Excellent Sound and Comfort
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These Sony headphones are great. I would even say they’re comparable to another high dollar/high end brand that I currently own. I make (GarageBand) and listen to music everyday so I’m a harsh judge on headphones. They have wonderful sound, and I was able to pair them in less than 10 seconds. The bass and treble is perfectly balanced. I use an equalizer with my other pairs of headphones, but with these, I don’t need one. It comes with a charger and four different sizes of ear buds, for tiny and big ears. The ear buds fit snug, and they are very soft and comfortable. Also, these headphones have a long battery life; I’ve been listening to them for a while and the battery indicator hasn’t moved. If you want great sound quality and a comfortable pair, I would highly recommend these headphones.

Absolutely Worthless
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, the sound is good. Second, the weight of the control unit on one side pulls it out of your ear ALL THE TIME making them useless (yes, I tried different size ear inserts.) Lastly, the noise cancelling is mediocre at best. I own a pair of JVC in-ear headphones that are MUCH better, but still don't compare to the Bose series that I have. Do NOT buy these!

Phenomenal Sound, But...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones have phenomenal sound. Especially when using the Sony Headphones App and setting the EQ to "Excited". Powerful bass, nice mids, and bright (but not overly bright) highs. Add noise canceling to this, and wow! These also play louder than my other earbuds at the same volume settings. The "quick settings" available through the app are a huge plus. I have mine setup for "speech" with noise canceling on. This comes in handy when I want to listen to podcasts. Simply double tap the NC button, and bang, "quick settings" are active. When going back to music, another double tap of the NC buttong and I'm back to normal mode, which for me is EQ = Excited + NC on. Battery life was decent at just about 6 hours per charge. The reason I rated them a 3* is the control unit is overly bulky and constantly pulling on the left ear, and pulling the wires to the left. I found myself constantly pushing the left earbud back into my ear and readjusting the wire because they would start pulling on the right earbud. They would of been much better off splitting up the controller between both sides. You might be ok if you're not going to be doing anything active, but I found simply walking around my house doing chores caused a lot of issues. I can't imagine running or exercising being any better. They take too much work to keep them in your ear. Simply not enjoyable.

Sony SP600N

Terrible Battery Life
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wanted some noise cancelling headphones (bluetooth) before a recent trip overseas. Reading reviews these were pretty high rated and the price was great. She barely made it through one movie on the plane before the battery died. I have Bose and they lasted both trips watching 3-4 movies on one charge. Do not expect greatness with these.

Great headphones

Other headphones weren't loud enough and they kept falling out. These are a perfect option. They stay in and have great sound output.

Good bass, nice design
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony WI-SP600N Full disclosure: A Sony WI-SP600N was give to me in exchange for a timely and honest review. I have used headphones and earbuds of various types and quality levels for over 50 years. My primary set for the past several years has been the Bose QuietComfort 20 noise cancelling earbuds which are not wireless. I chose to try the WI-SP600N as a wireless alternative, since wires can be a pain in some situations. I started by fully charging the battery which takes about 1.5 hours according to the documentation. That seems about right from my experience. I had no trouble pairing the earbuds with my iPhone X. It was very easy and they worked immediately. The rubber ear inserts fit well for me and offered good physical sound isolation. The set came with three other ear inserts which was a little puzzling. I’m accustomed to receiving small, medium and large sets with earbuds. Two looked like the smaller size, but the single third looked a bit larger, so perhaps one was missing. Either that or it was a direct replacement for the size that came installed on the earbuds. I checked out the app for controlling the earbuds and read the reviews, then I downloaded it. Sony offers both Android and iOS versions of the app (I used the iOS version). The app allows us to control the behavior of the earbuds. The app seemed to have some low reviews, but I found it worked just fine and does what it needs to do. It is nice to have options for noise cancelling and audio style. The noise cancelling modes are: “Noise Cancelling” or “Ambient” with “Normal” and “Voice” as sub-options on the ambient setting. I tested the noise cancellation next to my kitchen sink. I turned the water on, listened and then cycled through the noise cancellation modes. Noise with the 600s in cancellation mode, was reduced, but not eliminated. When I did the same test with my Bose earbuds, noticeably more noise was cancelled. I could hear a reduced level of splashing in the sink in both cases, but with the 600s I could still hear the water going down the drain whereas the Bose earbuds managed to make that particular sound imperceptible. Perhaps being wired, the Bose set can dedicate more compute power to the task. There are ten settings for the frequency equalizer, counting “off” as a setting. So we can choose various acoustic profiles for the various types of audio and our personal preferences. Lots of base, lots of treble, voice optimized, and several others. The difference was obvious as I went through the options. Again, I did side by side tests. The 600s offer far more options and stronger base than my Bose earbuds, but my Bose earbuds offered a cleaner/clearer and seemingly broad range of sound. Personal preference will matter here. The physical buttons on the side are intuitive and wisely designed with different sizes and shapes to see them easier to discern by touch alone. Kudos to the designers here. With the earbuds in my ears, pressing the power button for a few seconds turned on the power and a voice reported the “Power On” and then “Bluetooth Connected”. Once on, if you press the power button briefly, a voice will report the battery level. Press it a bit longer and the voice will say “power off” and the set will power down. I won’t replace my Bose earbuds for travel. IMHO the audio is significantly better on my Bose earbuds, for my personal taste and listening preferences. Since the Bose earbuds are 60% more expensive, that seems reasonable. However, there will be times when I will want wireless earbuds and I will happily use the WI-SP600s on those occasions. I gave the product four stars because I have clearly been spoiled by the incredible audio clarity and superior noise cancellation of my current earbuds. It may be unfair due to the price difference. I believe Sony offers another model up from the 600, so the audio performance may be exactly what one should expect for this model in their lineup. Overall, I think the WI-SP600N is a good head set. If you like base, these have plenty of it...more than I would have expected for wireless earbuds and I like having the tether between the two earbuds so I will have less chance of losing them. I would recommend this to someone looking for wireless sports earbuds at this price point.

Great sound, comfortable fit, Sony quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Headphones have three primary must haves for me and that is quality build, quality sound and a comfortable fit. Sony does a great job on all three counts with these headphones. The headphones fit securly so they are a great option for sports and other activities; in addition to offering splash and sweat resistance. The Sony app offers user controls to modify the sound mode, including extra bass if desired. Hand controls are easy to use and easily accessible. One area for improvement would be to include a case with the headphones for travel and gym use. In summary, we are more than satisfied with this Sony product just like the many others we have counted on for great quality and performance.

Noise cancelling sport earphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony SP-600N Noise cancelling headphones are a great pair of wireless sports headphones that fit well and are extremely lightweight. Being in ear headphones the noise cancellation can be hit or miss on quality depending on the surrounding ambient noise. But with that being said these really are a very good pair of sports wireless Bluetooth headphones. They are incredibly lightweight and once seated properly in your ears are nearly impossible to come out on their own. The sound quality is top notch with just enough bass to give the music some real feeling. The inline controls are simple to use and pretty much expected nowadays on any Bluetooth headphones. There are several different sized ear plugs and 2 different sizes designed to keep the headphones in your ear. Overall enough sizes for practically anyone with enough mixing and matching to fit your ears.

Good Sound, Noise Canceling ok
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Noise Canceling just doesn't do it. I have been a Sony fan for years and in years past used their in ear noise canceling system exclusively. So I thought I would try their new pair. The canceling system just does not cut it. While walking around streets of Italy I cannot hear any meaningful cancellation of street noise. Sony, what happened? 10 years ago I swore by your systems. Disappointed fan.

Almost outstanding...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are excellent Bluetooth headphones for music. Comfortable to wear, outstanding battery life, and very good noise cancellation make them a great choice for active use or travel. The music is clear and crisp, and the extra bass boost makes the small buds sound balanced and clean. But there's a problem with calls. While I could hear the caller clearly, everyone I spoke with told me I sounded like I was in a gymnasium. This means I can't really wear them when I might be receiving or making a call. And it's too bad, since for music they're as good as you'll find in this price range. If you want a set of buds that will play clear music while blocking outside noise, with a bonus of picking up a call in a pinch, look no further. If you want something that you can use to make and receive clear calls, the WI-SP500 is a better choice.
