The Sony SP600N Sports Wireless Noise Canceling headphones are solid Bluetooth earbuds with a single wire connecting each of the buds. Closer to the left earbud is the battery/control block which has the standard buttons for power/pairing, noise canceling mode selection and USB charging input, these are all on the side of the block. Volume, pause/play are on the top of the block. I do like how there are numerous controls on the block (more on that later) so you don’t have to get inventive with multi-press sequences out of just one or two buttons. Initially I had an issue fitting the earbuds in my ear, however I figured out the trick is to insert and twist into each ear slightly, then they become pretty secure. As for the sound, it is clear and crisp, with punchy bass. I really do enjoy how these sound and with a choice of Sony mobile apps (Headphones and Music Center) you can really configure your sound preferences by using the equalizer, adjust noise cancelling mode and even audio track control. There is also a setting within the app to power off the headphones. Overall, I am really enjoying these earbuds, a combination of quality hardware and pretty good mobile apps produce a fine listening experience. The battery life appears to be what is stated at approximately 6 hours. Active noise cancelling built into these earbuds has minimal effect when turned on, much like the experience I had with a pair of Sony totally wire free earbuds, not sufficient to counteract noisy environments like planes, trains or automobiles. Pros: - High quality, true to source sound reproduction - Good companion mobile apps - Multifunction control block Cons: - Control block is large - Noise cancellation is poor

So I have gone to these new style of earbuds with the flexible wings that hold the buds in your ear snugly. I use them while shooting baskets at the gym. I previously used the kind with the hook piece that went over the ear but I think those look very nerdy. These little wings that go on the inside of your ear hold the buds in place just as well as those hooks maybe even better. The only reason I gave them a 4 star is because the cord that goes around your neck is very short and I have a big head. There is not much play in the cord so often if I turn my head quickly I feel the earbud being pulled out of my ear. The sound is awesome. While shooting baskets I turn it to noise canceling and can barely hear myself or others dribbling the ball next to me. When I am out walking my dog with them I turn it to ambient sound and can still get high quality sound but can also hear if others are approaching me on the trail or hear if a car is coming. It's nice to have both features. I like that all the controls are on 1 little bar. Once you learn which button is for what it's easy to navigate between phone calls, volume, and changing songs. Tap the play button twice to move to the next song, 3 times to back one song. Very simple. The Bluetooth connected very easy but when I used them around the house I left my phone in a central place and if i wondered 15 to 20 feet away or went behind a closed door I lost the signal or it cut in and out. Not a big problem, I just have to carry my phone in my pocket while cleaning the house. Overall the sound is excellent i just wish Sony gave an option to lengthen or shorten the neck cord to fit individual comfort.

The Sony SP600 Sports in-ear headphones are top rated in my opinion because of the following: 1) They are amazingly comfortable without a bulky feel. 2) The audio quality is concise and clear—there is no cutting in and out with choppy communications. 3) The battery life is decent. 4) I have not experienced any issues when taking calls from them. 5) The noise canceling mode and ambient sound mode are both powerful as well as accommodating to a user. 6) They are multi-purposed for travel, gym workouts, runs, power walks, to name a few.

    Surprised by the Bass

The first thing I noticed about these headphones was the quality and clarity of the bass. Right out of the package they sounded clear with a deep sound quality. I was actually a little surprised because I have several similar style headphones and it is rare to have this good of sound quality. Also, the volume can sometimes be soft on wireless headphones but the volume on these is as much as needed. Also, the noise cancelation seems to work well but it is hard to tell because with the tight fit in the ear, most of the background noise is already dimmed. Other nice things about these headphones are the app support and the battery size. The battery is stated to last 6 hours. I haven't used them that long without charging but have gotten pretty close. Also, the headphones worked with the Sony app I already had installed on my phone. I went into the music app and clicked on the headphones link. It took me to the headphones app and from there you can apply updates, turn the ambient noise on or off, set the noise canceling, and use an equalizer function to get the sound exactly how you like it. Overall, I like the fit, sound and style of these headphones and would highly recommend them.

With Sony, I've come to expect great sound and some questionable aesthetics. The Sports Wireless Noise Canceling In-Ear Headphones surprised me a bit by providing the full, rich ambiance and a headset that was comfortable, had sensible button-placement, and was usable in both high motion activities (like exercise and biking) and during low action usage (commuting, sitting at a desk). Pairing was simple and the buttons worked well and are positioned nicely on the side, though I prefer the hanging style of these active headsets to the earbud buttons of "true wireless" headsets. The product took some getting used to fitting into my ears, however, and there are only two sets of size options so there isn't much wiggle room. I was able to get used to the smaller size, and over time it rested fairly well inside the ear without much worry about accidental drops or falls. These headphones work very well, and I've grown to find them very comfortable. I've enjoyed the long battery life and the excellent noise cancellation feature. And of course, the sound quality is wonderful. I highly recommend this product. Full disclosure, I received this product for my honest, unbiased review.

These were nice ear buds but they did NOT work for me, most probably because I have a severe hearing loss. Therefore, not a product problem.
