!

After having this console for almost a month I can easily say it's definitely one of the best consoles ive ever played. The controller is the best controller I've ever used, load times are amazing, the picture looks insane on both games and streaming. The download times are way faster despite my wifi being not so great compared to the ps4. My one flaw is that I must mute the mic on the controller and my head set when I go to take a call, my headset it wired and plugs into the console and just muting the mic on the headset won't mute the mic on the controller. The controller feedback on the triggers get a little frusting sometimes but luckily you can turn that off in the settings of Ps5 games. Overall I love it, Id recommend this console to anyone. Last thing, while I was picking up my console I actually met a scalper picking up 2 Xbox series Xs and a Ps5. The employees at Best Buy hate the scalpers and won't even give them bags to carry out the products they bought, which I don't blame them. Once the guy left they came out with my stuff and told me about him and how many times he's already been in there, giving me a bag to put my stuff and telling me how to properly carry it for it is quite heavy and I thank them for not only sharing the information with me but for the help they provided.

Awesome next generation console. I like the feature that lets you change from gaming to other entertainment like google prime video or Netflix and the push of a button. Set up is easy just plug in hdmi port from ps5 to 4k tv and go! Graphics are awesome and content from my ps4 pro easily transferred to my ps5. Just need to add more space or external drive to give more space for game content.

PS5 games are night and day difference compared to PS4 games. Controllers are very cool (e.g. resistance on L1/L2 triggers, haptics, ergonomic, etc.) storage could be better. I added a 2 TB external drive to allow my PS4 games to be stored. Hoping Sony will release a way to allow for PS5 games to be stored there as well in the near future. Did I mention this thing just looks downright cool?

Amazing! As a life long PlayStation player, seeing the progression from the original to this 5th iteration is simply incredible. Fast loads and incredible graphics. I have not experienced any bugs or crashes with this unit. It is bigger than I expected and quite a bit larger than my PS4 but the styling is much more interesting. It's truly a showpiece for any living room or man cave.

What can I say? It's been so difficult to get your hands on one of these, and I am so happy I was finally able to! It's such a nice console, both the design and performance. The haptic feedback from the controller is really cool as well. Sony has definitely delivered once again. Hopefully, they are out soon in numbers, so everyone that wants one is able to get ahold of one!

This thing is amazing. I mostly play on PC, but decided to get a PS5 to play PS exclusives instead of waiting years for them to hopefully come to PC. The graphics are amazing, but my favorite thing about this is definitely the controller. Haptic feedback is amazing. Super satisfied with my purchase.

This thing is a behemoth. It looks big in pictures but it is even larger looking in person. This can be seen as a good thing as the larger size will let it hopefully cool the system and internals better and not ramp up to jet engine sound like the PS4 and PS4 Pro did. The biggest improvements so far are the super fast load times, noise level, and the new controller is amazing.

I’m so excited for next gen! I haven’t owned a console or played video games in years. I stuck to watching playthoughs on YouTube which I didn’t mind because I mainly wanted to see the story of my favorite jrpgs. I would watch the cutscenes just like a movie and really wanted to play them. When Final Fantasy Vll Remake came out I just had to play it. Final Fantasy Vll is my favorite game of all time! I brought the game but didn’t buy a PS4 because I knew the PS5 was coming out during the holidays so since we were going into next gen I wanted to see if I could score a PS5. Yes! I scored! I scored on the very first pre-order Sony dropped after their showcase. It took me 6 hours and a half of refreshing but it was worth it. I got my PS5 on launch day and couldn’t be happier! The first game I played was Final Fantasy Vll Remake of course. It was amazing! It was beautiful! Everything ran smoothly! They said the PS4 sounds like a jet engine but I didn’t have to worry about that. The PS5 is quiet so you can enjoy your games. I haven’t played games in years so wasn’t able to experience last gen but I can now experience next gen and know it’s gonna be good. I’m so glad I was able to score the next gen console. The PS5 is amazing you won’t be disappointed. I’m all ready for next gen baby!

As a long time PS user, I'm very happy with the PS5. Yes, the graphics are as good as everyone says. For me, the biggest upgrades over the PS4 are: 1. It's quiet. I can't even tell that it's on vs the PS4 which sounded like a jet taking off everytime I used it. 2. The controller. The dual sense controller is fantastic and feels like a natural upgrade over the dual shock.

There are lots of reviews about PS5, so I won't repeat most of the accolades already mentioned elsewhere. But I think I want to point out is the DualSense controller. As long as your PS5 game supports it, the haptic feedback varies based the situations, which is awesome! I don't believe any XBox controllers do that (yet). Other observations: 1. Somehow the PS5 UI cannot be themed. I am not sure why. That's a regression of feature, although not an important one. 2. The PS4->PS5 data transfer is flawed. I tried several times and it never went fully successful (granted, I have a 1TB PS4 Pro but the total data should still fit on PS5). In the end I gave up, I just made sure my save data is backed up via PS+, and reinstalled some of the PS4 games again, and restored the savedata on PS5. 3. I believe the PS4 games running on PS5 does benefit from the fast SSD. Not drastic improvements, but I did notice loading times to be a bit shorter. (e.g. Final Fantasy VII Remake, NOT Integrade) If you have not get your hands on a PS5 yet, I wholeheartedly suggest you to keep trying on Best Buy. They have anti-scalping measures. Once you put PS5 in the cart and checks out, they will ask you to log in again to verify you are not a bot. I managed to get mine at Best Buy thanks to this. Good luck!
