Really like this player, which replace an older failing Oppo. The features are simple and integrated well with my SamSun TV

Solid well built. Quiet and quick disc loading and spinning. Good picture . Really disappointed in the continued lack of auto Dolby vision a really inconsiderate and cumbersome feature. Also the sparse streaming apps compared to past sony players. For those looking for a one player fits all. And lastly the lack of atmos on Netflix and prim compared to other players and streamers. Based on the lack of the above features I would not recommend this unit until Sony addresses these features especially the auto Dolby vision function

We've been needing to upgrade our home entertainment equipment for along time, but we did not want to have to replace our extensive DVD collection. This Sony unit upconverts all our DVDs, even enhances the playback! The Bluetooth capabilities area great feature that we haven't fully explored yet.

When it’s working it’s great..picture and sound is stunning. Unfortunately it freezes all the time even with brand new discs. I sent it sony and they sent a new one. That seemed to work fine but now I’m having the same problems with it. I would not recommend this because of the freezing.

Awesome Blu-ray player...its the best one I ever had

The picture is brighter than the previous 3 year old blu ray we replaced. The previous non SONY one had trouble with our 10 foot HDMI cable. This SONY has instructions that say be sure the cable is High Speed HDMI at 340 Mhz. I don't know our cable rating but so far so good. We will follow the recommendations if necessary.

Not a bad 4K Player.. Not much to choose from since OPPO and others stop making them. It's a pain having to go into the menu to choose Dolby Vision each time you use it. The Panasonic player have better processors but at a higher price. Get it while it's still available.

I was leery at first on buying such a large 4K player I really would like to supply your only however it does have nice streaming capabilities it's packed full of features and it's also Sony's top of the line model. Also I could not beat the $100 off for Christmas deal.

Have only watched two movies so far. Really nice picture.

The operation of this player is really smooth and easy to use.

Solid unit. Like the 17" old school standard equipment form factor just like receivers etc. Like the dual HDMI ports. On the negative side; limited to only 3 apps, Amazon Prime, Sony & Netflix. I believe the software update removes apps, but not sure

So far, everything is working perfectly on this unit. It has a nice heavy steel frame. I am only using it with Blu-ray disks, however (not 4K disks). The only reason for the missing star is because of the limited streaming functions. Only the big three are available: Netflix, Amazon Prime & YouTube.

Easy to install and operate. It only has Netflix, YouTube, and Prime and no other streaming services, however. Our TV is older and so we rely on the DVD player for the e-contents. Time to get a new TV! For the price of this player, they should include more options.

SHOPPED A LOT FOR A DVD PLAYER WHEN WE PURCHASED A NEW 4K TV.FOR THE MONEY,THE SONY-UBP-X800M2 HAS A LOT OF FEATURES AND PLAYS A LOT OF FORMATS AND HAS A VERY GOOD WARRANTY.WE FEEL WE CHOSE THE BEST OVER ALL VALUE IN THE STORE.IT PLAYS A LOT OF FORMATS.

The DVD player was surprisingly easy to set up using the system instructions displayed on the tv screen. The "laser" pointer moves a little too quickly at first but once I got accustomed to the sensitivity of the remote it's made moving from one input to another much easier than I hoped for

This 4k player has excellent picture quality and response time.

It plays discs, but honestly I don’t see why it costs so much more than other players. The UI looks like it’s from the 90s, it doesn’t have resume play like other Sony Dvd players I’ve owned (hit stop and you’re back to the top menu) and YouTube crashes constantly. Never bothered to try Netflix on it. I’m sure much cheaper players perform just as well if not better. I’m usually a Sony fan, but this one leaves a lot to be desired

Right out of the box it plays all. DVD, Blu ray, and 4k no issues. I unhooked my old Sony DVD players as they are unnecessary. It really cleaned up the wiring. I have owned several Sony products dating back to 1962. My original TapeCorder Monaural still works. I lost one TV to lightening in Iowa. I love Sony products! They consistently make great stuff and have for years. Thanks to all Sony Employs for such great products. Dr. Mark
