The load times and download speeds are amazing. The games look great and once they fixed the disk spinning issue the console itself is pretty quiet in a living room. That being said, the console is a bit chunky. Not always a bad thing because it allows the heatsink to absorb more heat and keep the internals cooler, but I wish they had made it a little smaller. On the performance side of things, the console does well 95% of the time. Every once in a while I get errors like the console not sending a signal to the TV but the white light is on. When I first booted the console it froze and I had to hard power off and unplug. That was day 1, however, and it has not happened since. There are some weird HDR issues, but those may be because of the Vizio TV I have, so I wouldn't worry about HDR support. Waiting for the NVMe PCIe 4.0 support has been a bit of a bust, but some of the new PS5 games are more efficiently compressed and take up much less space than PS4 games. Overall, the PS5 is a worthy successor to the PS4 albeit hard to find

Either way all games install onto the console and discs are just license checks. You're going to need to buy more storage so why not save $100 on the console and spend it on storage.
