Round is the sound

It’s good, but for $700 I expect much more low end. This sub leans more on the side of boom then it does slap. If the HT-A9 let you EQ it, it would have made this purchase totally worth it.

Not as good as it should be for the price.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the SA-SW5 along with the HT-A7000 sound bar and SA-RS5 speakers. Sadly the SA-SW5 is my least favorite part of the purchase. The sound bar and speakers are awesome. However the SA-SW5 subwoofer is underwhelming in my 15’X18’ room. I have a Sony SA-CS9 sub that cost half as much money but produces more deep couch vibrating and tight sound than the SA-SW5. Turning the sub volume up does not help and actually makes it worse causing some intermittent rattling. Too bad Sony doesn’t have a sub out jack on the HT-A7000 sound bar. I would expect a lot more from a sub with a MSRP price of $700.

Wireless transmission issues that result in no sound from the subwoofer are generally caused by connection or interference issues. The power indicator on the subwoofer is a good starting point for troubleshooting. As a workaround, check the steps from the link below to isolate and help resolve this issue.

Wish I bought the Sonos, which demoed much better in the store but was advised by sales rep to go with Sony for integration and easy of use. I’m regretting this decision.

Please allow us to help you and turn this into a better experience. If there is noise, static, crackling, or audio distortion, please follow these steps to resolve the issue.
If there is a device nearby that generates electromagnetic waves, such as a wireless LAN or a microwave oven in use, locate the subwoofer and a compatible model apart from it.
If there is an obstacle between the subwoofer and a compatible model, move or remove it.
Locate the subwoofer and a compatible model as close as possible.
Change the [RF Channel] setting to [Off], and then change to [On] again.
Switch the network connection of the TV or Blu-ray Disc player from wireless to wired.
Change the [Wireless Playback Quality] setting to [Connection].

Distorted sound for the second time...

Intermittent disconnect even with line of site close proximity to the hub. I'm not an audiophile by any means, but for the price of these, they should sound near flawless and not a hint of distortion. These are my second pair as the first pair had distortion issues as well. BB was good enough to return the first pair.
