The SONY SP600N are among the elite of wireless in-ear-buds. At one time most ear-buds had identical right and left design and basically were a button that kept falling out of your ears when you jogged. The button types are fine if you are lounging or just slowly moving about. These Sony buds are the newest design with the ‘little wings’ on each ear-bud. Each fits it’s own ear and you do get several insert sizes to try so that you can get the perfect fit. These ear-buds were the easiest to insert, the little wing is soft but strong and it tucks somewhat automatically inside your ear so that you now have a solid fit but very comfortable. I jogged around a few miles with no trouble. I do recommend you gently wipe sweat off after a workout, and they are water resistant. You can wear eye-glasses easily and comfortably as well with this design. The ear-buds are very clearly marked right and left. I don’t take that for granted and some buds can irritate you if the markings are too subtle. The sound is one of the best I have found. In addition, you have noise cancelling or you can allow ambient sound in so you can listen to conversations and music at the same time. The controls are very intuitive and of course you have a microphone for cell phone calls. Pairing went super easy both for phone and for my laptop. You can also pair with NFC. I liked that you can adjust the volume easily and you can wear the wire that connects the buds either behind your neck or in front – very well designed. They feel solid but not too heavy. You don’t get an AC charger but you do get the micro-USB to USB cable. I would highly recommend these ear-buds and the price for what you get is excellent.

Mediocre sound quality and dismal noise canceling

Perhaps I expect too much, but these have mediocre sound (at best). I bought for noise canceling and that is a joke on this device. Save your money for a better quality brand. Wish I had.

Would have given it a higher rating but due to low battery issues, it gets a 2 star. The battery holds a charge for about a 1. If listening to music, it is a hit an miss. Not at all happy. Will keep it at home to take calls only.

I bought them for the gym. After using them the first time, I put them back in the box and returned them. Not worth the money. My main complaint was the cord on the side with the controls. Where it sat was awkward and heavy, pulling the cord to one side. Also, the battery life wasnt good, it barely made it 1.5 hours. I forked out a few more bucks and got the Bose sport. Bose never disappoints!

Great Sport-based Headphones with Clunky App

Having tested a bunch of different Sony-based speakers recently, I firmly believe that they've figured out their speaker game. Gone are the days of Sony being a cheap brand that cannot produce quality sound. This is transmitted to their newest sport headphones, with them having good overall sound quality, solid connection, and fine NC. The design is pretty straightforward, and the headphones sit snug in the year. There are three sizes of plugs and two different ear pockets as well. The only drawback to the packaging is that there's no case to hold the headphones in. Considering this is almost a standard, I found it quite shocking. Pairing up the headphones to two different phones was easy, although having to download yet another app to control them with (EQ, Bluetooth quality, etc) gets annoying. I found the app also had some issues which stayed persistent throughout my week with them. As for performance, the headphones sound pretty good, giving a warm tone to most music tracks. The extra bass functionality can be nice, but also can be turned off if not wanted. The only real performance hiccup is the noise canceling feature. It works okay for my tastes, but most of it is ambient noise canceling, so it won't help much with sound on plane rides, etc. Battery can be a bit of an issue as I only found a seven hour average across the week I've had them, but this was with NC on all the time which would drain the battery quicker. That all said, during my runs in 75 degree weather, I never had an issue of comfort, nor did the headphones fall out of my ears. This is key for me and any sport headphones, as I primarily use them for this purpose. Overall, the complete package is a solid offering into sport headphones. The sound and build qualities are great, with no connection issues. NC could be better, along with the application used and battery life, but these are a solid product nonetheless. Recommended.

Solid Product - Audio Quality is Subjective

Overall I am pretty pleased with this system. It checks all the boxes most people would want in a sport headphone system. For the record, I primarily use my mobile device with an android app (G-Mad) for playback. With these ear bud based headphones, and playing back with the equalizer set to 'Flat', the Extra Bass functionality is exceptional and performs as I would expect from Sony. That said - the sound quality aspect of anything audio based is totally subjective and is influenced by variations in the human ear. Although not horrible, I did find these ear phones to be slightly muddied in playback quality compared to another set I will be writing a review for shortly. Again, not horrible - but noticeable to my ears and listening preferences. YMMV ! Pros: This system comes with 4 sets of ear pieces varying in size so finding the perfect fit shouldn't be a problem for most people. I find the smallest size the most comfortable and they stay put even during a lot of activity & motion. Extra Bass functionality is solid! The audio guidance system is great. The controls on the in line module are easy to adapt to once you've used them for a day. In other words - very intuitive. Battery performance is excellent. Cons: The interconnecting wire between the buds and the control unit could be a tad bit longer for those with bigger upper body structures. The Ambient function needs a little tweaking. It works but not as well I had anticipated. The same goes with the noise cancelling - but then again - these aren't structurally designed like the more preeminently available, top-of-the-line models from the leader in the noise cancelling headphone segment. The "B" company. Sound is slightly muddy at times but your mileage (experience) may vary. Not consistently horrible but a little noticeable. That's all. All this said, I would still recommend these to friends, families and just about anyone else. Give 'em a try!
