Better then using a card

Good but value could be better

I think the 3 month rate is still too high but comparably much better. The games you get with PSN are vastly inferior to the free games offered through Xbox live. PSN has mostly cheap indie games. This also hurts the content to price ratio. Still, this is the best way to get PSN if you want less that a year.

More for playing online than anything else

As for the other 'perks' I really don't see much gain there. The free games for members really don't interest me and the discounts are usually only a few dollars off. Its nice that only one account needs a membership for all the accounts on the system to play online however.
