I usually take it on hikes or use it outside when I'm chilling by my fire pit and you can definitely hear the bass even in wide open spaces. No need to get the fancier model with the LEDs unless you're into that sort of thing _-_

It can be loud but the sound distribution isn't equal to all sides so you have to face it where your want the noise to go, if not it will greatly reduced the volume. It is also a bit base lacking for if that's what you're into and as far as I'm concerned there isn't an app where you can customize the equalizer.

I bought a 2nd one. Sound is really great. Also it has a voice mode that tells you the battery charge when you turn it on which I thought was pretty handy.

Very solid speaker

Battery life is OK, but I seem to have to recharge more often than I'd expected. I use it around the house, golf course, etc. I haven't tried the pairing feature yet, but would like to pick up another in the near future to give it a go for a richer sound out by the pool or hanging out on the porch.

Lithium-ion battery life Approx. (please ensure a full charge)
12 hours: Volume level of the unit set to 34, the sound mode set to STAMINA.
10 hours: Volume level of the unit set to 31 and with the factory default settings (sound mode: EXTRA BASS).
3 hours: Volume level of the unit set to maximum and with the factory default settings (sound mode: EXTRA BASS).
As with any battery operated speaker, Actual performance time may vary from the listed time due to the volume, songs played, surrounding temperature, and usage conditions. Lastly, it has also STEREO PAIR feature in which 2 SRS-XB23 speakers are required. By connecting 2 speakers via BLUETOOTH connection, you can enjoy a more powerful sound.

Singing in the Shower!

This is my dedicated shower speaker that hangs in the shower next to my loofahs. Never have any problems. It is safe and secure as long as you push in the water cover part. Be sure to do that!
