Well being an older gamer and seeing the leaps in generations of consoles the Ps5 is awesome. I have Ps4 Xbox and I honestly say that this system will be the one to have. The ssd does make a difference but if you have a huge library of games for the Ps4 be careful. First the system will load certain data onto the system for Ps4 games and it counts towards the internal storage. And updating and downloading games will eat your data on your isp provider. I’m considering getting unlimited data because of how much data is used to download updates and so forth. The controller is different but feels good in you hands. But once the internal storage gets rectified for which ones you can use and games start coming out the system will be perfect.

    The Controller Makes the Difference

Very well designed console. The digital version has a more aesthetically appeasing design, and I recommend this over the standard version. The 100 dollar price cut is a selling point, and the lack of a disk drive actually future proofs it because as systems age over time, quite often the disk drive is the first to have issues. People say that downloading games from the PS Store is expensive, but a new game on day 1 release costs the same no matter what, and the PS Store is having sales every day, lowering the price of games. The real spotlight is how good the DualSense controller is. This is the most innovative controller to come out since the Nintendo 64 controller. If utilized well, it can completely change how you play. Overall a good system.

So far so good! Sony has some minor kinks to work out. But the blazing fast SSD loading is no joke. Games that are promised to run at 60/120 fps are locked in and I don't really see frame drops. The Dualsense truly is a next-gen controller. The haptic rumble and adaptive triggers are a consideration when I want to play a game on PS5 or my 3090 PC build (that says something). I do have a personal gripe that I'm not a fan of the PS5 UI. It's not as simple and comprehensive as the PS4 UI in terms of navigation, and it feels like you're using a mobile device. This doesn't change my overall rating however since this is a personal issue and others may not feel the same about it. I can't wait to see this amazing console and what it can do in the future.

Blew my mind! Controller feels amazing in hand and the adaptive trigger response is so cool! Graphics and performance is almost as good as having the 3000 series graphics card. Truly an amazing console experience!

I'm very happy with this system. The games I've played so far have looked amazing, and there's no doubt in my mind that Sony's studios are going to release some great games in the coming months and years. With that being said, the system is by no means perfect. Pros: -As I said before, games look great on this system. It's amazing how I'm able to purchase a system comparable to my current gaming PC for a mere $499, though I suppose that's how the razor and blades business model usually works. -The DualSense controller is the nicest controller I've ever used, hands down. I wouldn't have complained if Sony just shipped out an updated DualShock 4 with USB-C connectivity for this console, but Sony managed to create something much better. This controller has an even nicer shape than the DS4, a microphone integrated into it, nicer analog sticks, and haptic devices within the controller's triggers. -Sony has finally made a system that's backwards compatible with the previous console generation. They haven't done this since the fat PS3. Cons: -The firmware for the system's network card doesn't seem to work that well. While the PS5 technically supports 5 GHz networking, I've found that it's incredibly buggy. My PlayStation's network card shuts off entirely after using a 5 GHz connection for too long, forcing me to restart my system. -The controller's built in mic is virtually unusable without headphones, as it seems like you can't switch the chat output device to your TV's speakers if you're using it. You're forced to instead use your controller's speaker as a chat output device, and the DualSense's speaker is awful. -The PS5's hardware is a little worse than the Xbox Series X's, though I don't really consider this an issue. You're buying a gaming console for all the wrong reasons if all you care about is top of the line hardware. A gaming PC will always come out victorious in this battle. The games are what really matter, and Microsoft's game studios release a good game once in a blue moon.

The PS5 is a great system. It is powerful and like being able to continue to play my PS4 library on it. I love the controller and the haptic feedback. Overall I would recommend if you are able to get one

Best next generation console amazing graphics and fast loading no more waiting for a game to load. I go so lucky getting from Best Buy bc I couldn’t get one from nowhere. Best Buy said that on November 22 they were going live for the ps5 but no set time and at 4:45 am they did and I was able to add on in my cart and they hold it for 15 min until I fill up all my information (not like Walmart that u would add the ps5 to your cart and fill everything out and by the time you placing the order somebody else with a bot gets it and you get nothing happened to me 3 times with Walmart). It was supposed to arrive November 28 but I got lucky and got it 3 days early November 25. All I had to do was pull up with my car and get curbside pick up

Super good performance and graphics. If you can get one at a reasonable price. But this console is also honkin huge, and sticks out like a sore thumb in my living room, not in a way I like.

One of the lucky ones to get one. The goods would be the games look great from a graphical standpoint, The controller feels and looks good and the system is massive but very quiet i played for over 15 hours total in 2 days and no massive heat, No noises very quiet The Bad- The stand thing. I feel the best way to place your PS5 is standing on the stand which i don't like so its flat which you still need that stand to maintain the balance if you press down on it it still wobbles around I also don't like the lack of games on launch and if you are playing Spiderman there is reports of PS5's bricking do not leave your PS5 on sleep mode as you have the game Spiderman on its causing people's PS5's to brick shut the game down then shut off the console

Took 4 months to finally get one but it’s definitely worth it. Graphics are great and SSD is super fast. It’s pretty big so you’ll have to make room for it. Highly recommended if you can find them in stock.

Great gaming system, huge step up from the PS4 when it comes to performance. Storage is lacking, with how big games are now a days. Nice to see an m.2 SSD slot to expand storage.

All the one star reviews are people who couldn’t get it (clown emoji) lol anyways, it’s a great console, no pc by any means but a big upgrade in loading speeds. Other than that, I don’t really notice any improvement in most games, it looks like I was playing on a PS4. That’s due to most games being not optimized. So who ever didn’t get one, you’re not missing out on anything. Games still run at 30fps for like gta 5, or 60fps for fork knife and apex. I’m more of an apex player and it looks the same as in my PS4. Hopefully they’ll optimize it for 120fps. People would probably say, you can’t play it at 120fps but I play on a 1080p 144hz 1ms response time monitor. The controller is great but the battery doesn’t last as long as I hoped it would.

Whoever thought of using an Solid State Drive in a gaming system better have got a bonus cause that's the difference right now loading time. On my PS4 the loading time for Last of Us Part 2 was over 2 minutes but now that time is cut significantly. Make sure your TV and sound system is up to date because that helps you get the most out of this powerful and fast console. Only downside is the size of the SSD, but now that you can upgrade you don't have to consistently spend time deleting and adding games to the hub.

Absolutely love it, I managed to get lucky and score a pre-order back in September. Received it a day late due to weather conditions in my city. The entire experience is premium, the controller works and feels incredible. I’m in love with the adaptive triggers for games such as CoD: Cold War and NBA 2k21 Next Gen. The interface is sleek and modern compared to the previous console, Playstation 4. The console is on the heavy side of the weight spectrum but the design still gives it a sleek look. I haven’t had any firmware or hardware issues so far which is pretty good, no over-heating or anything of that sort. Everything works smoothly and as fast as it’s supposed to. Very happy with my purchase would buy another if there was more stock.

Rare rollout! I got super lucky - thanks, BestBuy! Excellent console, well designed hardware, easy setup - SONY crushed everything, well done. Smooth, no crashes, love the rechargeable controllers, if only the charge stand wasn't sold out. Cons would be large console unit size and awkward horizontal orientation stability, at least one title (non-SONY) that was rated E wont run full featured on a child account. So I would say that the family controls are not as robust/refined as they might be.

Amazing console release by Sony where in my opinion has the better diverse exclusives than other gaming consoles. Def a step up from the ps4 and a step up in the speed department when loading different applications....it is a very large console and isn’t aesthetically pleasing. Also just a suggestion, I would say go with the disc console if you can get your hands on one, you never realize how bad you miss the disc drive to play physical media until it’s gone. The digital console is cheaper but if you have a pretty extensive dvd/Blu-ray collection then this is not the console you want(plus it seems physical disc games for the ps5 go on sale a lot faster than the digital offerings from Sony and other businesses
