Good sub for the size.

I can't imagine the system without it. The bass is not accurate and a little boomy for my taste but it's not harsh if that makes any sense. It complements the HT-A9 well. I have it set to volume 6, which seems to pair well with my layout. Any higher and it gets boomy. It looks nice and at least it comes in black unlike the HT-A9, just wish for a bit more accuracy in the bass department. Btw, if you want to reduce some of the boominess place them on a sound absorber for a bit more accuracy.

Open box items are always a good value here

This is a great subwoofer and it pairs perfectly to the Sony sound bar and rear speakers. If I did have a complaint it's that I had to manually pair the sub.

It expands the sound stage dramatically compared to relying on the subwoofer base. I originally got the SW3 and ended up returning it because it did not sound good at all. You will be much happier spending the extra money for the SW5.

The previous came with the subwoofer, i can see why this one is sold seperatwly. Thunderous bass explodes from this fairly small box! I especially enjoy it while listening to tracks as it reproduces low ends very well for a wireless sub. Great pirchase!

Must Subwoofer for the Sony Theatre Quad

It's subtle and punchy when it needs to be. Way too expensive though. My old 400W Klipsch was bigger and better and half the price. But still, for the sound experience? Get it.
