Sadly, this is the best option available. I tried multiple third-party solutions. I found one that was okay, but none are as convenient or as easy to use (in terms of controller insertion) as the official Sony DualSense Charging Station. That's a shame, because as of this writing (April 2021), it's still extremely difficult to find—perhaps even harder to find than the PS5 itself.

Bought the charger because I learned my lesson with my PS4 controllers. I was always switching out the controllers via the charging cable. It was very tedious. With this, I can leave one controller on the charger and won't have to worry about overcharging with its auto shut off charging mechanism. And it works as a good controller holder too. Good price for a great product. Thank You.

I love the ps5 charging station it’s so convent and doesn’t have all those wires I would recommend this to anyone

This just makes sense to buy, not only does it save a USB port on your PlayStation 5 it allows you to charge your controller through an outside source, hopefully extending the life of the console. It's different from the PS4 version but even better because it charges your DualSense on contact, you simply sit it on the contact point, no need to push it down. Definitely a no brainer in my opinion.
