I’m so happy I was finally able to get my hands on the PS5! The graphics are stunning, delay is practically nonexistent, and the controller fits so smoothly into my hands. I would definitely recommend and it was well worth the wait!

    Smooth pre-order process

The whole pre-order purchasing process went very smoothly! I pre-ordered this PS5 the day it came out 3 months ago. Bestbuy sent me confirmation texts once my purchase was confirmed, and let me know as it got closer to the release date when they were going to charge my card and how the pickup process would go, and also offered a scheduled curbside pick up time if i wanted. I opted to go in store to pick it up and assumed I’d be waiting in line for a while, but to my surprise, there were no lines at all! I just had to show my ID and confirmation number and the sales associate handed it right over to me. I was in and out in about 1 minute. And my boyfriend was also super surprised at his early christmas present! The PS5 main Home Screen is way more streamlined and easier to navigate than the PS4, and graphics are incredible! Only downside I’ve noticed so far is that it does not have the HBO MAX app, which i use a lot on the ps4, aside from that it’s great!

I absolutely love my PS5. The graphics and game play are great. I can’t wait to see what new games come in the future. Not a lot of games yet and not a lot of space. You will definitely have to invest in an internal hard drive with heat sync.

I really don't have the time to play much, but it's a good system. It is huge, kind of heavy, but a beautiful machine. The new interface takes some getting used. The games are beautiful, but take up a lot of memory. You will definitely need to upgrade your hard drive or get an external hard drive. Memory is full already, probably only have like 8-10 games installed. I usually wait to get the new Playstation, I never get it early, but took the plunge this time. If you are a Playstation person, you will like it. It's probably best to wait until they make a slim version, with more storage, and more games are available.

Great next gen console. Even though I would choose the other console this is a great buy! Great quality and product. The only thing is the console itself is a lot bigger than I would have expected. Great buy though if you can get your hands on one.

Great system - performance and noise levels are fantastic, but I would recommend paying the extra $100 for the standard edition with a disc drive. With most PS5 games costing $70 now, you'll save quite a bit buying physical used copies of games!

The ps5 is really a true next gen console. Definitely so much faster compare to the PS4 pro. The ssd that the ps5 has does live up to it’s really fast speeds. If you have not gotten one you’ll be extremely happy once you get it. My blessings toward you getting one.

I am going to write this review as a gamer not a fanboy, as I own a gaming pc, PlayStation, xbox, and a switch. I came from a PS4 pro. I will have to say that the graphics are a step up but not sure if it is enough to justify the price at the moment but that should improve when it has been longer after release. The frame rates are improved and game play is smoother on most games. The downloads and the load time for games are also improved and the system UI is also smoother. Now for the negative the PS5 to me is ugly I don't like the way it is shaped and I also don't care for the white color even though i have read they are supposed to release face plates so you can change the color. I did not take any stars away for this as this is a matter a preference not performance. The hard drive is one strong part and that's what makes it faster but it is also a week point. It was advertised at release as having one terabyte but once you get it hooked up and downloaded it is around 667 gigabytes of useable storage. With some modern games taking up to 100 gigabytes or more that's not many games you can store at one time. I think they should have either used a larger hard drive as a two terabyte does not cost a dramatic difference over a one terabyte or even better they should have added a second smaller hard drive for the system. Yes i know you add upgraded storage but the extended storage is very expensive at this time. Another reason why I took a star away is because of the release. First of all I was ready to be at home on my computer when it was supposed to release well all these stores decided they would move the release up to the night before so I missed that window. Second is the scalpers and bots these were selling out when they came back in stock in some cases seconds. I think the stores selling them and Sony should do more to combat this. I have probably spent more then ten hours on line sitting in ques trying to get a PS5, it was the end of January before I was able to get one and I was lucky to get it then as there are still selling out fast and they are hard to find.

PS4 vs PS5, it is night and day difference. The new console is much faster, system menus are always fast to load. The load times into games are very fast, especially games designed for ps5(Demon Souls). If you are able to find one, is a proper step up from previous generation.

Was lucky to log in and click on buy, then boom I got one, so far so good with the PS5 , I word of caution, This thing is a bit bigger that the PS4 and will take up some room , no matter if you stand it or lay it flat. excited for the future capacity of this system!

i love my PS5, I've been a playstation fanboy since the original playstation in the 90s. Some people grew up with Nintendo, I grew up with Atari then Sega and then Playstation. I haven't had any issues at all (knock on wood) and playing Assassins Creed: Valhalla looks amazing.

TL;DR: if you can get one, it's worth it! I have the PS5 for some time now and the first game I played with it is Spider Man: Miles Morales and with Ray Tracing ON, the game is just gorgeous. I'm used to 30 fps gaming and it was fine. The 2nd game, which I'm currently playing is Ghost of Tsushima. It runs at locked 60fps and it's definitely good. The action is so much more fluid. As for the console itself, it's bigger than I imagined. It would fit where my PS4 PRO was but I decided to just put it on top of my living room pc instead. They're both white and it works. 4k blu ray playback is also nice and since I have CRV enabled, I can just use my TV remote to control the movie playback. For build quality, it definitely feels premium and there's some heft to it. The fans aren't that loud for me. What's loud though is the disc spinning when you're playing disc games but otherwise it's OK and you'll get used it once you're immersed in gaming.

Fantastic console! Major graphic and speed update from the PS4. I love the disc version, as I'm not tethered to PSN inflated prices. PSN Store removed Cyberpunk for the PSN store... it is incredible on the PS5, but if you have the digital version you wouldn't be able to play.

I haven’t owned a PlayStation since the PS2. I have been an XBOX player since the Xbox 360 launched. I have a series X that is my main console. I have the Elite series 2 controller to go with it. I recently got this PS5 to play Gran turismo on it since it’s my favorite franchise of all time. After only a few days, I’m blown away at what this console can do. For some reason the images look a little more clear than the Xbox. I have an LG oled C1 that these two consoles are connected to. I had mentioned the Elite controller because I thought it was the coolest most advanced controller. That was until I used this PS5 controller. Holy cow was I blown away. Words don’t explain how awesome the controller is. That’s all I’ll say. Console is awesome and I am extremely lucky to have one in my possession. I love it.

Love the new interface and how fast everything loads! The controller feels new and exciting, but besides that, it is VERY bulky and there’s not many games out right now. The ability to play ps4 games is a huge plus, and even improves some of them. Very happy with it.

The chaos of the purchasing experience due to the scalping and shortages made getting this very hard. it took me nearly a year of watching twitter bots and signing up for email notifications and browsing forums for expected drop dates. Now that I have it I have to say it's pretty good. the controller especially is one of the best I've ever felt or used. the adaptive trigger technology is the future for character action games, FPS games and fighting games. I have no doubt that console gaming still has more to innovate in that regard. Console experience is to be expected. new and flashy, but limited due to it's youth. no themes or backgrounds, navigation is alien to me. but it is snappy, loading times are nearly extinct. the impressive io included on the front and back means I can charge my phone and other controllers from one system.

Purchased this unit for my brother. Nice and sleek, the PS5 digital edition is just as good as the physical version (except no disk of course). I enjoy the look of this one more, it is more symmetrical. Great system, just need an OLED tv now to truly compliment it..

We haven’t opened this yet as my son will be getting it for Christmas but we’re excited to try out this new console and see the improved graphics that PlayStation has claimed. Although I’m not a huge fan of the bulky size, I’m hoping it’s performance out weighs this downfall.

This thing is an absolute BEAST. Best thing about it is it's QUIET, even under full load in Warzone. I am genuinely surprised given my PS4 was a literal jet engine. Also, the haptic feedback mechanism in the controller is a game changer - adds to the immersion.
