I've reviewed this item before because this is a re-purchase We like these Sony portable speakers a lot - very portable, easy setup, and good sound for the money. You can also pair this with another SRS-XB12. We use one of these as the speaker for an old desktop that has a monitor with no speakers - just needed to get a Bluetooth adapter to connect the speaker. Good buy!

Our family has a few of these in different colors. The SRS-XB12 is a good quality portable speaker that delivers nice sound and does not break the bank. You can also pair this with another SRS-XB12 if you need more sound. We even use one with an old desktop that has a monitor with no speakers - just needed to get a Bluetooth adapter to connect the speaker. Good buy!

Loud, didn't distort and it's truly waterproof. Battery life has been excellent so far.

I had an old-ish Braven bt speaker that died. The sound from the Braven was great, but there were some quirks that bothered me. I bought this Sony because I wanted something inexpensive and something that had an aux jack. My purpose for this device is to listen to music and podcasts from my phone in my home. I wanted the aux jack because, frankly, I get tired of fussing with Bluetooth all the time. So many devices compete for Bluetooth, it gets old. I have a very short (6 inch) male to make headphone cord that I plug into my old Pixel phone and this speaker. Works great, I never have to think about it. It just works. Bluetooth is great, but when you have so many devices that use it as both source and output, it becomes a burden, a chore. Anyway, the sound for this little speaker is fabulous in small, indoor rooms. In large indoor rooms, the sound is meh. I mean, it is OK, but not great. In large rooms music sounds OK, but even at max volume podcasts and news are a little hard to hear, not matter how close you are to the speaker, it never seems loud enough. This is exactly what I expected from such a small speaker, I am not complaining. I mostly use it in small rooms, where it is absolutely perfect. I also appreciate that the buttons are instant. My old Braven speaker (again: great sound!) required you to hold down the power button to turn it on, and then hold it down again for a few seconds to turn it off. Tedious! Instant is better. I like it. I am satisfied. If you want big sound for larger rooms, buy something else. If you care about Bluetooth (which is 99.9% of the people who will read this review), sorry, I have no comment. I haven't connected this speaker to my phone's Bluetooth. iPhone owners can ignore most of what I just said, other than my comments about the sound quality.

cute design, sound is clear and so far have no overloud distortion issues. I also like the little hand sling for carry on . its a little low volume when connect to the computer, need to turn up the volume to above 70% to make it loud enough to hear the rich layer of the sound of voice and music. it support second add on speaker though blue tooth, make me want to buy another identical one. I guess that's the trick to make full sound quality and money value. overall i think 4 star is fair .
