Unfortunately when I got it home and tried to use it I realized it didn't work and wouldn't play any discs. Although, yes, it was an 'open box,' would have been nice if a bit more QC would have been done at the store. It was listed as 'excellent' yet didn't even come with the remote. My advice would be to test any open box item if possible before you leave the store.

Expensive brick.

It’s ok

Sometimes it doesn’t turn on and I have to unplug it to reset it. Sometimes you will be watching a movie and about a half hour into it, it just stops and goes black and you have to unplug to reset again.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i am a big fan of sony but the ubx 800 has so many problems.it works fine for a few days and then the disc tray won't open.have to disconnect all wires and restart the unit as brand new.and then after a day or two same problem.sony didn;t have any good solution therefore it was returned.

DON'T BUY -- WORTHLESS

I got GARBAGE sounds from the first SACD I tried to play (which plays well in another player), and it tried to eat the first 4K UHD Blu-Ray I put in it (I finally got it out). It did play CDs, but so do many other units I have. Also, there is no time display on the front panel. Overall, a most frustrating purchase, made even worse by the EXTREMELY LIMITED return window at Best Buy.
