The PlayStation 5 is an excellent system, though there are a few early launch bugs. If you're okay with dealing with a few hiccups, namely game crashes; then the PS5 is a great system to pick up if you can get your hands on one. However, with a general lack of exclusive software to support the system right now, waiting a bit for stock shortages to catch up is perfectly fine; especially since a lot of the launch hiccups will likely be addressed by then. For the time being, most PS5 games are still being released on PS4, with many supporting free upgrades to PS5 - so there's no harm in just picking those up for PS4 now and waiting until the PS5 is easier to find. A few things of note: the PS5 system is overall much quieter than the PS4 & PS4 Pro, however you should still expect some noise. The 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray Drive definitely makes the most noise, though it won't always be spinning at maximum speed, usually only when copying data from the disc; so it's not an issue. Additionally, the amount of heat the system produces can result in some creaky plastic sounds during use; noises that were mostly masked by fan noise on the PS4 & PS4 Pro. Those noises may sound worrying, but shouldn't affect system performance. Overall, if you can find a PS5 in stock, have at it, you won't be disappointed. But don't panic if you can't; there's plenty of great experiences still to be had on PS4, many of which will upgrade to PS5 for free when you're finally able to get your hands on one.

The PS5 is here (if you can buy one) and it truly feels like a generational leap for console gaming. With its powerful graphics tech and wildly innovative DualSense controller, Sony's new console allows for a level of immersion that simply wasn't possible on previous consoles.

I was lucky enough to pre-order mine and grab it at 7am on launch today. I love the PS5 but I will say unless you're confident that the current games have lots of replay value(I play lots of NBA 2K21), it might not hurt to hold off for a few months. Also it's fast and virtually silent, especially when compared to PS4. Hopefully Sony is able to restock stores. Games are better when more of us can play. Good luck!
