While we're glad you like most of the features, we regret to learn about the rattling issue you are experiencing with your Sony SA-SW5. This is definitely not the news we want to hear. Various reasons can cause noise interference to the sound from the subwoofer. To resolve this issue, please follow the troubleshooting steps below:
1. If there is a device nearby that generates electromagnetic waves, such as a wireless LAN or a microwave oven in use, locate the subwoofer and a compatible model apart from it.
2. If there is an obstacle between the subwoofer and a compatible model, move or remove it.
3. Locate the subwoofer and a compatible model as close as possible.
4. Change the [RF Channel] setting to [Off], and then change to [On] again.
5. Switch the network connection of the TV or Blu-ray Disc player from wireless to wired.
6. Change the [Wireless Playback Quality] setting to [Priority on Stable Connection].
7. Reset the speaker system.

I bought this as an open box, was supose to be in excllent condition. It wasn't and very poorly packaged for shippmnet.

Best Buy does not appreciate their customers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seems to be a Best Buy issue... I reported something similar with my sub and the Bravia Theatre 9 bar. Sub connected once then lost connection the next day. Best Buy basically told me it wasn't their problem after 15 days of purchase unless I had their monthly service plan. Seems like a scam at this point where as other companies would honor their customers after spensing thousands of dollars. Best Buy told me to go through Sony, which I already have... I'd rather give my money to Amazon next time than spend a dime at Best Buy. When the sub connected it sounded awesome! Will continue to work with Sony Customer service.

It does add some bass back that sounded lacking from the hta9 system, but it feels like it doesn’t add enough (even when fully maxed out).

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This Subwoofer, which is designed for the a7000 Sony Soundbar, is one of the best subwoofers I have ever own, not only visually but great bass performer as well. Many of my previous subwoofer, produces tiny little “flaws” at certain moment with some movies. On this one I didn’t notice any flaw at all, only pure and neat bass. It is rated 300watts, and definitely it got all that power. On top of my previous Subwoofer I had a couple of ornaments, that were part of my home decoration, when I move them to the top of this Sub, I made the mistake to turn up the volume to the maximum, and the ornaments jumped to the floor. As well as the rest of the team (the A7000 and rear speakers), this unit comes with pluggable power cord. For me it was something that I have been waiting for a long time. My wife is an extreme cleaner, mopping and sweeping all the time and every time I have to move my old sub, it was a headache trying to find the Power outlet, which was unreachable and then to disconnect it and reconnect it back again. Now it is easy, just disconnect the power cord from the unit. You can get 12 levels of Bass, very neat, I have a couple of songs that I always use a way for measurement, Royals by Lord, Come Together by The Beatles. Not all the subs can perform the bass really well at the maximum volume with these songs, but this one pass by far my test. But when I put Movies like Avengers End Game, or Star wars, the battles couldn’t sound more realistic with the bass that this sub produce. The design is very elegant, even if its size is big it looks nice in my living room. The sides are round not only for cosmetic reasons but because Sony found out that it is best for sound performance and they are covered in a kind of leather material that feels soft and high quality. It match perfectly with the look of the a7000 soundbar, keeping the visual harmony of the whole team The setup is simple, once you go through the onscreen setup in the A7000, you select add wireless speakers, run again the Sound optimization Tool that ins part of the A7000 setup and in few second it will be ready to rock Red light indicates that a speaker is power off or standby mode. Green light indicates that it is power on and connected to the soundbar. This is a high end premium quality subwoofer, that you definitely will appreciate. And the perfect match, esthetically and great bass performer for the A7000 Soundbar.

Nice when it worked…

For me, it worked well initially but I started having issues a week after normal use. I battled connection issues and even had the subwoofer present rattling and cracking sounds. May have just been a faulty unit but I wasn’t impressed. Personally, I love Sony tvs and the only thing this did well is connect super fast on setup but then stopped working a week later. I recommend going with something else. This doesn’t come close to the bass module 700 from Bose. I’d start there.
