Sony subwoofer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sub should be bigger. It's a 8 inch subwoofer and it needs a lot more bass and power. I have a 12inch Polk subwoofer in my family room and it has a lot more bass and power.

Posted .Hi Tvareus,
While we're glad you like most of the features, we're sorry to hear about the rattling issue you're having with your Sony SA-SW5. This is definitely not the news we want to hear. Various reasons can cause noise interference to the sound from the subwoofer.
To resolve this issue, please follow the troubleshooting steps below:
1. If there is a device nearby that generates electromagnetic waves, such as a wireless LAN or a microwave oven in use, locate the subwoofer and a compatible model apart from it.
2. If there is an obstacle between the subwoofer and a compatible model, move or remove it.
3. Locate the subwoofer and a compatible model as close as possible.
4. Change the [RF Channel] setting to [Off], and then change to [On] again.
5. Switch the network connection of the TV or Blu-ray Disc player from wireless to wired.
6. Change the [Wireless Playback Quality] setting to [Connection].
Reset the speaker system.
If you are unable to resolve your concern, the described symptom may require further troubleshooting. In this case, please email us at socialsupport@am.sony.com with the following details:

What bass?
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shocked to see so many high reviews for this sub. Paired with the Bar 9, this sub is lackluster at best. To get any sound out of it, the level needed to be close to or maxed out. Placed on a hardwood floor, this thing rattles from the passive radiator but still does not equate to the thump that one would expect from music or movies. I've tried moving this unit around my living room, including the same spot where my existing sub was. A bit disappointing that a box this size produces such little bass.

Posted .Hi Anthony,
We regret to learn about the rattling issue you are experiencing with your Sony SA-SW5 and the bass sound didn't live up to your expectations. Please allow us to help you and turn this into a better experience. To ensure that you are getting the most out of your BRAVIA Theater Bar 9, make sure to run Sound Field Optimization so that the soundbar can calibrate its performance to your environment, and that it sounds like it was engineered to be in your room.
For the bass sound quality, this usually depends on the size of the listening room, and the location that the subwoofer is placed in the room. To enhance your overall bass sound listening experience, follow the steps below:
• Press SW volume + or BASS + on the remote control of a compatible model to increase the subwoofer volume.
• Set the night mode to off. For details, refer to the Operating Instructions supplied with a compatible model.
• If the input sources contain very little bass sound components (i.e., a TV broadcast), the sound from the subwoofer may be difficult to hear. You can check the subwoofer sound by emitting the test tone.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seriously. A pile of $$ would sound as great as this does once the soundbar fails to connect to your Bravia app for no reason. This sub does nothing because their soundbar routinely does nothing. There is no way to tune the sub without their Bravia app. The app doesn’t work 90% of the time.

Comparing with Sonos and Bose
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Compared to Sonos Arc and Bose this one performed low both on its sound quality and clarity. The Sony subwoofer doesn’t have bass when compared to sonos and Bose. Tested it connecting to a Sony OLED tv as well as Bluetooth Spotify from iPhone. This one needs a lot of improvement.
