Really fun and new. Display feels great, controller is absolutely amazing, and the graphics are super good. I was expecting a lot more but that’s just cause of all the hype. It’s a lot bigger than it seems in photos.

It is really hard to beat the console exclusives that are only PlayStation. However, there's not too many out yet for the PS5. I've finished Demon's Souls on it, but due to the broken rest mode for the system, I ended up needing to reinstall the game early on because it got corrupted due to the system not wanting to wake up out of rest mode. However, I also had the game get corrupted when I didn't close the game (pressing Start then pressing Close Game in the Home menu) before I turned off the console. so I have ended up reinstalling the game twice due to corruption. The new controller additions are great and Returnal makes good use of them. You will feel the rain coming down on you through subtle vibrations of the controller. The two stage triggers are neat for using alternate weapon functions as well. However, you literally restart at the beginning of the game every time you play it unless you put the system in rest mode. The problem is, rest mode is currently broken and you take the chance of corrupting the game and needing to reinstall it when you use rest mode. The SSD does make everything load very fast. The Home screen on the console leaves a lot to be desired because it only ever shows 8 games/applications at one time including whatever service Sony wants to advertise to take up one of those spots. It really just feels like a whole lot of wasted space. Coming from the PS4 to PS5 and having the single press of the PlayStation button go to the Home menu and holding the PlayStation button to open the device options (Sound, Controller, Shutdown options) being reversed on the PS5 still drives me mad after using it for almost a year. Finally, while the 825 GB SSD in the PS5 doesn't seem like it would feel that much smaller than the 1 TB drive in the Xbox Series X, it feels absolutely tiny in practice. I keeping needing to decide what games I want to keep installed because I am always out of space. While I don't look forward to spending another $200 on a 1 TB SSD when the use of the SSD expansion slot being useable comes out of beta, I will be happy to not be constantly out of space anymore.

I love video games and I’ve always loved PlayStation. This console truly feels like the apex of gaming consoles. It took me a while to grow fond of the design, but it truly is an “architectural” and design delight. The form factor can be bulky and obtuse, but it’s certainly is an eye-catching device. All of that truly just dissipates once you experience the gaming powerhouse the PS5 truly embodies. I’m able to start playing open world games in a matter of minutes even when booting from a full power down state. I have been playing so many video games due to this feature. I honestly can’t imagine myself without such computational prowess. The graphics are amazing and the UI is simple, maybe a little too simple. I was surprised to see the vast difference between the PS4 Pro and PS5 when playing Cyberpunk 2077.

PS5 is a nice bump from base PS4. The performance boost in graphics, CPU, and load times are much appreciated. However, do not know how it compares to a newer PS4 or PS4 Pro. Might not be worth it as much as transferring from base PS4.

It was tough getting this bad boy. Luckily I had subscribed to Matt Swider's Twitter alert as well as Jake Randall explaining the checkout process in his youtube videos. I received a notification that there was a restock and boom! I was able to check out painlessly. PS5 is a beast of a machine. It's BIG and it looks futuristic. The controllers are completely redesigned and it not like the "rumble packs" of the past. The feedback you get is immediate and depending on what's happening on the screen, you get a different sensation. the R1 and R2 trigger weight will vary depending on what you're doing. Sometimes the pressure is light and other times you can feel the resistance. Ratchet and Clank drift apart really shows the graphical performance power of the PS5.

Purchased both the Series X and PS5 at launch, and while the X feels like an upgrade, the PS5 actually FEELS next gen. Love the new controller, and although the system is huge, it looks nice in vertical position. If you see it in stock, buy it!

    Storage hurts This AMAZING Console

First off the packaging for the amount of money being paid is cheap. The outside sleeve is so flimsy if you are too aggressive with it will rip, so if you plan on reselling the console just be careful. That one reason why I give it 4 stars instead of 5. The other reason is the storage is so pitiful I basically paid for a 500gb console the storage you get out the box is 667gb playable from the 825gb advertised. Now I have heard and seen from other people that trying to transfer over and use PS4 games from the extended storage will brick your console, so just wait until Sony comes with a patch to fix that issue before you use the extended storage PS4 games. Transfer all your PS4 content via ethernet cable is the way to go because if you choose to go the wifi route good luck because it will take about 20hrs depending on your internet speeds. The ethernet cable is soooo much faster and easier to do. Now that all that is out the way I freaking love this console, it is soooo quiet, everything is an upgrade except the storage but someday you will be able to expand that on your own because Sony made that easy to access. The UI is going to take some time to get used to but I like it but I also liked the PS4 UI too. It is a learning curve. The DualSense controller is amazing and I can't wait for developers to fully implement that technology into its games, it seriously is a game changer. This console is huge I mean massive so make plenty of space for it. I couldn't get it in my entertainment center vertically so I had to put it on top with the tv and soundbar. I really hope everyone who wants one or is actively trying to get one is able to at some point because scalpers are garbage and I really feel bad for those who are having a hard time getting one. Also I know and recognize the Pandemic has changed the way we buy these consoles but Sony and Microsoft really dropped the ball on how to properly and safely getting these consoles in the hands of consumers. Every game launch is hectic but this was so ridiculous on so many levels and the bots/scalpers/scammers just ruined the experience for alot of people and shame on BOTH companies for allowing it. But the console is AWESOME and like I said in the beginning 4 stars instead of 5 for those issues above. I highly recommend it but maybe wait because I know the issues have to be ironed out first and plus they are going to drop a console in a few years with more storage and slimmer, Mark my words.

This console adds so much to my theater setup, it is effectively the center piece of my tv stand. It is fast, and most of all fun to play. The only downside is the storage capacity, at 825GB, less than that usable, you will definitely need extra storage

King of consoles, the SSD makes this thing load games blazingly quick, and everything runs smooth and looks fantastic. I'd suggest getting an additional SSD for storage. The built-in store fills up pretty fast.

I’ve only played two PS5 games so far (Astros Playroom which is the “default” game to get you familiar with everything the controller can do, and Demon’s Souls). But man, are they amazing. The graphics and sound are both incredible. And the various types of interactions you can have with the controller are really fun and I’m excited to see how game developers will be able to build around these capabilities going forward. I was pleased with how easy it was to move over my games from PS4 as well. The setup guide walked me through everything and I was able to be back playing Nioh 2 shortly after getting everything set up. Overall the upgrade process was seamless, the graphics and sound are amazing, and the controller has a bright future. If you can get one I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

SSD makes a huge difference. I used to wait minutes to load a portion of the game and now it's just seconds. While the jump in graphics is not much, it is a very powerful machine. I can't wait for new games to come out in 2021.

Great console! Really enjoy the upgraded graphics and speeds of next gen. Games load faster and the 60 fps boost makes it hard to ever go back to last gen. The dual sense controller is very unique in its vibrations too!
